Company event this Friday: help!

We have company party this Friday and dress code is business formal.
I have hard time deciding what to wear but I know one thing for sure: I want to wear my tuxedo jacket, silver pumps and striped clutch! The rest is open for debates :-)
#1 Black/white sheath dress
#2 Black silk shirt with cream trim, cream fluid trousers
#3 Silver stripe sweater, cream trousers
#4 Le smoking with black trousers and white BB shirt tucked in with the belt
I like the tucked look but it drives me  crazy because the shirt gets un-tucked when I sit down so here is another version:
#5 the same but shirt untucked
#6 Silver stripe sweater, black trousers
#7 Cream silk sweatshirt, black trousers
#8 Indigo silk sweatshirt, black trousers

Any preference? What should I go with?
Thanks!!!!

I like 1 by a million. The others are nice but a bit too dark for you, for some reason, to my eye. You come alive in 1.

  • replied 10 years ago

I like 5, 7 and 8 the best. Love the blazer on you.

  • Diana replied 10 years ago

I like 1 and 7/8. I actually really like 3 as well but I think it looks too casual for business formal. (I feel like if you're going to do trousers it should look like a matched suit.)

  • Lucy replied 10 years ago

Honestly, you could wear any of them! They are all amazing outfits. But I think 1 and 2 are my favourites. They are so so striking!
I think the ones with the beige stripey top are a little more casual to my eye, so I think it depends on the venue too.

    I vote #1! Beautiful!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

    I vote #8. So chic.

  • Sheila replied 10 years ago

#5 & #8 are my favorites. You look fab, Sveta!

  • K. Period. replied 10 years ago

I love 7 and 8, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.  (Like Angie, I love 8.  That blue color makes you glow. So pretty!)

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Goodness you make it difficult Sveta :)  All of these look so fab.  But.. the one that really jumped out at me is #8.  The Cobalt and the black is stunning and I think perfect for a nighttime event.

  • Windchime replied 10 years ago

They're all great outfits. For the occasion you describe, I'd go with #5 or #8.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

They're all gorgeous but my favourites are #1 and #8. I think for this event, maybe #1 since to my eye it reads as more formal. You look beautiful!

And I see there is enough disagreement to suggest that you would be safe with any of these!  :)

  • carambola replied 10 years ago

My favorites are 1, 3, and 8. 3 may be too casual for the event, but I love it as an outfit.

  • cuffcat replied 10 years ago

I really like #1. The sheath dress is beautiful. Love the earrings!

  • Runcarla replied 10 years ago

Favourites are 1, 5 and 8. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the looks. 1 is my favourite but 8 is almost startling in it's sophistication. If you don't wear it this time, find another occasion to do so!

  • Susie replied 10 years ago

I like them all! But for the event, I choose 7 or 8

  • Gigi replied 10 years ago

#1 is by far my favorite.

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

So my faves are 2 and 8... Don't think you can go wrong judging by the votes!

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

#1 an #5 are my favorites out of a great selection, but I have a giant black and white sugar eye right now!

  • greycat6 replied 10 years ago

You look fabulous in all of them but my favorites are 1,5 and 8.  They are all great choices!

You wear the stripes very well but for a business formal occasion they look a little casual - but great for a date night!

  • Vivi replied 10 years ago

You are stunning. I vote 1 or 8. Love the earrings with 1. Would they work with 8 or too much?

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

You are so gorgeous! My favorites for this event are 1, 2, 6 or 8.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 10 years ago

My faves are 1, 5, and 8! I was wowed by 1, partly because I love the earrings with it. You are so sleek and elegant in the trouser outfits, though. I like the unexpectedness of the ink blue color. It's nice to have such beautiful options!

  • Michelle replied 10 years ago

Sveta, just reading your thumbnail descriptions gave me massive wardrobe envy. :) You are going to dazzle your coworkers, so go forth and dress to kill!!

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

#5, #7 or #8 for me too (without looking to see what everyone else said).

#8 is dramatic & gorgeous - just like the wearer.

  • unfrumped replied 10 years ago

All are gorgeous. I like 1, 2 and 8 best. 1 of course is the only dress choice but it does look bright and lovely. In 2 and 8, I like the dark top + dark topper look rather than a white top with the dark suit--looks less predictable somehow.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

OMG #1!! The pattern-almost-matching makes you look straight out of a magazine. Fresh, dramatic, elegant. Super love. #6 is my second fave but a long ways behind 1.

  • Emily replied 10 years ago

#1 is my very favourite; you look elegant and professional.  The heels and earrings are perfect dressy touches.

  • Vildy replied 10 years ago

only #1 - which is my favorite anyway - reads like business formal to me.  It may be partly because if you relax and slouch in any of the pants outfits, to my eye you would lose the snappiness.

  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago

1 or 8 here, depending on your prefference but you cannot go wrong with neither of these! I also see having plenty of good outfits doesn't make the choices easier..:-)

  • kkards replied 10 years ago

i couldn't get past #1! but if i have to pick a second fav, it would be a tie between # 7 and # 8!

  • Aleta replied 10 years ago

Definitely #1, you look so glamorous!

  • rute replied 10 years ago

    1 is stunning!!!!!!!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Thank you all so much! With your help I have narrowed my selection to  #1 and 8. I think I am leaning towards #1 just because it does look pretty formal and I don't know if I have another opportunity to wear such outfit any time soon...
I also have my mom's birthday dinner at the restaurant this Saturday so maybe I can wear #8 there?

  • replied 10 years ago

    ^perfect conclusion^

  • gryffin replied 10 years ago

Sveta - 1, 2 & 7 are my personal favorites but I think you look drop dead elegant in every picture.  You can't choose wrong.  Which feels the best, most comfortable and poweful to you?

  • Elizabeth P replied 10 years ago

Well, I was going to say #1, with #8 as a close follow up, but I see you've already decided that!

So I'm going to post anyway, to say that all these outfits are fantastic.  And good for you trying them all on to help you decide... I'd be doing it 5 minutes before I had to leave, or the guests were to arrive, and there would be a huge pile of stuff on my bed to deal with later...

  • Janet replied 10 years ago

I have not read responses yet, but #1 really jumped out at me. The earrings take it up a notch in festivity, but the whole effect is really beautiful and totally party-worthy.

They all look fantastic though. It would be hard for you to go wrong with so many wonderful choices! Just shows you how spectacular your wardrobe is.

  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago

Conclusion is brilliant, Sveta! have fun both events!:-)

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

Agree that for the occasion, number one is a stand-out. Great looks! I also liked number 5 a lot. These are great looks for you, Sveta and you may well find the opportunity to wear several of them. Have fun!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

    Yes Zap <grinning>.
gryffin, I liked them all - that's why I could not decide! To Eliza's point I do hope to find opportunitis to wear all these combinations...
Elizabeth, I do it too, hiding in my bedroom and frantically deciding what to wear when guests are already in. Looks like when I am going out I prepare better but when I am hosting I am too preoccupied with food preparation and outfit goes on the back burner...
Janet, I was thinking that maybe earrings are too much here...on the other hand I do want to look more festive than every day at work so maybe they are fine...
Thank you all again for helping me out!

Number 1 steals the show in my opinion!!!
