WIW which is short on words...

...because it is too hot now to think what to write! Last week was extremely busy for me with spending 3 mornings in the hospital so most of the time it was for FFBO to the rescue.

pic 1 Trying to find ways to incorporate these brown loafers into my summer outfits - here is with white. Works?

pic 2 Morning in the hospital to drive my hubby to and from a procedure and then to work. Of course I was running late in the morning and no time to dress properly so very simple shirt-pants formula was needed!

pic 3 I am trying to get more wear from my new summer pieces before winter is back. This one felt pretty good.

pic 4 Another summer shirt I want to wear more often while I can - and the vest too!

pic 5-6 I think I have a mental block wearing skinnies with shorter tops which I tried to overcome here. I am adding the side and back view as this is my most "tender" spot now - do you think I can wear shorter tops with skinnies or I ma better off sticking to the ones which cover my behind as much as possible?

pic 7 This is my "not NAS" purchase from yesterday trip - Vince Camuto tube skirt in black. I have one in stripe for the 3rd season now and while I love it sometimes pattern mixing is too much so I picked up this solid black yesterday. As you can see I am firmly on the Team Wear as I wore it to work the next day!

Thank you for looking and as usual all comments and suggestions are very much appreciated!

Wow, Sveta, really wow! :) I love all you outfits so much, I can not even pick a favorite! You look fantastic!!!

  • Pat_P replied 8 years ago

You certainly can wear skinnies with shorter tops - you look great in them!

  • Carole replied 8 years ago

Hitting it out of the park everyday, Sveta! I think your skinnies look good here even with your backside uncovered!

  • Cerinda replied 8 years ago

Those skinnies look just right!  Go for it.

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

You had a fantastic week with shades of light blue and whites.  I can't pick a favorite.

1:  Well, this might be my favorite of the week.  The brown loafers look fab with white jeans, helped by the studded belt, bag and dark top.

2:  Love the fluid fit of your shirt here and everything is dressed up with those wonderful shoes.

3:  The black under the white lace top really makes it stand out.  I love the black flats here and adore that jacket.

4:  This might be my favorite too with the shades of white and textures going on.  I think you once said it was hard to find the right footwear for those plaid jeans.  The white oxfords look wonderful.

5/6:  You can certainly wear short tops with those jeans.  You look amazing.

7:  That black tube skirt will be a workhorse and good for trips too.  Every time I see that pick up sticks top, I want to steal it.

Just wow! You nailed every single one of these! The brown loafers definitely work! Love the blue blazer with the white lace top. That is just a stunning combo!! You are such a stylish dresser!

  • anne replied 8 years ago

Gosh these are all absolutely great (and no worries about the back view!)

  • lyn67 replied 8 years ago

    Wow, nr 4 is K2K!:-)

  • Maneera replied 8 years ago

Love 5/6 and 7! Absolutely fabulous! I love them ALL, the blue blazer and white lace top look like a match made in heaven!

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 8 years ago

LOVE, love, love the proportions and drape in #2, the color and fit in #1, and the lovely lace top in #3.  I think you should continue to fight the need to avoid a hip length top with skinnies because the look works for you.  Those plaid skinnies are fab and I have always coveted them. :)

I have the black VC ruched tube and it is a very easy piece to fit into an outfit.  I think you will be very happy with the choice.

  • Suz replied 8 years ago

Every one of these is fabulous. My favourites are 2, 3, and 5, and YES you can wear skinnies without a longer top. Proportions are perfection. No worries at all, my friend.

I hope Mr. S. is okay?? It has been a season of hospital visits for the two of you....

  • Meredith replied 8 years ago

I would never guess you were hurried based on the end product of these outfits. You mix color, texture, and cuts like a pro.

  • donnat replied 8 years ago

Wow... just wow...i love #1 the jacket, I think I need a jacket in that color. The lace top, gorgeous, #4 is just all around fabulous. Those plaid skinnies, with the tunic top and the vest... where is my crash helmet?
You definately can wear a skinny pant with a shorter top. The vc rushed skirt... beautiful.

  • Sara L. replied 8 years ago

These are all lovely outfits.  Light blue is a very flattering color on you.  I especiall like 33, 5, and 7.  I don't typically wear short tops with my skinnies either but the combination looks great on you.  No worries about whether you need a longer top.

  • Elly replied 8 years ago

One and three are my absolute favorites-- very fresh.

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

Ultra Fabulous as always, Sveta. Are you growing your hair into a mini bob? I like that idea. See pics below.

Hope that the family is okay - hospital trips can be very stressful. (((HUGS))).

Yes, the brown loafers look great - and your behind looks beautiful in a shorter top and skinnies. Lets celebrate the glory of your behind!

LOVE #3. My best and absolutely killer - although #4 and #5 are close seconds. Pretty Hip Verve.

Btw, I have the white tunic too. LOVE IT. Friend gave it to me for my birthday. Waving at my twin.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 8 years ago

Sveta, you look stunning every day. These outfits are all great. I especially love that eyelet tunic worn with the plaid skinnies and moto vest. Really fun combo! Your skinnies and shorter top are simply fab on you, too--back view included!
I think your second outfit--the hurried one--is very elegant. Those sandals are really pretty, and they set off the cropped pants nicely.

  • deb replied 8 years ago

Sveta, you always look so good but #4 is my fave.

  • Staysfit replied 8 years ago

I love all of these but number 3 is my favorite. I wondered how you would style the BR lace top, and I love that jacket. I'm currently feeling dismal about my own luck with jackets so I admire everyone who can wear them well. :-)

  • Lyn D. replied 8 years ago

You look FAB in the shorter top with skinnies Sveta!
Pics 5-6 are my favourites, as I lean towards more casual outfits.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Even though your week sounds hectic, you look perfectly well turned out as always.

In response to your questions: Yes the brown loafers work in #1, particularly with the other sandy shades added (belt, bag). The shorter top with the high rise crops looks super, I don't think you need to worry there at all (leave it to you, Ms. Long Legs, to make cropped pants look leggy ^^); LOVE those sandals with this outfit, my favorite element of the look.

#2, 3, and 4 are all extra superb. My fave is #2. The ease on that shirt is perfect! I haven't been wearing this silhouette much this summer, as I don't really have cropped trousers and that's what makes this feel current for me and my few easy shirts right now are all fall/winter weight. Going to have to mull on how I can emulate for whenever cooler days come around.

(Hope all the hospital stuff was sorted out! That's always stressful.)

  • carter replied 8 years ago

Wow! Love them all, but 1 and 2 appeal to me personally the most. For me, 2 is the epitome of casual chic...very Emmanuelle Alt.

  • Jaime replied 8 years ago

Love #2, and #5 looks fab from every angle!

  • celia replied 8 years ago

Hope everything is well with DH.
You look wonderful all week long. If this is what you do in a hurry wow.
My favorites are #3 &7. I love that color combination on you.
And yes, I do believe you can wear skinnies with shorter tops.

  • Sveta replied 8 years ago

Thank you all for your kind comments and for endorsing the shorter top / skinnies look - I feel much better now :-)
I am really surprised with so much love for #2: it was a "quickly-throw-something-over-because-hubby-is-fuming-in-the-car" outfit. I do like this shirt, it is perfect for the heat because the fabric is very lightweight and very pleasant on the body. I am less impressed with these cropped trousers from Express because they bag out on the knees.
Angie, I do grow my hair a bit but not sure yet what I want in the end. I was thinking something like this but actually I also have your first picture in my inspiration board too...hmmm...maybe I should consider a hybrid between a short bob and pixie? I have a hair appointment this Saturday so really need to decide...
And I am thrilled to be a tunic twin with you! YAY!

  • Ankita replied 8 years ago

    Jeeeeez....you're so stylish :)

I think you look stunning in each & EVERY one of these.

My favourite part about #1 is the blazer... the pop of colour is perfect....with #2 I'm loving the shoes and the length of the pants (very flattering on you)...

    #3 is the BOMB!!! <3
The blouse and the blazer are sooooooo gorgeous!

#4 Love the shirt.... i can picture it with a pair of leggings and high heels plus an animal print clutch :)

    The scarf in #5 & #6 is beautiful <3

The top in #7 looks really good on you ( & is def one of my favourite) and the denim jacket is gorgeous :)

  • Vix replied 8 years ago

    Hi Sveta --

All lovely and thought-through vs "thrown on" looking; impressive!

I'm not a skinnies + shorter top for myself so at your direction looked especially close at #5 -- zero issues for any self-consciousness seen. Enjoy!

  • unfrumped replied 8 years ago

Oh, wow, 2 and 3 are faves, no, wait-wait, also like....
You've picked great items that mix and match wonderfully.

  • Style Fan replied 8 years ago

You look amazing in all of the outfits.  You look very fab in skinnies and a short top.
Looking forward to seeing your hair.

  • Peri replied 8 years ago

I really love 3 and 7! And yes, you definitely can wear shorter tops with skinnies, although I really know where you are coming from! I am getting so used to...and really loving...longs tops for the past 2 years that my tush may never get seen again! I've been wondering if it would be hard to change back for that reason so I get your hesitation even though you look great. For me, it doesn't help that "she really showed her butt" is colloquial for behaving really badly in public!

  • jenanded replied 8 years ago

If its any consolation, you look relaxed in your face ... your outfits are lovely as usual!
