WIW: climbing back to the world of living :-)

Between the recovery from my surgery, my Dad being in the hospital and my acute gastritis for the last 2 weeks I did not manage to take many outfit pictures so this is what I managed. All but the last outfit were worn to work.

pic #1
A shirt, jeans and sandals - it does not get any easier than that.
pic #2
White out - a debut of a white eyelet tunic from BR. It took me long time to select between a black and white tunics and in the end the white won.
pic #3
We had an event at work with a lunch and golf but at the last moment the golf was cancelled as the course was closed due to a heavy rain on the weekend (and to my relief as I hate golfing :-) ) The invitation said "no jeans" but I gathered that nobody will guess these Kut skinnies as jeans so I should be safe :-)
pic #4
After days in jeans I felt like wearing a dress!

Day off today! I took my Mom to a farm for some strawberries and then we went for a long walk in the park. The weather is strange this summer again - July 1 and it did not even reach 20C by noon! These are the same Gap resolution straight jeans Angie has and which were in her funds. After a long internal debate I decided to get the after all after I purged my light grey jeans which were stretching like crazy - and I am so happy I did. Love these jeans! I wore them 4 times already and they do not stretch at all. The fabric is very pleasant to the touch and the color is really nice. The only issue is they are REALLY cropped on me but maybe it is a good thing: after all I wanted to branch into cropped pants this year and these fit the bill (an hopefully they are cropped at the flattering length).

Thank you for looking and as usual all comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

I'm glad you're feeling better. You look great, and your photographer, whoever that may be, is growing in talent.

It has been a week of blazers, sweaters and pants in New England as well. Yay for third piece styling, but to be honest I prefer hot and sunny!

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Hello lovely lady! Glad to hear things are improving after a tough cope weeks. Of course your fab wardrobe is probably a huge help in one less thing to worry about. I particularly adore #2 (all that crisp white with that smashing tunic on you) and #5 (so sunny!). #5 makes you look sooo tall and lean, very nice. And #1/3 are perfectly casual cool.

  • Sveta replied 8 years ago

He-he Ummlila, I am my own photographer :-) It is much better to take pictures in the natural light, isn't it?
Thanks Aida, things are getting better indeed. You know it is not hard for me to look tall, right? :-)

Glad you're feeling better. I missed some things going on in your life. Sorry about that. So happy to hear things seem to be getting better.

    I love that bright bag!

These outfits are so effortless looking and chic and so your style. I love them all. That bag livens things up. Of course you know I love bold color!

Have a great day and hope life gets easier soon.

I love your style, your poses and your excellent photography. Hope you are feeling better.

  • Jaime replied 8 years ago

Glad things are improving. Your wardrobe stood you well during a trying week - you look fantastic every day. I am partial to the simple outfit with standout color in #1 and #5 but all of them are fab!

  • Diana replied 8 years ago

I really like #5! Simple and chic. Kind of Audrey, don't you think?

    Glad you are feeling better!

  • unfrumped replied 8 years ago

    Oh, WIW! Get more better.
That dress is fantastic. And I think the cropped jeans are just right.
( Pssst... See the oxfords I think you should get)

  • Maneera replied 8 years ago

Glad to hear you're feeling better Sveta. You definitely look great! I love the dress, I love #2 and I lurveeee #5. I shy away from bold colors but you make yellow paired with grey and white so so effortless! :D

Really fab style. Love how easy your outfits look....and I have to say you've got a great bag collection. I tend to notice bags the first thing about anyone (and shoes too, but I understand shoes are often about comfort) and your bags have me drooling over them!

  • Vildy replied 8 years ago

I didn't know what to prepare myself for when I would see the REALLY cropped pants and I chuckled because they're not extreme at all and you look great.

  • Runcarla replied 8 years ago

So cool and fresh looking. I do love that yellow blazer of yours, and the styling of it in #5 is my fave look of a great series.

  • Caro in Oz replied 8 years ago

You look wonderful - so dramatically elegant. So glad things are improving :)

  • lyn67 replied 8 years ago

It's like looking in the fashion magazine, Sveta! Adore your outfits! Légere but cool. Effortlesy put together. Hope you and your  DF are getting better.

I'm so glad things are improving for you Sveta. You are looking amazing despite what life has thrown at you lately. I'm  really loving the colourful dress in #4 and the yellow and grey/blue pairing in #5.

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 8 years ago

Sveta, you look amazing even when you are ill and stressed.  I particularly like the plaid pants on you and know that plaid can be hard to pull off well. I think the length is lovely on you.  Your casual pant outfits remind me of a tall Audrey Hepburn in the classic simplicity.

  • replied 8 years ago

Welcome back, Sveta.  I hope things continue to improve.

  • Daria replied 8 years ago

I'm in love with #1 and #5 - so simple yet refined.
Glad things are starting to look up!

  • Suz replied 8 years ago

Sveta, you look amazing in them all. I hope you are feeling better and you have a clearer idea of what is happening with your dad? Hugs!!!

#1 is simple perfection; that blue on you spells "summer" even if the temperatures don't quite cooperate.

I think you made the absolute right choice with the BR tunic in white -- much better for you.

LOVE the last outfit with the skimmers. That jacket works great with them!

Sveta - nice to see you again - and glad to hear things are improving for you :)  Your WIW pics are so well done too!  Your outfits for that week look perfectly summery and suited to the occasion. I love how you've worn a basic shirt and jeans in #1 - super flattering!

  • Sara L. replied 8 years ago

I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling well.  Glad to hear you're on the mend.  I love the cropped pants and yellow jacket in #5.  So summery even though you're covered up.  The white out outfits is also fab.  I love those silver shoes.

  • jackiec replied 8 years ago

Welcome back, Sveta! Missed you! Glad you are on the mend. Your outdoor photos are fab, and of course you look wonderful in every shot. I love #1 and the simplicity. Those are awesome sandals.

  • Beth Ann replied 8 years ago

So good to see you getting stronger, Sveta, and look fab, as ever!

I'm partial to the wonderful textures and proportions in the white out outfit and the great causal energy of the last look -- love the yellow with grey, and I think the cropped length is perfect.

I hear you on the golf outing --- I have been known to threaten a "karaoke work party" or an "improv party" for the same people who try to drag me onto a golf course.  Let's get them on my turf, so to speak.  Of course, I'm kinda hard core -- I'd like to see all golf courses converted to open parks, lol!

  • AviaMariah replied 8 years ago

You're outfit posts are among my favorites and always inspire me.  I have been eyeing that eyelet tunic from BR.  How does it look with the see through shoulders?  Do you just wear a tank under it?  Also, everything time you wear the GAP jean moto jacket I wonder why mine never gets worn.  In fact, it would totally work with what I'm wearing today.  Maybe I'll try to slip home and lunch and get it.  I haven't been following the boards too closely but I'm glad things are looking up for you health-wise.

  • Ruth M replied 8 years ago

You always look so stylish, Sveta, and everything here looks great to me. I adore your BR eyelet tunic in #2.  Really difficult to pick a favourite - possibly #5 - you look fab in that lovely yellow jacket.

I am glad you are feeling better now.

  • Summer replied 8 years ago

You've had a rough time lately, Sveta.  I'm glad you are feeling better.
All outfits are lovely as ever.

  • Elizabeth P replied 8 years ago

Hey, good to see you again!  I'm glad you are feeling better and returning to "normal" life.

Of course you have a set of wonderful outfits... you always do :).  #4 took my breath away, I loved that dress, esp  paired with that bag.  Gorgeous!  And I LOVE the length of the grey jeans on you... in fact if I were to offer anything to "improve" this set our outfits, it would be to roll the jeans in #1 to the same length as the grey ones.

Funny, I thought it was the Gap resolutions that you were complaining about the stretching of, and was quite surprised that the stretched on you, but not on Angie.  All is clear now :)

  • rachylou replied 8 years ago

You look fab! Amazingly untired (!!) I really like your sandals in particular in #1.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Hah yes I am aware! ;)

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

Oh good heavens, Sveta. (((HUGS))). Hope you feel 100% soon. Awful to feel grotty. Sending healing thoughts to Dad too.

You look fabulous all round. But #2 and #5 are my faves and killer deluxe. I see that we are jeans twins too. Much love to you.

  • Lyn D. replied 8 years ago

I am glad you are feeling better Sveta!
The agonising over the tunic I can understand, and I think you made the perfect choice with the white colour.
    Looking Fab as always!

  • anchie replied 8 years ago

Sorry to hear about difficult period that you been through. But your pictures don't show it, you look fresh and effortless.

  • Sveta replied 8 years ago

Thank you all for your kind words, you have made my day today!:-)
Maneera, this is strange that you shy away from bold colors: I think your coloring is suited very well to high contrast and you would look great in bright colors. Maybe you need another challenge? Maybe adding brighter colors will just add enough spice to your stay at home wardrobe? :-) Also chuckling about your comment on my "great bag collection": I am SOOO not a bag lady!
Vildy - LOL! What I mean is that these jeans are REALLY cropped on me compared to how they are on Angie :-)
Suz, actually it was not me who made a selection of a white tunic over the black - it was fate :-) I could not get a black one in Tall and the sleeves were noticeably shorter in the regular to the point of bugging me. Also the arm holes in regular were cut a bit higher too even if it was the same size. If I could get my hands on M Tall in black I would go with it but it was not meant to be... :-(
Beth Ann, chuckling at your golf comment...although I am not sure I would prefer karaoke to golf :-)
AviaMariah, the eyelet in the white tunic is not very see through. I was wearing just a nude bra today without a cami and the straps were not visible at all. I love this Gap moto jacket. It is its 3rd season now and this is still my go-to jacket. Please wear yours!
Elizabeth - LOL: I am glad it is all sorted out :-)
Angie, I am proud to be a jeans twin with you :-)

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

*happy face* I LOVE my Resolution skinnies.

I'll chime in on your questions on the roundup post in a minute too.
