They were definitely meant to be yours...great story!
I love them with the sandals you chose.

Suz replied 9 years ago
OMG!!!!
SVETA!!! I am spanking your bottom.
And laughing so hard. These were meant to be yours, they look so fantastic!!
Love the entire outfit.
You know...you have curves, but you are elliptical and have the short hair, longer neck, etc. And smaller bust. This is what helps with a button down. I think they may be harder for round vs. elliptical body types.
-
Gracie replied 9 years ago
You needed these! The outfit is perfection. I'm tempted to buy the pants now...
-
Sveta replied 9 years ago
Thanks windchime and Neel.
Suz, I am quite round on the bottom but maybe elliptical on top (because of the small bust and wide shoulders)?
-
MsLuna replied 9 years ago
Looking fab, Sveta! And no, button downs are not just for straighter bodies! For some more rounded folks (busty (sort of) apple types, the trick is finding more fluid fabric!

Love them! So glad you snagged a pair!

Tanya replied 9 years ago
You look gorgeous Sveta! So glad you got the pants and they work so well for you. And would you believe it or not, I also have the same kitty shirt :). I might copy this outfit soon.
-
Suz replied 9 years ago
"Round" is for people who look bigger from the side. You look wider from the front.
I also have a bum and thighs, BTW. When I look down at myself, that is pretty much all I see...but it's relative.
And yes....less curvy on top, more curvy on the bottom is completely possible -- this is what defines pretty pear!

You look so fabulous. I can't believe that you wore this to pick strawberries? Your strawberry farms must be different than the ones down south in Virginia. So from now on, I will not be content with cut-offs and a tee shirt. I will have this outfit in my mind and feel compelled to dress accordingly. :) but seriously Sveta, you do look great. Hope the berries were yummy too!

doubleh replied 9 years ago
We are wearing the exact same pants in our "Angie's formula" outfits. I was on the fence about them, but have grown to love them- I think you did well to purchase too- they look great! Well, the whole outfit is great!
(And you might have inspired me to wear shades in my future WIW posts.)

Jaime replied 9 years ago
These were meant to be and you look terrific. As a strongly round (as opposed to elliptical) shaped woman I agree curves in themselves are not the issue - roundness that can make the buttons gape is!
-
MsMary replied 9 years ago
Oh my gosh! This is ridiculously fab!! I love it so much I can't even stand it!! LOVE!!!
-
Sveta replied 9 years ago
Tanya, cat shirt is purrfect for copycat, right?:-)
Suz- and hourglasses with small bust and wide shoulders!:-) Anyway whatever shape I am I have no issues with button down shirts!:-)
Angela, I did not pick strawberries today as it is not open for picking yet, I bought ready picked ones - but I would totally wear the same outfit for picking + hat! This is my version of cutoffs and tee because I don't wear those :-)
doubleh, I wore shades today for the picture because I did not look very well after 13 h work day yesterday and just 6 h sleep last night. :-(

What a great look, and I am so glad you posted a button down shirt look. After I read about button down shirts are better for straight bodies I thought 'hmm, well I'm a pear so maybe I should not be wearing them?" Yes, I am all confused about button down shirts now.

Debbie replied 9 years ago
Love the story of how you acquired the pants. I love your outfit. Perfect for a casual Saturday! Love the belt with these.
-
Sveta replied 9 years ago
Lisa, as a pear you are not curvy on top so button-down shirts should work well for you as long as they are not too snug on the hips.
-
Lisa replied 9 years ago
The hips, hmm that may be the issue, I am always wearing them untucked which makes them pull on the hips. I need to start tucking more!
-

You look purrrfect! Love the mix of brown and grey. Beautifully done.

Kiwibird replied 9 years ago
Absolutely perfect!!! They definitely had your name on them!
-
Gigi replied 9 years ago
Wow, Sveta! This is one of my favorites of yours! I love how the colors go together, and I love the studs on the belt and the clutch.
I love the story too! Isn't that a great feeling when you get exactly what you want and there's only one of it left?
-
Beth Ann replied 9 years ago
Oh yes, one of my favorites! And yes, I know that whole vanity-busting size issue well! I've not changed weight recently, but I gained a size instantly over a year ago when I changed my fit preferences. These are looser than many in my area at least would wear -- perfectly fluid. Perhaps you brain would prefer the idea of sizing up for luxe slouchiness?
Terrific silhouette, practical, and polished.

I feel the way MsMary does. The outfit is just delicious, everything about it. SO fun that your purchase worked out that way. You have always been my style inspiration even though there's practically nothing similar about our body types... but I don't care, your style is just amazing!

Neel replied 9 years ago
Lol! Cute story :D And you look fantastic in those pants. Love this version of Angie's ensemble!
-
Joy replied 9 years ago
Just beginning to pull out my summer stuff and feeling meh about most of it, these pants are very appealing. YLF!

Angie replied 9 years ago
Great story and you look killer fabulous. You have an old movie star grace about you, Sveta. An innate elegance, that's matched with a great sense of humour. Much love and hugs to you. xo
-
Elizabeth P replied 9 years ago
Great story, and great outfit! Those pants were obviously meant to be.
-
Suz replied 9 years ago
What Angie said. You absolutely do have that movie star grace. It comes across in photos amazingly well. I wonder what that is (aside from the great specs, of course)? It's magic. That's Kibbe's soft dramatic in action, baby.
-
Sveta replied 9 years ago
Thank you for your kind words!
Angie and Suz, you make me blush! It must be sunglasses, they add mystery and drama! ;-)
Gigi - it is a great feeling and makes you feel that your purchase is justified!:-)
Beth Ann, I usually OK with sizing up but in this case I hoped my size changed...and it did not.
-
Karie replied 9 years ago
That's great that they gave you the 30% off! That kind of justifies buying them after telling yourself you're not going to shop anymore - kind of ;)
What a fantastic outfit! Stunning from head to toe (I love the brown ankle strap on your shoes, too).
-
texstyle replied 9 years ago
More love for this outfit - it's so classic and classy but still looks really comfortable! I have a darker pair of those linen pants and now I'm wishing they were lighter so I could copy you with a similar button down (or popover actually).
-
Jules replied 9 years ago
Killer. Also, I want those pants. I have a story too.... involving wanting to try them in person because I often have "issues", whether real or imagined, with light-coloured pants and GAP bottoms in particular, but typical GAP inventory meant that store had a huge pile of the gray pants... in size 2 only!!!! How does that happen? Only at the GAP, I swear. I vacillate between which is more annoying, trying to figure out the fit in store or making so many on-line returns.
-
catgirl replied 9 years ago
Sveta, you look fantastic! And I wore THE SAME PANTS yesterday! Same color, even. I paired with a slouchy tee and Allsaints flats.
-
Angie replied 9 years ago
It's not the sunnies. It's your innate grace and manner. xo

kkards replied 9 years ago
love the pants! and i had a similar experiecne when i bought the same color gap pants, but in the broken in khaki. on sale in the store, nothing in my size, i ask if they can order for me, they can, but after looking it up, SA tells me there are no grey left in my size. ok, i bummed, but it happens. for some reason, when i got home, i decided to go on line and look for myself. and no problem ordering my size! i really wish the gap would get there ecom and stores more in line!
