I still owe you a trip report but I got back from my vacation into a frying pan at work! My relaxed and refreshed post-vacation state lasted until Monday afternoon - not even a day long! I also have to work this weekend :-( The report is coming, I promise!
Anyway here is my WIW report for the first week back - and boy, what pleasure it is to NOT dress out of a single carry on!
Canada welcomed us back with snow and cold so this was definitely a sweater week!
Looking at the pictures I find that I dressed in mostly monochrome outfits with one added color in a single item - completely unintentional I must say.
pic 1 Mostly grey with a punch of orange
Cold day so cashmere sweater was very welcome. Paired with a Halogen grey skirt and layered over a thin wool grey tee. Also grey patterned hose and grey Franco Sarto boots.
pic 2 Black and white
Snow came at night so tall waterproof boots were in order. I was running late so this was my FFBO outfit.
Gap sweater, BR Martin skinny trousers, tall Blondo boots
pic 3 Cream and navy
That was on March 21 - the first official spring day and I decided to wear booties and light colors.
BR Monogram trousers, BR striped sweater, Tahari white shirt, SE Petty python booties.
pic 4 Purple and grey
Snow again. I planned to wear a skirt but in the last minute decided to go with skinnies and boots. I used my Sarah Pacini Pinterest pins as inspiration here - hope it worked.
Purple tunic - Le Chateau, grey cardigan - Gap, greyMartin trousers - BR, Franco Sarto boots, snakeskin belt from a discount store.
As usual all comments and suggestions are welcome.
Have a great weekend!

Mo replied 11 years agoThese are all great, especially #4. I also wear neutrals with sometimes one pop of color, but it's completely on purpose. I can't handle more than one bright at a time lol.

TraceyLiz65 replied 11 years agoMy favorite is #4, that purple is amazing on you! I also like outfit #1 and the color combo of the grey with orange.
-
Eliza replied 11 years agoLike them all. Two and four really have that Sveta wow factor. The perfect fit of your boots takes great outfits to the next level.
-
Ingunn replied 11 years agoI know how it is in the frying pan - sigh! Good luck with the weekend catch up. I love all outfits, but #4 is my favorite if I must choose. You look so effortless chic in all of these.

Ornella replied 11 years agoSveta, Sveta, Sveta... this is exactly why we miss you when you disappear. What a perfect round. Clever, fantastic combinations which you wear so effortlessly; fab individual pieces which always look new. Wonderful. I, of course, want to copy everything but before that I have to steal everything (especially your BF ;-) )
I'm sorry to hear the work had swallowed you, but I hope the batteries have been recharged enough to sail through the transition back to work. -
replied 11 years agoLove all four outfits. You look great and I am sorry work has been crazy!

Krista replied 11 years agoWelcome back, Sveta! These outfits are fab fab fab. #1 and #4 are my faves. I can't believe those boots are Franco Sarto - I love that brand but I haven't seen that style. Are they a recent purchase? They are a perfect neutral boot!

Thistle replied 11 years agoAll four outfits are so fab, Sveta. I am really loving 2 and 4. And welcome home!! Sorry Canada's weather is less than inviting.

marianna replied 11 years agoWow, these outfits are super. So simplistic yet chic and strong. Love!

Liz A. replied 11 years agoFranco Sarto makes beautiful shoes but they seem to run narrow to me. And I have narrow feet!

Angie replied 11 years agoSveta, I have missed you so much! I can't wait to hear about your trip :)
I made it past precisely one outfit before I had to faint from your insatiable fabness. That would be #1. That's how to de-bombshell a pencil with rugby stripes. WOW!
*faints* -
Day Vies replied 11 years agoSorry about the frying pan feeling :-( but you look so chic and fashionable. I love them all but #1 and #3 are my favorites. I love the pop of orange with the gray in #1 I also love the proportions and texture with the neutral tall boots. #3 is definitely androgynous chic and I love it with stripes. The snake print details add texture and the white trousers just say ahhhh -- refreshing and spring. Marking for copying and inspiration:-)

Kyle replied 11 years agoYou look like a long cool drink of water in outfit 4. Layered winter fabness. One of your best.

The grey hose are such an interesting addition of texture, and that skirt looks to fit to perfection. -

Beth Ann replied 11 years agoWe've missed you, Sveta! You've certainly attacked a difficult week with top of line style. Brava! I'm particularly partial to #1. Love the color pop and the boots.
BTW --- You look taller. Did you grow on vacation? Change your camera placement? lol

Joy replied 11 years agoYou look fantastic! I'm living out of a duffle out of a carryon in order to fit luggage into a station locker on a side trip. Right now I'd like to toss everything . It will be so good to see my closet again.
the first outfit is my favorite. -
Sveta replied 11 years agoAt last I am off the weekend work and can reply on your lovely comments.
Thank you so much for them, they really made my working weekend day a bit easier.
Krista, these grey boots are Franco Sarto. I bought then in the fall of 2010 and they were my favorite tall boots for 2 seasons. They also came in black but it is this grey color which made them so special.
Liz, I also did not have much luck with Franco Sarto brand because my feet are on the wider side but these boots are very generous in size. Ideally I would need to go 1/2 size down in them but they did not come in half sizes so I had to add inserts.
Angie, I missed you too! The trip report is coming, I promise. I just have to go through 5000 pictures my hubby took...:-(
Beth Ann, I hope you are wrong - I cannot afford to get taller, I have troubles finding long enough clothes already!:-)
Joy, I get what you mean so well! I was not in a hurry to launder all my trip clothes because I don't want to see any of them for a while - even my favorite slouchy trousers!
-
Scarlet replied 11 years agoAh, I see how well those booties work on you (3)! Great to have the visual. Your first outfit is very striking, but for some reason I am loving the chic simplicity of 2. I Iike 4 as well.
-
Sveta replied 11 years agoScarlet, I hope you keep the pythons. I find the pattern striking but not loud. I have quite a few outfits with them in my YLF blog - with full length pants, cropped or rolled up jeans and skirts. I LOVE these booties!
-
Jaime replied 11 years agoEyes popping out! All four are so stylish and interesting and showcase your stunning good looks!
-
rae replied 11 years agoBig love! Especially the one with the orange sweater and patterned tights. Summer hasen't even happened yet and you have me longing for Fall again! I cannot wait to hear about the trip. :D
