Just have to share: dance dresses!!!

I got an email from The Bay last week that this is the final day of the sale on special occasion dresses and decided to have a look. After all with our dancing I am on the lookout to expand my dancing capsule. I especially wanted to get a long gown for our annual Christmas Gala dance. I ALWAYS wanted a long gown but before had absolutely no occasions to wear it to. Now I have plenty and at last can justify it! :-)

I ended up buying 3 dresses - 2 long and one midi. The midi is the same style and brand as I already have in the floral pattern so I knew the fit will be good. For the long gown I will keep only one.

Two of them came today and I just have to share! Please excuse the bra exposure :-(
The colors in the picture little lighter and brighter than IRL because of the flash. The blue is nice dark navy - and it has a brooch. So on trend! :-)
The red is exactly the true red color I love and which is so hard to find. I love this dress! I was afraid that it will not have enough freedom to move for dancing but it is fine. The only thing I would need to change (if I decide to keep it) is to shorten it: it puddles on the floor on the back which looks great but deadly for dancing.

I am still waiting for another long dress to arrive and will share it too! :-)

Thanks for looking and sharing in my joy!!!

Hello Grecian goddess! WOW! Stunning Sveta.

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 9 years ago

    So far, so VERY good!

  • Aida replied 9 years ago

Wooo lady those are smashing on you! Love that loooong red dress in particular. How high up is the slit? Looks like it goes up high enough to give you plenty of motion range.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Don't you dare let either of those beauties get away. I can imagine both looking amazing on the dance floor and they are certainly looking elegant and gorgeous on you.

  • carolbee replied 9 years ago

    Wow, wow, wow!

THE RED IS KILLER TO THE POWER OF KILLER. WOW. WOW. WOW.

(I had to chime in with my sore arm to tell you).

  • celia replied 9 years ago

Both dresses are gorgeous. And the last one seems also beautiful.

  • unfrumped replied 9 years ago

The red dress is just classically beautiful( with umyouvwearingbit) and a perfect fit. You can't let it get away, as it is a great formal alone, and a bonus if can dance in it.
The blue is also great, in a wonderful swirly dancer way. I'll bet it looks great in motion.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

    WOW!!!!

Don't you DARE send that red one back. If you ask me, you deserve to keep them all. Because I love the blue one, too.

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 9 years ago

WOW WOW WOW!  Talk about killer lady in red.  Sveta you look stunning in both but the red is jaw dropping drop dead gorgeous.

  • Runcarla replied 9 years ago

You are gorgeous. The blue midi is stunningly perfect while the red is knock-out gorgeous. Now that's living for the way you want to dress!

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

They are both stunning, as are you :) :)

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

You were made to wear this kind of dress!

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 9 years ago

    Gorgeous!

  • Gigi replied 9 years ago

    Lovely, just lovely!

I joined a ballroom dancing studio last year and am having so much fun dressing up. We just had a recital-type thingy last weekend, and I got to wear a gown. I too am looking to add to my dance capsule. Lots of sparkling things, like that brooch, are a must! I need to find some big sparkly earrings for my next event. :)

  • Ginkgo replied 9 years ago

Fab shoulders! You were made for these dresses.

  • CocoLion replied 9 years ago

You are so lucky to find two amazing dresses that work for both dancing AND formal occasions.  What shopping Kismet, and to find them on sale all fitting perfectly too.  You need to post a YouTube Haul video ASAP!!!

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

K2K! Perfect choices! Both! YLgorgeous! Happy dance(pun intended:-)) for fulfilling a girl's dream! Can't wait to see the black one, I guess will be impossible to decide for only one:-)).

  • approprio replied 9 years ago

Wowsers! Truly sensational. Don't need to see the black to stake all my chips on red. :P

  • rute replied 9 years ago

OMG! You look amazing! That red dress is perfect, love the color on you!

  • Maneera replied 9 years ago

You are a vision of beauty in both dresses. Stunning!!!!

  • Summer replied 9 years ago

So beautiful and glamorous, Sveta.  Your feet won't touch the floor in these beauties.

  • Brooklyn replied 9 years ago

You look uber gorgeous! The red dress in particular is stunning on you. But the blue is also fab-arama. What great finds.

  • viva replied 9 years ago

Amazing, Sveta. Just stunning. You were made for this kind of clothing. Honestly that red dress on you is the most gorgeous thing ever.

  • Aquamarine replied 9 years ago

I gasped when I clicked on the photos! Absolutely stunning, like they were made for you.

You took my breathe away! I adore you in the blue, it is just gorgeous. And the red! Keepers for sure.

  • replied 9 years ago

    Absolutely stunning!!!

Gorgeous--and you have occasion to wear them. Please keep them both and enjoy. You look amazing in these, Sveta.

  • donnat replied 9 years ago

    Wow! Both dresses are killer!

  • Janet replied 9 years ago

Holy cannoli. You look truly amazing in both of these. You must keep both. Wow!

  • Glory replied 9 years ago

What excellent style and taste you have. I vote to keep them all. Spectacular!

  • Sara L. replied 9 years ago

Those are both beautiful dresses that fit you wonderfully.

  • AJ replied 9 years ago

WOWIE ZOWIE!! Both are keepers and GORGEOUS on you! I wish we could see you dancing in these dresses!

  • Peri replied 9 years ago

OMGL, keep both! We know how hard it is to find street clothes you can dance in and if you wear dresses to socials they will get a lot of use. On top of that, they also look "normal" enough for regular wear should the occasion arise.

Now...you are going to have to do a studio showcase in that blue one. Absolutely! I haven't done a showcase in years because I'm now completely comp focused, but I remember they are tons of fun and do wonders for your confidence!

  • cjh replied 9 years ago

You're made for these dresses. Buy even more.

  • Susie replied 9 years ago

Yes....all of the things mentioned above....stunning, killer, wow, gorgeous, made for you. and most importantly....KEEP!!!!!!!

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Ah, I knew I can count on YLF sisterhood to share the dress joy with me :-) Thank you all so much, your kind words and compliments made my day today!
Peri, I had to decypher your note. My first thought about "I'm now completely comp focused" was "what does dancing have to do with computers?" :-) and then I realized that "comp" must be from competition :-) I am impressed that you are doing competitions, I cannot even imagine the amount of work and time (and maybe money) required for this. No, we are much less ambitious (at least for now). We joined non-profit ballroom dance club, take group lessons there and going to different dances in the city. We may consider private lessons later but for now we just have fun! :-)
Aida, the front slit on the red dress is above the knees and the skirt is not straight so there is a lot of movement ease.
Angie, you are a sweetheart and I hope you poor arm will not regret this.

Gigi, dancing is so much fun, isn't it? For sparkly earrings and such I always check inexpensive stores like Ardene: thi is the occasion when bling is really welcome - the more the better :-).

  • Nebraskim replied 9 years ago

So very very fab on you. Both dresses are gorgeous and you look stunning. I hope you thoroughly enjoy wearing them.

  • Peri replied 9 years ago

Ha...that's how we started, 10 years ago. It just escalates, bwaaahhaaaaa! :)

But does your studio do shows? The one we started in included group showcase dances for the group class. If you get the chance, do it! I was so scared to do our first one, but one of my friends said "if my husband would dance with me I'd do anything!" and that gave me the courage. The thing about showcases that is so encouraging is that everyone there supports you and there is so much cheering. The less advanced are admiring of your courage and start to believe they can do it too. The more advanced remember being there and cheer for anyone who makes the effort. There is no downside! Do it if the opportunity comes up.

  • Aida replied 9 years ago

Showcase dances are a hoot, if your studio does them I agree with Peri, you should give it a whirl (haaah~).

  • Bonnie replied 9 years ago

Wow - both dresses are beautiful - makes me want to take up dance.

  • Lyn D. replied 9 years ago

    Simply beautiful!

  • abc replied 9 years ago

    PLONK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    OH

    MY

    GOODNESS!!!

Excuse me while I pick myself up off the floor of my office.

Holy COW Sveta.  You look AMAZING.

I saw the first pics and was almost afraid to keep clicking, for fear that nothing could live up to the first dress.  But yowza, the second is just as amazing!!!

PLEASE go dance many nights, wear and enjoy these dresses and how they make you look and feel.  Seriously you look like a million bucks.

  • abc replied 9 years ago

Ok wait, just looked at the finds and there is a Lauren dress tagged.  I actually own that same dress in a short version, didn't know it came in a long one........that dress is really quite amazing (at least for me) so if you were considering it, I highly recommend it!

  • Momo replied 9 years ago

    Beautiful, elegant... Just stunning.

  • MsMaven replied 9 years ago

Oh wow! I thought the blue was gorgeous on you and couldn't be topped, then I went to the red. Stunniing! What great finds for you.

Tell us about those metallic shoes too. They look quite danceable.

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

MsMaven, unfortunately these shoes are not danceable: they will not stay on my feet. :-( It was just to take pictures.

  • replied 9 years ago

You are beyond beautiful in those dresses.  As I mentioned in another post, I can imagine the movement of the dress as you dance.
