WIW - for the love of White!

We have a lot of love for white around here on YLF recently and I am no exception. There is something magical about white in summer which feels cool and refreshing, don't you think? Interestingly enough prior to YLF I had a big white-phobia (especially for bottoms) but Angie shown me the way of truth...:-)

What can be simpler than a white shirt, a flared skirt and flats in summer? Never mind that the skirt is bold polka dot and the flats are bright silver...:-)
I carried a Monty cousin bag that day because I have not decided if I keep the silver tote yet but this outfit looks much better with the silver on! (which I am keeping - YAY).

Silver Isaac Mizrahi slipper flats - Nordstrom

I was inspired by Angie's outfit post that morning to wear loose fitting top tucked into jeans. Never mind that my outfit looks nothing like Angie's eye candy - it was still inspired!

White BF jeans - Kut
Ros Hommerson bone slingbacks
Faded biker denim jacket - Gap

pic 5 Almost White
I think this was my favorite of the week. I wore these blush pants with black, I wore them with burgundy but I think I like them the best with white!
I almost did not wear it that morning though as I discovered another wardrobe hole - nude cami!  I put a white cami underneath this oyster top and it was awful! The silk is slightly see through with a nude bra BUT extremely sheer with a white underneath. I was considering to wear something else completely but my heart was set for this outfit so I decided to wear the top without the cami and do not remove blazer at work. I really like how optic white of the blazer and off white oyster color of the silk banded top work together. Off white studded belt and bone slingbacks were another shades of white here - and an oversized nude clutch from Portugal to break up all white!
I really love how these shoes look and how they play in the outfits but they are not very comfortable for me. They squeeze my toes too much and I cannot walk far in them without a discomfort. If only I can find a pair of pointy toe shoes which are comfortable...but do they even exist?

pic 6 Hmmm...no White this time :-)
...unless you count the white in the shirt's pattern. Anyway I wanted to wear shades of blue so this teal lace skirt met this blue patterned blouse and I think they liked each other!
I have a question about these shoes: do you think they work here? Of course classic pumps would be the natural pairing here but what about those Fidjis? Do they look frumpy? They are very comfortable and I can walk in them for hours no problems. Is the fact that the toe box is not pointy or almond makes them frumpy or not? I think it is a good shape for me for comfort for my wide toes - what about the style part? Thoughts?

Silver tote - Danier

As you can see I am on the Team Wear and my silver tote came out to play several times this week. I LOVE it and cannot understand why I had any doubts. It is shiny and bold and I love it - and the shape and size work perfectly for my needs. It makes me happy just seeing it sitting at my desk at work!

That was my week - thanks for looking! As usual any suggestions and advice is very much appreciated.
Have an awesome weekend!!!!

Sveta! You look so chic in every one. I especially love 1 and 5....and the tote looks great

  • MNsara replied 10 years ago

Wowza!  YOU are inspiring in white this week!  And clearly you've been a quick study in mastering those light/white bottoms.  I'm taking notes.  We pears have been turned into white-bottom-phobics. . .

I agree that #5 is off the charts fabulous :-)  So chic, yet nonchalant!

Glad to see you're keeping (and using) the silver tote.  Silver is one of those lovely neutrals that goes with everything.

  • Tina replied 10 years ago

You are beautiful, the word statuesque comes to mind. It is not only the clothes, it's the face, hair, posture and bearing that complete these looks.
Number 5 is just perfection but they are all superb.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the write up as well:-)

Your style is so fab Sveta, I can't stand it! You want me to faint. That's your sneaky plan.

    :)

#1, #2 #3 and #5 have absolutely launched me into orbit before I faint with my blush pink crash helmet.

#1 is KILLER. Simple Modern Classic Sass at its best.

#3 - An '80s Wonder and KILLER too!!! So fun!!

#5 - Good Grief. KILLER to the power of KILLER. So now. So pretty. So strong. You are very inspirational.

    *faints*

Sveta, I love all these looks but #5 is off the charts!

  • replied 10 years ago

    *chuckling* at Angie fainting :)
They are indeed very inspirational looks Sveta.
5 is definitely fab, but I love them all to be honest. Sorry I missed adding to your tote thread but I think it's fab and I'm glad you're giving it lots of use already.

What a collection of great looks Sveta!

5 is incredible!!!!!  I also really like 1 and 3, and honestly all of them.

    Love your WIW posts!

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

I like them all, but 1 and 5 in particular are off the charts! Gorgeous, elegant and inspirational.

  • bj1111 replied 10 years ago

Sveta, i DIE over your almost white out ton sur ton (as Inge) would say.

Those slingbacks are gorg. Is that a canadian brand?

  • Asingh replied 10 years ago

    Outfit no.1 looks great!

Even I have a B/W polka dot skirt and I have styled it with a mustard top here http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/i-am-back-2

You might want to have a look :)

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

I am fainting in my fuchsia crash helmet...these are so fantastic I can't stand it! Every. Single. One. of these outfits is brilliant, but Angie is dead on about #5 -- this is one of my favourite outfits of yours EVER and that is saying a lot!

I adore #1, too, and am on the lookout for a wide skirt like that.

You are so stylish it hurts. I can't wait to spend some time with you and let some of your savvy wear off on me!

  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous! I especially love the white bottoms with the cobalt and I positively die over the blush/tan/white combo. So fresh and so striking!

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

Love them all! Especially smitten with 1,4 and 5!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

I'm not usually a fainter, but #5 required smelling salts. I like them all. Nothing frumpy about the Fidgi's. it looks like they blend with your skin tones.
    Lots of wonderful inspiration here

  • kkards replied 10 years ago

OMG. What a fab week you had! I feel good if I have an inspired look once a week, and you knocked it out of the park everyday
#5!!!!! And the polka dot skirt.

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

I'd look at the rest of the pics, but I am mesmerized by pic #1 - the polka dot skirt! The swingy polka dot skirt! Love it, love it, love it!

OK, I can move on to the other pics now. Oops, clicked on the skirt again - it's so beautiful!

I did it - the other outfits are fab too. Now, back to the dotty skirt pic :)

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

    I NEED THAT DOT SKIRT.

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

You look terrific in all of these, Sveta!
I agree that a touch (or a lot) of white is perfect in summer.
LOVE that silver bag- you're making me want one, and I've sworn off buying any more purses!
I agree with everybody that outfits #1 and #6 are just off the charts gorgeous and elegant!

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

I can't begin to tell you how fabulous all these outfits are - YLF Sveta, really fab. You have such a coherent look - chic, strong & womanly.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous! Just for fun I will pick #3 and #5 as favorites but they are all spectacular.

  • replied 10 years ago

#1 is wonderful! So flirty, modern, and classic. And fun. And so on.

  • replied 10 years ago

I love your style so much, Sveta!  Number five is my absolute favorite!!!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Thank you ladies for sharing my love of white!:-)
Sara, pears or not - just bring on the white, right?
Tina, thanks for the kind words!
Yes Angie, that was the plan! <evil laugh> Thanks for the K2K rating, I don't get that many of them so it is always a pleasure!
Diane, this silver tote is quickly becoming a favorite.
bj, this is Ros Hommerson - I am not sure of the origin but this brand is available in US and in Canada.
Asingh, that polka dot skirt looks great with mustard top.
Suz, we have to find you a flared skirt!
Joy, thanks for your opinion on Fidjis.

  • carolbee replied 10 years ago

All these outfits are gorgeous, but #5 - OMG it is AMAZING!!!! Sorry for shouting but is one of the best of your outfits that I have seen and you have plenty of great outfits to pick from. Fab.

  • Lantana replied 10 years ago

These are very, very lovely outfits and I can but echo all the previous accolades.
You ask abot the sandals in #6- while I think they are not as chic as those divine (but not so comfy ) pointy toed pumps, I think their nude colour does a good leg lengthening job - so they work.
And they are comfortable, which is so important.

  • replied 10 years ago

Oh yes! I am so happy you are keeping the tote! And 5 is absolutely gorgeous but they all look great. You are so inspiring!

  • Nicole D replied 10 years ago

Sveta, you are stunning in white!  It looks like a signature colour on you.  I bow to your mastery!  Particularly like the column of white with green jacket - must try, and your accessories are perfection.

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

#5 is my favorite, what a lovely collection of soft colors.  And the new silver bag is perfect for summer months.  I think it will quickly become a workhorse for you.  I'd love to see more of those silver shoes, maybe pair them in outfits 2 and 6 in a remix?  I like the idea of some metallic against the blue colors.

And I think the Fidgi's would work with outfit #5 in place of the pointy shoes that hurt.  I cannot do pointy toe's myself.  And I adore cowboy boots which are often pointy.  So I go for a more square toe and that works for me.  The toe box is still elongated like a pointy shoe but my toes are not squished because the square shape gives them more room.

  • texstyle replied 10 years ago

Looking for the right adjective - --- Exceptional I think! You look so great in white and I agree that #5 is off the charts.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Sveta - you can do no wrong in my book when it comes to your amazing style and the incredible outfits you put together :)

Every single one of these ensembles is amazing. But I agree that #5 is in a league all its own.

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

Late, but had to say that #5 nearly brought me to tears :)
I think the shoes in 6 are spot-on too. The nude shade allows your outfit to shine, adds but doesn't steal the show.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Ooh, loving the look with yellow, ink, and capris! And my goodness, the tote is working out wonderfully!

  • Adelfa replied 10 years ago

So elegant in every frame, and so consistently you.
