WIW: my long awaited HEWI!

Remember I asked you all about JCrew shoes because I was attracted to these flat oxfords?  I have old Trouve oxfords which are falling apart and which were not as refined as I would liked and I have been looking for refined flat oxfords for 2 years without any luck.
Long story short I decided to pounce on JCrew oxfords when they had 30% sale and when they had free shipping and returns and they arrived last week. I was pretty sure they will be too narrow, not comfortable, etc. With trembling hands I removed them from the box and tried them on - and they were perfect fit for my wider forefoot and not pinching my toes even though the toe is almond. The leather is very soft quality and they were comfortable and not stiff at all. I still cannot believe that I got my HEWI and in this perfect off-white color!
I was also afraid that my feet wild look enormous in white flat oxfords but another surprise - I think they actually look good. My hubby also gave them a seal of approval - what more could I have asked for. Oh, and they are gone in my size now - I am so happy I pounced when I did!

I wanted to debut them today as they promise rain for the rest of the week. I was pouring over Angie's and Pinterest to figure out how to wear them with black skinnies (it was the only available trouser option for me). I even created a Pinterest board with loafers and oxfords outfits! Inthe end my solution came from one of the outfits in this Angie's post even though it is about loafers and not oxfords - but a gal has to be creative, right? I honestly think that flat oxfords work here as well as loafers would - what do you think?

I was not sure about the length of the trousers. They are full length skinnies but I felt like sporting crops or ankle pants today after Angie's post so here is a result. Leg shortening or not but I felt pretty good in this outfit all day (and was looking at my feet all the time admiring my new pets and thinking how lucky I was to gamble on them :-) )

    There is something elegant about this look, even though it is casual or relaxed with the rolled cuff pants and scrunched sleeves. The fabrics and leather look 'luxe' to me. You look long and lean. Good call on the shoes!

    Congratulations on HEWI success!  Styled to perfection here.

    I love this look.  I live vicariously through you as I look at your recent WIWs Sveta.  First, I could never pull off cropped pants and flats.  Second, I could never pull off a long top like that in a contrasting color, it would chop me in half.  In my soul I am 5'10", at least, not barely 5'4", and wearing beautiful polished clothes like this!

    Yay for another HEWI achievement story! You look fantastic in this outfit, and the shoes are gorgeous. I like ankle pants, and think the length of your trousers is fine. It's nice that us tall gals can risk a little leg shortening, isn't it? This is one of my favorite outfits of yours!

    Is there a challenge going on here I don't know about?(who posts the best outfit ever????) Shannon and Sveta head to head for the prize...and I haven't seen the other posts yet either...:-).

    So plonk here again! As AG said, one of my faves ever! I generaly  have mostly a want them but hate them on me relationship with flat, high wamped, laced shoes, oxfords, or any others, but  these, in white- are delicious!

    The all outfit is fab2fab, love it Sveta!

    What Denise and Viva said! I don't know which is better, your hilarious description of the shopping adventure -- or your amazing outfit. 

    I get a real 80s vibe from this -- in a good way. So jealous that you can carry off that super high contrast with flats and still look one million per cent amazing. I see no leg shortening -- just styling brilliance! Congrats on finding your HEWI and enjoy!

    Oh, this is fantabulous Sveta.  I'm thilled you found your white shoes... I know how challenging that can be, and I don't even have hard to fit feet. 

    This whole outfit is wonderful.

    Yay for finding your perfect shoe!  And a wonderful outfit for a first outing.  Isn't it nice when a gamble pays off?  I have not tried JCrew shoes myself, so I was very curious to hear how they are, thanks for the report!

    Sveta, you look fabulous!  The outfit is gorgeous and the oxfords complete it perfectly.  I'm so glad you found them.  I have white oxfords left over from last summer, and they are one of the most versatile pieces in my summer wardrobe.

    Lisa, I am happy with those  - they had first outing yesterday including 2 mile walk to work and my feet were pretty happy. You should check them out if you are on the market for flat oxfords.

    Denise, believe me that being 5'10" has so many challenges shopping wise you may be much better of with your 5'4" :-) I guess the grass is always greener...
    Karie, we tall girls have to have some perks right - after all these shopping nightmares of everything being too short most of the time...
    lyn67, thank you for your enthusiasm! Maybe you should try the oxfords again? I find those working much better for my style than my old Trouve ones because they are more revined and elegant which is a nice counteract for the masculine style. I also began a whole Pinboard for inspiring looks with flat oxfords and hope this will help as well.
    Ceit, you should try them. Mushroom color is on sale now and with 30% it comes to $112 - pretty good deal now.
    Viva, have no doubt: you will see these shoes a lot when weather start cooperating.
    Suz and Janet - I did not even think of 80's vibe. Hmmm, if it was not intentional should I be worried? :-)

    Sveta- head to toe perfection. Love the oxfords and they will play well with your stunning wardrobe. Have fun!

    Full disclosure: I have a very similar pair of cream oxfords that I pair with almost everything. I especially like them with tuxedo style jackets.
