WIW - yellow, blue and white

This was a short work week as we had  holiday Monday. I am not posting the weekend outfits: it was all deck building so I will spare you :-)

pic 1 Yellow and Ink
Inspired by Angie's long shorts post I decided to wear mine too! They are not as cool as hers  and I don't have that amazing strict and playful top so I tried to make do with what I have.
I usually pair this yellow blazer with white, grey or faded denim because I fell it is such a statement piece it has to be toned down. This time however I decided to try it with ink blue - what do you think? Too much? Instead of high-contrast white I opted for low-contrast black shoes and belt.

black belt and silver tote - Danier
black open-toe shoes - Ros Hommerson

pic 2 Yellow and dark blue - again!
Looks like yellow and blue was a recurring theme this week! This is my attempt to de-bombshell a pencil skirt - with cats! The shirt is pretty loose on me (on top anyway) so it really balloons over this skirt.

Navy / cream cat shirt - Gap

pic 3 Back to white
After my foray into colors I am back enjoying white this summer. As always this outfit was inspired by Angie's one from here. OK, let's be honest - not just inspired but basically copy-catted up to the leopard belt! :-)

Kut white BF jeans - Nordstrom
MK leopard belt - Rack
Silver Isaac Mizrahi flats - Nordstrom
Red Chromia bag - Winners

The day was humid and hot so my lightweight coral lace dress came out to play. We planned to go to the park after work to listen to the music so flat oxfords were just right for the comfort level. I also decided to pull out my old tan hobo bag which I have not used for a while.

As usual  any comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

You look like a model. These are wonderful outfits, and I'm loving your hair slightly mussed.
My favorites are #1, which works beautifully to my eye, and the Angie copy #3.

  • Ornella replied 10 years ago

Only opened the photos and fainted over #3.

I'll be back to check the rest later, when I un-faint :-D

ETA: Actually, I think it *would* be fun to know whether your deck-building gear had undergone style transformation too. I find that post-YLF me is fussy when it comes even to gardening gloves.

Ornella - just for you my "deck gear" :-)

  • Runcarla replied 10 years ago

Is that your son with a cat? Here's a picture I took last week when youngest son wasn't looking!

Btw, I love ALL your fab summer work outfits, Sveta!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Runcarla, yes, it is my son petting the cat. Both he and my hubby turn to jelly when cats are around, big softies!:-)

Loving the colors in #1 and #2.  these are so fresh and sophisticated.  All the outfits are stellar, and more amazing than ever given your workload and the challenges of hot weather dressing.

Love the plaid "deck building" shirt.  You have a pool!  Hey, everyone:  YLF pool party at Sveta's!

I think the bright jacket in pic 1 looks FAB with the ink shirt- a pop of sunshine!

Love these Sveta! The yellow works great with the ink blue. I think the blouse works great with the pencil too!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Joy, my hair has a mind of its own and we are not always on the best terms :-(
Beth Ann, pop in any time for a little pool time! It is really a lifesaver on hot humid days...
    Lyn D. and Ceit- thanks!

Woooooohhhooo! You bat for Team LOOOOOOOOONG shorts too! That's a KILLER look, Sveta. The fluidity of those shorts is just perfect.

I'm predictable. #3 makes me faint. But of course you look stunning in the skirts and dresses too.

    *faints with white crash helmet*

Love them all, Sveta! Am amazed you can look so fresh in the heat. My special favourite is #3, of course, but I also love #1 and #2.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

What I find so amazing with your style Sveta is that you have a relatively small wardrobe over all and yet your outfits do not seem like repeats - you change things up with small tweaks here and there and your outfits always seem new and fresh. Very impressive!

I love #1 and once again, you are giving me ideas on how to wear our yellow blazer.

Love the son & kitty pics :)

What time is the pool party? I'll bring the white wine spritzers.

Angie, I don't know if they technically long shorts or short crops - they are rather longer than yours - but I like wearing them. I only wish thery were a tad slouchier...maybe I should lose some weight to make them so... :-)
Suz, I work in A/C office and unlike Shannon our AC is working full blast: I had to wear a wool cardi over outfit #3 because it was too cold! In the morning and in the evening when I commute it is not as hot. Weekends are a different story...
Shannon, I think small wardrobe is a very relative term: comparing to Claire's mine is positively bursting :-) Let's see that yellow blazer in more action!

All fab outfits! I would not change the fit of your short crops/long shorts one iota. You look smashing in them. I saw that photo and thought, gee, you didn't wear trousers pre-YLF? You do look like a model in them. I love the ink and yellow combinations in 1 and 2 on you, too.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

There's no need to brag about your A/C Sveta - lol!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Sorry Shannon, I was not bragging I was complaining!;-)
Firecracker, I cannot believe it either! It required Angie's prodding to show me the way! :-)

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

At least my A/C at home is working and I can cool off here after being in my sweaty office all day. Wouldn't it be nice if we could have some sort of consistency in temperature???

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

Sveta, you know I love #3! I ordered the KUT Catherine's, they are due to arrive Tues. Fingers crossed for a good fit! If they look half as amazing as yours I'll be happy.

  • replied 10 years ago

Such lovely outfits Sveta. I was going to say 1 and 2 are my favourites, but to be honest I think they are all pretty faintworthy.

Fab week of outfits.  I've been sporting my green blazer which I saved from the donate pile after seeing your fab yellow blazer outfits.  (I'll post photos once I get my new camera).  I like the yellow against the dark navy color.  I don't think I've seen you pair this yellow blazer with any prints yet.  I'd love to see it remixed against a fun print.

    Gorgeous pool!
