WIW: almost no white this time!

I don't have much opportunities to be on the forum or read the blog these days - my work and building a deck eat all my time - but I am still trying to carve out time to take daily WIW pictures and post weekly WIW posts just to keep myself motivated!
After very white  last week this week is definitely colorful! Also this was a very hot week and skirts reigned supreme. Nothing really exciting - too hot so all my creative juices simply evaporated :-)

Simple FFBO formula for summer - sleeveless dress and a cropped jacket: perfect for those hectic mornings!

I wanted to wear a sweatshirt-like top with a skirt for a long time - and now I can. Tried a half tuck with it-  what do you think?

Definitely I was in a fancy mood this day! I like this polka dot top but have hard time finding good toppers to wear with it. I amnot sure if this cropped blue jacket was a good pairing but it was better than any others - and not as hot as denim on 31C+ hot day. I would appreciate any ideas which toppers can work with this top style!
Polka dot sleeveless top - Jacob
Midi skirt - Spanners
Ros Hommerson pointy toe slingbacks
Silver tote - Danier

This is my new Hilary Radley silk blouse from Costco. It is already a high - low hem but I like to semi-tuck is as well to showcase the belt. I really want to add one more button, this one is too low cut for me! This orangy-red color really makes me happy!

BF jeans - Gap
gold slipper flats - Isaac Mizrahi
"Monty cousin" - Winners

Observation: last summer I did not wear these bone pointy toe slingbacks at all - and this year I wear them almost every week even though they are not the most comfortable shoes for me. I think it is all Angie's doing because I am such a shameless copycat of hers! :-) Hmm, maybe I should risk those BV Wow pumps after all...

Have a great weekend - and yes, it is a long one in Canada!

I am shamelessly going to copy your first outfit Sveta with my white denim jacket over my black-background floral frock. I never even thought of that!

And I love how that 80's denim jacket in outfit #4 is working into your wardrobe so well. I like it with this outfit a lot.

Outfit #5 is absolute PERFECTION BTW!

And as a complete enabler, I say yes to the Wow pumps.

Have a fabulous Canada Day weekend :)

I hope you will give us a peek at your deck when it is finished. You had another great week of outfits. My favorite is 3. I really like the shape of the jacket and unexpected blue color. I have a sleeveless black with white polkadots blouse and almost always use my white denim jacket or a white cardi with it for a topper...not very original. For this outfit it feels like you would need to stick to toppers cropped enough for the full skirt.
I love your bright Cosco silk blouse. Our Cosco doesn't have them :(
    Happy Canada Day

After last week's white outfits the pops of red, orange and blue look fantastic!
Would your white jacket form pic 1 work with the dotty top?

  • replied 10 years ago

Sveta, you look amazing in all of these!

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

I wish my creative juices would evaporate to the same place yours do! Sveta, you look super fabulous in each of these outfits. I am so copying #1 and #5!

As far as other toppers for #4, how about a denim vest (Gap has nice ones), or a short sleeved cardi (JCP and Loft have nice ones). The Gap vest comes in white, regular, and distressed, and the cardi's both come in many different colors.

You look gorgeous in the orange blouse. Too bad out Costco never got any of these beauties. I was also seriously considering WOW pumps but after seeing Sarah A's report on those in this post http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-wow-pumps, I decided not to. I am always cautious ordering shoes online but if you think they would fit you well, I'd say go for it.

Along with Karie, I am hoping that my creative juices will evaporate just like yours so I can manage to look half as fab! These are fantastic outfits. I would also like you to compare them to your outfits 3 years ago. Back then you made the same complaint in the summer. The outfits then were already good...but now they are superlative!

I find it tough to pick a favourite here, because all are so perfect. but I adore the dotty blouse full skirt outfit and I think this shape of jacket is perfect with it; also the colour is unexpected and works well. Adore the orange blouse on you. And #2 is also super Urban Princely!

I'm with Shannon. You had me at #1, but #5 is *faint* worthy.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Totally gorgeous, Sveta! KILLER x4! (I am humbled to be copied). CANNOT pick a fave, but it's fab to see you in skirts and dresses again!

I love how you found your sweatshirt. A brunette in that shade of blue is too perfect for words :)

  • chewyspaghetti replied 10 years ago

    These all look great

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

The last outfit is my personal fave, but the swingy skirt is so fun and different on you!  Fab week all around, despite lack of white.

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

    These are all stunning, Sveta!
My favorites are 4 and 1, but they're all great.
#4 is going into my favorites file of looks to copy!

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

These are all fab - I love how you wear total lady-like & casual chic equally well. Love your hair too :)

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

    Fab x five!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Thank you ladies for the kind comments!
Shannon, I though you have already worn your floral dress with a white denim jacket...maybe it was a light wash jacket? The jacket in #4 is not denim but a fine corduroy I thrifted some time ago and which still survived my frequent purges...
Joy, this blue jacket is my most cropped one. As for the deck - sure if we ever finish it: it seems like an awful amount of work right now...
Lyn D., the white jacket may work too of course. I guess it is the high neck and neck tie of the polka dot blouse which make it hard for me to pair with the topper: seems too busy somehow...
Ceit, Runcarla , Khris, Parsley, Shevia - thanks!
Karie, I have a denim vest but it will not save me from AC in my office as my shoulders and arms would freeze. As for the cardigans I don't really wear them, somehow they do not match my current style much.
Mona, I have seen Sarah's post but Angie likes hers...if I go to US oon I will order them to be picked up on the border: this way I can return them for free if they do not work.
Suz, you are right: whiny me keeps complaining about summer dressing every year, I should stop it! :-)
Angie, can you believe that 3 years ago I was sure I cannot wear blue color at all because of my warm coloring? Never say never indeed...
Una, you would rock that orange shirt for sure!
Caro, thanks for loving my hair :-)

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

Love them all, with a special fondness for number 4. Like how you have combined the elements in a classic, yet unexpected way.

    Great inspirations here.

  • replied 10 years ago

Sveta, you always set me up with your stories of feeling haggard or tired or whatever and then I click on your pictures and think, "What is this girl talking about?!!" You look amazing, well-rested and fresh as a daisy in these interesting and different (and inspired) Summer outfits. I'm really happy you kept the silver tote from Danier, and I'm waving at your Monty-bag. That full skirt is right on trend this year, isn't it?

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

You're looking as amazing as ever, Sveta!  1 and 5 are my favorites.  I've been living in my bf's this summer, and you keep giving me great ways to waer them.

  • Kiwichik replied 10 years ago

Wow I like all these outits - wish it was summer here as I'd copy any one of these in a flash.

  • Lantana replied 10 years ago

There's a huge amount of fabness going on here. I'm particularly taken with the black and white polka dot outfit. The blue jacket is an unexpected yet delightful pairing.
#5 is faultless, to my eye. Colours, line, texture, proportions - all perfection.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Wowza to 3-4! That neutral pattern mix is so elegant, and I looooove the bag with it!
