WIW: white and cobalt for a winter cheer

I am on the team wear so this week saw my latest wardrobe editions.

I have already posted this outfit earlier this week for a satchel frenzy but here it is again for a full week measure.
Only Mine cashmere sweater - NAS
Martin slouchy trousers - Banana Republic
Red Munro booties - NAs
Dove satchel - Danier

Of course I wanted to use my new Danier satchel that day but we had a yoga practice in the evening so I needed a tote to carry everything to work. BUT it was a debut of my Gap cobalt moto! Love it and the only alteration I am considering now is to make sleeves zipper openings so I can cuff them if I want to. This grey sweater tunic is in its 4th season. I wore it a lot for the first 2 years with skinnies but last year it almost did not see any action as I switched from skinnies to slouchies. I think this season I am loving both so it will have a chance to come out more often.
Grey sweater tunic - Max Studio
Cobalt wool moto jacket - Gap
NYDJ ponte pants - NAS
Blondo tall boots
Danier silver tote

More cobalt! I got these cobalt trousers from hem tapering and now I can wear them all winter long! It was a blistery cold day (Shannon will laugh of course that I call -20C with windchill blistery cold ) so it was bundling up. I wanted to wear my black booties here but their style just does not work for me anymore so I went with cognac ones. I made a decision to dye them after all: dark blue will work much better for me than cognac now. debut of my new black satchel too and a bonus shot of my black coat. Also mixing metals - gold of the bag and silver of the belt :-)
Cobalt wool trousers - Banana Republic
Ink boxy t-neck - Club Monaco
Vaneli cognac booties
Danier black satchel
Danier black wool coat

Today was a sick leave from work for performing a gastroscopy :-( I wanted to be comfortable and toasty in the cold: as they use a full anesthesia it was important to be warm on the way home.
Chunky cream t-neck - Gap
Martin grey skinny trousers - Banana Republic
Born combat boots

Thank you so much for looking and have a great weekend! As usual all suggestions and comments are very much appreciated :-)

ETA: just for comparison I am attaching the pictures of those cobalt trousers before the final alteration. Pic 6 - original trouser cut from the store, pic 7 - tapered a bit to straight leg, pic 4 - tapered even more. See the difference? I am that picky about the perfect style and fit :-)

ETAA:  I just thought how funny picture 3 is because it shows what those cobalt trousers started: the coat, the bag and the booties were all added to my wardrobe to go with those trousers! :-)

All fab outfits Sveta.  I don't think I can even pick a favorite!!  I love the cobalt skinnies with the black coat.  The first outfit with the cashmere sweater is so elegant, love the faux tuck and belt.  I love the gap tunic and looks great.  Bags fab.  You have an amazing wardrobe and you wear clothes so well!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

The cobalt trousers are amazing. I am wowed by that outfit most of all. Killer to the power of killer. How elegant are you in that maxi coat. I am still wowing. xo

  • MRL replied 10 years ago

Love all of these looks, especially photo #2. Oh and handbag lover that I am, I could not help notice the great bags.

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

Great outfits & I agree with Angie #3 is just amazingly fab. I hope you are loving that coat because it loves you :) :)

    Love the cobalt trousers!!

You look great in all of these.

Of course I think 3 is great too! Love the dotty sweater and the cobalt moto outfits too. Interesting reflection on the style of bottoms one feels like wearing influencing tops staying in out out of rotation. I dont often thinks about this but I should! It is hard to tell from the picture, have you left some open eyelets at the top of the combat boots in 5 and tied lower down? Another fantastic week, and I do hope you are recovering alright.

  • E replied 10 years ago

These are all so gorgeous! It was fascinating to see the 'evolution' of those cobalt trousers. And your new cobalt jacket fits you so perfectly! I hope you recover quickly from the procedure.

Angie, wow - thanks for K2K rating! I knew it was a reason why my poor mom had to alter those trousers TWICE (see added "before" pictures).
griffin, Ceit and MRL - thank you.
Caro - I do love the coat and I think I don't mind it being black anymore :-)Sarah, I did have the upper eyelet open on the boots - good eye!:-)

  • Aquamarine replied 10 years ago

They are all fabulous but 2 is my favorite!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

I am beaming to be the godmother of a K2K. Ha! Told you it was the right thing to buy that coat...not that your arm needed twisting too hard, I will admit.

What a fabulous week of outfits. I adore every single one. And I must admit, apart from #3, which is of course incomparable, I feel a special fondness for #2. The silhouette feels fresh all over again and looks just spectacular on you. Here is a case when hanging onto an item turned out to be a really good idea.

Good call on your decision to dye the booties. You will love them in blue. And I like the new taper on the cobalt trousers. They look great in all versions, actually, but it is so much smarter to be able to get longer wear from them.

Also, I feel your pain. We had only -14 but it was BITTER cold with the wind and I still maintain the damp gets into your bones more than the dry cold does.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

ETA - hope you do not feel too badly from the procedure and anaesthetic.

  • MuseumGal replied 10 years ago

    Cobalt.  Leather.  Jacket.
    Falls over dead with longing.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Like I said - we all need a Mama Sveta. xo

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

I must've missed the thread, you are keeping both bags?  Neat!  Thanks for posting the comparison of the cobalt trousers, I am always amazed at the difference a few tweaks can make for the look of an outfit.  I really like your new cobalt items and can't wait to see them remixed with some lighter colors (maybe white or ivory?) next time!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Suz, you are the official Godmother of my Danier coat!
As for the cobalt trousers I feel them much more in the tapered version: somehow the bold color looks better to my eye with the edgier style.
Lisa, I am leaning towards keeping the both bags. The black one has the tags off already and made it out of the house once. The dove one is still with tags, I want to see now if I feel inclined to use it over the black and if I do then the tags will be off too!
MuseumGal, the cobalt moto is wool, not leather.
And thank you all who wished me speedy recovery after the test. It was pretty good, I did not feel a thing afterwards. Unfortunately the test uncovered a problem I need to deal with now and which may make this test required on an annual basis :-(.

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

Sorry to hear that Sveta, but I believe it is better to know than not to.
Your cobalt Moto is so lovely and bright for Winter.
(-20C is incomprehensible to me! Our coldest Winter nights here are between  0 and 10C, and we only have snow on mountain tops!)

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Lyn, it is definitely better to know and I hope something can be done about it - thanks for the therapy.  Oh, and I cannot imagine living in a climate where winters do not have snow on the ground! :-)
