WIW: winter whiteout

I was inspired by Angie's Friday post and wore winter whiteout outfits 2 days in a row ignoring snow and cold.

pic 1 Angie's copycat
I wore this to work on Friday. it was bitter cold in the morning (-29C with windchill) so I wore my tan shearling lined boots outside and changed into the booties at work. This is almost a exact copycat of a recent Angie's outfit (the same sweater and jeans) and I shamelessly admit it. As I don't have white booties I wore my python booties. As for the bag I decided that I like the dove grey here. Jeans stayed clean for the whole day defeating ride back and from work in a dirty car (snow and salt) and a 0.5h lunch break walk in downtown. I did not feel out of plce wearing winter white in a sea of black and dark at all!

pic 2 Winter white and little black
This is what I wore for a friend's birthday party today - similar to a previous day but with different sweater and bag. However I am afraid this dotty sweater shrank a bit after a wash :-( or is it just too short and fitted for the skinnies?  If I won't be able to stretch it I will reserve it to wear with roomier trousers...

pic 3-4 Bonus of New Year Eve outfit
This was a final version of my New Year Eve outfit I asked your help for I added a brown leather jacket for warmth and I was glad I did!

Thank you for looking and have a great Sunday. I hope nobody was affected by the winter storm in the US North East this weekend. It looks like this storm is catching up with us now as it has been snowing for the last couple of hours. Please stay warm and safe!

Swetha you look AMAZING!  I love your white cable knit outfit - divine!  Head to toe white always looks so grown up to me - it implies you know how to navigate the world and stay spotless.  Two thumbs up :).

Stunning, Sveta! Those white outfits are so gorgeous.

You absolutely have the most beautiful clothes. And you wear them wonderfully well, you look like a model! I adore the white-out outfits, and am going to attempt a copy of #1 later this week (she shamelessly admits!). As a lover of skirts, #4 is simply outstanding!

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous. I love the Angie copy - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

Love! Sveta, you are a wonder.

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

Oh my! Love your skirt outfit!! So ladylike and polished! Perfect winter white outfit too! I am yet to try the winter white ensemble. Will not be that hard with my climate :). Also just noticed that you kept both the bags :).

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

    You kept both bags. *smiling*

(I really want that style of bag in light blue or blush pink. Inge in lilac).

Sveta, you are my Winter Whiteout Hero. (I said so back in the comments section on the blog post). You wore #1 in Arctic Canada after changing from snow gear back into work clothes. I am so, so, so impressed. You rock my style world you stylish creature.

#4 (and #3 with the leather jacket) are Killer Gorgeous. How pretty and ladylike you look.

And hello cream jeans and polka dot twin. The top is fine with the belt, faux-tucked. And the jeans are fluid. Problem Solved. I'm glad you kept the jeans. You look amazing and I want to hug you. xo

    Sorry, I meant a 10 for everything. : )

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

The whiteout is too awesome. Also, excellent NYE outfit :)

Thank you so much for your comments, ladies. Sorry, I could not reply earlier: today is a giant house cleaning day after both my sons departed for the college. :-(
I am happy winter whiteout gets so much love. It is truly magical to sail through all this urban dirt and grime in such pristine color. I find I have to be careful getting in and out of the car but that should be for any color, right? it is really interesting but find white bottoms easier to keep clean in winter than in summer, I can go longer without a wash in winter. I think I will wear #1 many times this season and #2 with slouchy trousers instead of the skinnies (I think I would prefer proportions this way better).
bj1111, those SE python booties were workhorses for me last year: I found that they instantly bring any simple outfit to the next level. I find that it is hard for me to wear really neutral and plain footwear which just blends into the background...weird, right?
Neel and Angie  - yes, I did keep  both bags, it was my little birthday indulgence :-)
Angie, I will keep my eyes open for this kind of bag in blush, pale blue or lilac for you and Inge (won't say no to a lilac one myself).

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

    Stunning as always Sveta!
    IKWYM about those python booties:
I saw them on Caro IRL and they are indeed magical in their amping-up qualities for any outfit! Stand-out yet neutral enough to play with most outfits.

  • Alexandra replied 10 years ago

All four are beautiful but #1 is truly stunning!
