Zara floral moto - just for fun!

I saw this moto from Angie's roundup on crazyone in Boston's Zara but did not try one myself. however when I was ordering some other jackets from Zara I decided to try this one as well - just for fun :-0
It came and here it is for your viewing pleasure. I really like the fabric, very nice texture and not heavy for summer and the floral pattern is nice watercolor-like. It is quite short on me (shorter than on the model) but it should work as a cropped moto.
...but...I think it will go back. Patterned jacket is fun but I find it not very versatile for my wardrobe. I have a lot of patterned tops and dresses in summer and it does not work well with them. Also I already have  white, grey and faded denim moto jackets which are pretty cropped as well...but it was fun to try!

I hope you liked my fashion show :-)

It's great, but if it's not going to work.
But seriously, those jeans, are absolutely fantastic on you.

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Wonderful jacket!  I understand that patterned jackets have limitations -- thanks for sharing it!

I second Anna -- those jeans are amazing on you!

  • Gigi replied 10 years ago

Fun! I think these try-ons are valuable for the forum, because someone might see that jacket and wonder about its length, etc. It's nice to see a garment in action before buying.

  • Jjsloane replied 10 years ago

Nice show. I love the colors. I think crazyone tried this in Boston but also passed on it. Too cropped. NEXT as Angie would say.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Anna and Beth Ann - thanks. These are Paige Canyon flares I bought at the Rack 2 years ago. I hope to wear them more this season.
Jeanne, yes, crazyone did try it on but passed because she did not think she needs it - what an iron will that gal has, it was beautiful on her!

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

Wow, your iron will is admirable - the jacket is beautiful on you - but onto better things! :)

I love this jacket in photos and went to Zara to try it but it so wasn't me in person (I knew it was a bit of a wildcard for my style). The fit is better on you, but you definitely need to be feeling this one 100%.
But when this jacket finds its fabber, it will be a great thing!

  • Gracie replied 10 years ago

Amazing jeans!!!! Floral jacket is cute but you have better.

  • Susie replied 10 years ago

That jacket tempted me! It would definitely be a wild card as I don't normally go for florals but I love that shade of blue. Cropped on tall and svelte you might work on short and not so svelte me?!

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

I agree with Anna about the jeans!! Your legs seriously look hot in them!

I liked the fashion show :) .... The jacket is a gorgeous color combo but if it doesn't work for you ... Back it goes! Very wise decision :)

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Sveta it's a gorgeous jacket and I love the colours in the jacket. I like the length and the shape in particular and it does look fab with those jeans. But if you have assessed it wont work with your overall wardrobe so be it:) Thanks for the fashion show.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

It looked great on Crazyone and looks equally great on you. I agree about the nice texture of the fabric. Zara can surprise you that way sometimes. Always worth checking out.

I actually find patterned jackets really useful because I have a lot of plain tops. So I like to have at least one in rotation. I still have my Zara floral from last year but it may go to consignment as I may be ready for a change.

  • Janet replied 10 years ago

You have so much discipline! That jacket is amazing on you, and I agree you also look spectacular in those jeans. I could have guessed they were Paige!

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

Oh Sveta I love this on you! I think it is supposed to be a cropped length. I tried it on in Boston, but oddly enough it was longer on me than on the model. I couldn't close it at the bottom, so NEXT!

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 10 years ago

Love it and definitely admire your strength if it doesn 't meet your purchasing goals...

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

That's one of the best jackets at Zara at the moment. The fabric is sensational, and the spaced floral soooooo modern. You look fantastic in it too, Sveta.

You know what to do. Send it back. xo

  • replied 10 years ago

I agree with Anna, love those jeans!!!

  • Kristin L replied 10 years ago

I have to agree as well. But your jeans look great!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Oh I wish you'd all stop showing me these gorgeous Zara jackets. My resolve is weakening...

  • replied 10 years ago

You look awesome, Sveta! God, I love how you styled it.

  • columbine(erin) replied 10 years ago

You look fantastic in those jeans.

  • crazyone replied 10 years ago

oh, Sveta, the jacket looks great on you too!  (though much more cropped on tall you than on short me)  But I think we passed on it for similar reasons.  I have a LOT of jackets and I am just not sure the pattern is versatile enough with my clothing, which is often patterned or in colors that I'm not sure would go with the jacket.

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

I love the shape and cut of the jacket for you but I agree , I am not sure the print goes well with your personal style. If the print were more abstract or graphic I think it would be more you and as a result be more versatile in your wardrobe.
Can I just say you look absolutely FABULOUS in those dark washed jeans? (Don't hurt anybody who may happen to look your way while wearing those jeans ;-))

  • viva replied 10 years ago

Sveta, I LOVE the jacket on you with these jeans! The popped collar and cuffs -- so dramatic! Send it back if you must but thank you for sharing first. Just gorgeous.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Thank you all for the comments and endorsing these flared jeans on me. I did not feel them much last year and as a result wore them just a few times. Now i feel kind of rekindled love for them (which may be an aftermath of losing some weight and these jeans going from "too snug" to "just perfect" fit :-) )
I think I could have made this jacket work for me but I feel this is not what I really need at the moment. I have passed on the Gap tweed patterned moto for the same reason - does not play as nicely with my other things. I would love to find a cropped bomber with some texture rather than pattern (like lace, jacquard, brocade, etc.) but i have not been so lucky with this style yet.
Susie, you should try this moto, you never know - it may work awesome for you. As Angie said the quality is quite good for this price.
Suz, I don't know why but so far patterned jackets have not found their way into my closet - how about this one for you if you want to refresh your current floral one?
Karie, if you could not close it on the bottom I think you should have tried a bigger size; this one is not fitted at all.
Angie, I do - and thanks for the validation :-)
Shannon, why don't you try it on? Just for fun you know... :-)
C1, exactly, i do think we are passing it for he same reason.
DV, you may be right here that this particular print is not much me?
You know, if I did not get the navy Gap moto I may have kept this floral moto from Zara. However I find that the navy one is matching my style and wardrobe much better so here we go.

    Thanks again for playing along!

  • Aida replied 10 years ago

Sveta how did you find the sizing on this jacket? I don't have a Zara near me and would also like to try this jacket. I'm sort-of between sizes (due to shoulders), but would rather not order so many sizes if I can get away with it ;)

  • Sharon replied 10 years ago

The jacket is fabulous - great shape and pretty pattern. I get what you are saying about pattern clashing though, I had the same dilemma. It seems if any item of your wardrobe has a pattern, you need lots of plains to wear it with. I have been wondering if maybe I should restrict patterns to one element of my wardrobe (eg. tops OR pants OR jackets) to avoid this.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Aida, I went for XL  - and I am usually between 10 and 12. XL was roomy but not overly so.

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

Fun jacket and you are so wise to stick with what you need.  A wildcard purchase is no good, if it cannot remix into your wardrobe.  And I echo others, those jeans are stunning on you.

  • AviaMariah replied 10 years ago

I have been eyeing that jacket and I just love it on you.  It's so dramatic and I love the cropped length.  But if it must go...((sob))).
