WIW: yellow, blue, and white

We are doing a big landscaping project this summer including building a deck so my free time is going to be very scarce on the coming weekends. I will try to post my weekly WIW just to keep myself motivated but I may not be online much otherwise. I apologize for this in advance! :-)
Also sorry for my disheveled look in pcs 2 and 4 - they were taken right after we came home from the gym.

I am trying to wear this white sheath more often now before it is too hot for it. I really like bright yellow and white together, it did brighten up the gloomy and rainy day.

I am struggling with this Anthro denim shirt I got in Chicago last spring. I like the tencel fabric and its drape and I like high / low style but these sleeves drive me crazy! The fabric does not have stretch in it and while sleeves are not tight they are a bit constricting, especially when I try to scrunch them up and have to have my arms bended. Also the cuffs do not have buttons and opening so they are very hard to scrunch and I have to roll them up. I am considering to take the sleeves off to see if I can wear it more this way but I am also ready to pass it on even though it was not a cheap buy.
I am also not sure if these skinny Martin pants do me any favors. Maybe my eye adjusted to looser fit now but I am not sure they are flattering on me - too tight?
The grey Trouve oxfords are living through their last summer I think: Portugal's rain and cobble stones really did them in! I hope I can find a good replacement at NAS this year...

pic 3 Angie's copycat
Ever since Angie posted her red skirt / blue shirt outfit last week I wanted to copy it. I don't have a red skirt so I substituted for a yellow one. My pale blue shirt with white trim is still going strong - even though I wish it was longer...

Pink pants again! First time I paired them with black, red and animal print. This time I decided to add white, burgundy and gold. They are still new for me so I am not sure if I got it right this time. What do you think?

This is the only mesh sweater I have. I decided to wear it today with BF jeans. I did struggle with the tank to wear under. I tried white and it was too light and low cut neck so I did not like it. Then I tried this purple one with a square neckline and I think it works much better. Too bad the sleeves of the sweater do stretch out a lot - it does bother me.

This was my week. As I said above this weekend is landscaping work so I will not offend you with any outfits :-)
Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Oh my, Sveta! I love each and every one of these. The burgundy is really nice with the blush pants. Could you slit/open the cuff seam a few inches on the Anthro blouse so it would open some and be easier to roll?

Oh, and have "fun" landscaping : )

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Thanks pil. Unfortunately these sleeves cannot be altered - I already asked my mom about this :-(

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

You WIWs are great looking and inspirational. I don't think I can pick a favorite, but enjoyed your version of Angie's outfit with the yellow skirt and your pink pants outfit. I'm wearing my blush pants today with a silk purple top and the MeToo Adam Tucker flats in rosewood.

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

You're using such sophisticated and beautiful color combinations these days, Sveta.  Love the yellow blazer --- it's one of my favorites in your wardrobe.  I wish I had the sweater to copy #5 -- casual BF perfection!

  • replied 10 years ago

I love the Calvin Klein sheath dress! Gorgeous with your Monty bag too! I really feel your pain on the tencel shirt. I am having the same issues with a favorite (for it's looks anyway) blouse of mine. I will look for stretch in the future!

I love your holey sweater too. That tank looks perfect under it. I think the stretch-out factor is part of the charm of these sweaters. It must be what makes them hang and drape so beautifully. Great week Sveta!

I LoVE 4 and 5 in particular, but you look great in all of these!

Hope the deck goes up easily! We are constructing a bathroom in the basement and also planning a deck for later in the summer!

Who would have thought the pink khakis could be so versatile? #4 is my favourite with #5 as a close second. Light blue shirt with yellow skirt looks awesome.
Have fun landscaping and drop by whenever you have some free time.

  • replied 10 years ago

What fab outfits Sveta! I agree with Beth Ann, your colour combos are indeed very sophisticated. My favourite looks are 3 and 5. Happy landscaping!

  • Gabrielle replied 10 years ago

I absolutely LOVE every single one of your looks.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Sveta, you always look amazing and always look new! You're such an inspiration.

My absolute knock-down favourites here are #3 and #5. That holey sweater is just terrific. And you are so fresh and pretty in the yellow and blue that I could scream.

Bizarre thought. Would there be any way to wear the yellow jacket and yellow skirt together as a sort of off-beat "suit"? I know the yellows clash a bit -- and perhaps IRL that clash is too much. But I was just thinking it would be really cool to tie them together with some sort of patterned top perhaps -- it would be so different. Probably a non-starter. But worth mulling.

  • Tanya replied 10 years ago

Wow Sveta, each and every of these outfits is gorgeous!  I am especially impressed with #3 and #5, and love the idea of pairing blush and burgundy.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

#1 blows me away!! WOW. But I love it all! You know I do. #1, #3, #4 and #5 are an 11 out of 10. Like how you are mixing blush with burgundy. So clever!

(Btw, I'm wearing the blue shirt in #3 today with blue BF jeans, white belt and pumps - or flats depending on how much I walk :))

I vote pass on your orphan denim shirt and lets find you another. xox

  • Nicole D replied 10 years ago

Just.so.Fab. Angie clone in #3. Inspirational is the right word. Love that white blazer.

  • trinity replied 10 years ago

Sveta, I absolutely love your style! I especially loved seeing the Adam Tucker Me Too flats in #5.  I'm anxiously awaiting the ones I ordered in Rosewood based on the recommendations of you and Joy.

  • DeclawedJaguar replied 10 years ago

Number 1 knocked me out with its beauty, so I couldn't see past it. :D Also love the holey sweater ensemble on you. Actually, I love them all.

If you do decide to get rid of the Anthro shirt, consider listing it for sale on this blog. It's devoted exclusively to Antho garb. Every week, there is a trade market post, where people sell or buy their Anthro things. That way you could recoup some of your costs and move on to a better shirt. You could also offer it up in the Style Exchange here.

I love seeing your wiw s. They are very inspirational.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Thank you all for the comments!
Joy, I want to see you blush pants outfit!
Beth Ann, Diane G, Gabrielle, Tanya, Nicole Donnat - thanks!
Claire, it is sleeves which get stretched in the sweater when I scrunch them up - and then they do not stay up because they are stretched out. I need to come up with some solution for this...
Ceit, we should exchange our deck experiences later this summer!
Mona, indeed, who would have thought that. These pink pants do not go with everything in my closet but I can think of quite a few combinations.
Suz, of course I have already tried the yellow jacket with yellow skirt - alas, they don't go together well. The problem is not that they are different shades of yellow but That jacket is a bright and clear color and the skirt is very muted "mudded" color. When paired together jacket makes skirt look even muddier - not a good thing.
Angie, an idea to mix blush and burgundy came from one of you Pinterest pins :-) I hear your order on the Anthro shirt, my captain!
Trinity, I hope these flats will work for you, they are very comfortable.
DJ, thanks for the link but I don't think I want the hassle of it. My sister and
niece are coming to visit us this summer and maybe one of them like this shirt?

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

My favorites are #1 and #4 but you look gorgeous every day.

  • Nicola replied 10 years ago

Number 5! And that bright and happy bag- lovely.

  • Jjsloane replied 10 years ago

You've done it again. I really like 1, 3 and 5 best, but all are winners. How annoying about the sleeves on that blouse  - it is nice on you (without the annoyance). I don't think the pants are unflattering, it's just you're now used to the baggier look.

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

#1-Great outfit.  Your recent yellow blazer outfits made me pull my green blazer that's been an orphan so far this season out of my donate pile.  It was a workhorse last year but it's been sitting all season this year.  I think I have to try remixing it with some neutrals as you've been doing with your yellow one.  Last year I always paired my green blazer with stripes and blues. Thanks for some great ideas!

#2-Nice outfit but if the top is not working fit wise, I vote pass.  There are too many choices in the stores for denim shirts to struggle with one.

#3-The yellow and blue is lovely here.  A classic outfit with a twist because of the colroed skirt.

#4-How clever to pair the burgundy with pink, I would never have thought of doing this but they go very well together.

#5-I really like the layering here, the darker color is perfect under the grey. And the bright bag is a nice pop of color for this outfit.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Sveta - you are getting so much fabulous wear with the yellow blazer. I find I'm not reaching for it as often as I had hoped. I need to get inspiration from your fab outfits with it.

  • Ornella replied 10 years ago

Sveta, I have bookmarked this thread to come back to it in spare time. It is such a good round I can't just leave it untouched, youknowwhatimean.

You look so fantastic and if I lived or worked next to you I would certainly make sure you know I notice the thought and care you put in your outfits. Every piece carefully chosen, beautifully balanced, one never overwhlems another, just perfect. Such a visual feast.

And there is such variety every single time you post, it is just so delicious and inspiring at the same time. You look so fab.

  • Debora replied 10 years ago

Oh my gosh, you are amazing, Sveta! All these are fabulous, but outfit #5 makes me swoon. The mesh sweater and the BF jeans are so cool. I really wanted those flats but they didn't work for my narrow feet. I will enjoy them on you. You look so gorgeous in your white sheath with the yellow jacket. Wow!

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

Sveta- you look so good in all of these outfits. I am particularly drawn to 3,4 and 5. You have such a deft touch with subtle details, especially powerful in 4 where the choice of colors, plus the belt/shoes combo bowled me over. Unexpected, gorgeous and full of what I have come to consider your signature elements. Your mesh sweater combo is awesome!

    Best with your deck project!

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

Love them all, but #1 just blew me away!! So fab!

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

#1 and #3 are so sharp! I swerved over just to say so :D

  • columbine(erin) replied 10 years ago

I would never think to put burgundy and blush together, but you look fab!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Shevia, Nicola, Thistle, Rachy, columbine - thank you!
Jjsloane, I think you are right and my eye just re-adjusted to a looser look.
Lisa, I am glad your green blazer has a chance again!
Shannon, this is so strange, this yellow jacket is amazing on you. Can it be because sleeves do not stay scrunched? This is the only thing which annoys me about it. I really think I will ask my mom to narrow them a bit.
Ornella, thank you for such a beautiful comment. I can only wish that you lived or worked nearby, it would be so much fun!
Debora, it is true that one person's loss is another person's gain. I have such hard time to find shoes wide enough for my feet that I was ecstatic these fit me. I am sure narrower fab flats will come along for you!
Eliza, thank you. My style tend to a minimal one later and I think it makes me to pay more attention to details without even realizing it. I just throw things together and then tweak them until it looks right but for the life of me I cannot explain what it is which makes it right :-)
