WIW: to get my life back

I took a break from picture taking and posting for the last 2 weeks. I felt so tired and disinterested in anything because my work is not easing up and I am working weekends again. Last week I had a thought that it feels like I have lost an interest in life - and it really scared me!
So I decided to make an effort and start taking pictures again - just to keep myself motivated - so here we go!
pic 1 Dots
I have worked 10h on Sunday so on Monday I craved warmth and comfort. baggy trousers and cashmere sweater just fit the bill for this!

Polka dot sweater -  Only Mine (NAS), baggy trousers from Long Tall Sally, Vaneli booties (still keeping them in brown to see how I like this color - so far so good)

pic 2 Stripes
When it is dry and sunny outside I am reaching for wide leg trousers while I still can!:-)

BR navy & cream sweater, wide leg trousers from Long Tall Sally, Danier moto jacket, Clarks black booties

pic 3 Red, blue and leopard
I think I am starting to recover if I wanted to wear a pencil skirt today :-) Also  bonus pictures of my new Danier man coat - I love it!  it still feels weird to wear a black coat but I think I am getting there ;-)

Red pencil skirt  - Halogen (NAS), BR blue/white shirt, David Tate animal booties

Thank you for helping me to stay alive!!!

Oh I love the dots best! Welcome back to life!

  • Aida replied 10 years ago

Really lovely Sveta! It always amazes me how putting in extra effort to dress when down can elevate my mood. I love the wide leg trousers on you, though I think I want to see pointier footwear with #2 (or even almond toed, like the boots in #1). Your new coat is amazing looking!

  • deb replied 10 years ago

I wondered what happened to you. I hope things start to slow down for you soon. You look beautiful as always.

  • Windchime replied 10 years ago

Oh, Sveta-- your life is so out of balance right now. I have the same thing at certain times of the year but not as often as you, I think. Do you have a day off on the horizon?

Your outfits, as always, are wonderful. Your stressful work schedule hasn't affected your ability to make fantastic wardrobe choices. I love the mancoat witn the purple scarf--fun!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

So sorry you are having a rough time of it at work, Sveta. And at this time of year it can be especially tiring and hard. Not enough light.

But you look fantastic, as always, and what a treat to see the new coat in action. It is beautiful on you! I also love the Only Mine.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

I especially love #1 and #2 as I am experiencing major black and white sugar eye!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Sveta - I hope your workload lightens up soon and you can catch your breath. Take care of yourself.

I'm so glad you got and kept the Danier coat. It is stunning on you! And each of these outfits show true Sveta style - just lovely.

  • MuseumGal replied 10 years ago

Work might be tough, but you look all kinds of awesome.

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

The first outfit is slaying me! Love it and all of these and the coat is just pure awesome. I need to be taller!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

    Thank you, Deb and Peri.
Aida, these black booties are a bit almondish IRL. Unfortunately it is hard for me to find pointy or even almond toes which are comfortable for my wide toe box :-(
Windchime, this craziness at work is in its second year now. We got a new client last year which is big and demanding and they drive us really hard for the whole year. I hope it will ease in January because I am really at the end of my endurance (and believe me, I can endure quite a lot).

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

Ugh, I'm so sorry about work. #1 is fantastic.

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

Love all the outfits!!  I am not sure which one is my favorite!  That black coat is a great find.  Hope work gets better soon

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

I always love your WIW - you are so stylish :)
The coat is so perfect for you I'm really glad you are getting there with it.

  • Aida replied 10 years ago

I hear you on the wide toe box, it does make pointy/almond toed shoes so difficult. Too bad that is my favorite toe shape -_-

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

You are right, Suz: not enough light (because of the season)+not enough sleep (because of work) is a killer! But I knew you would love to see "your" coat!;-)
Shevia, me too - cannot get enough of this black and white combo!
Thank you all for compliments and for compassion!

  • Mo replied 10 years ago

Sorry work is taking over your life.  Balance is a great thing and when we don't have it, it can be very hard.  You look great, as always.

  • carambola replied 10 years ago

That coat is absolutely amazing on you. Sorry to hear that work is so stressful.  You look like a million bucks, though. I'm especially taken with 1 and 3.

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 10 years ago

I think my favorite is the animal print booties with the red skirt.  I have boot envy and love animal print with red.

Hope it eases off at work soon.

  • replied 10 years ago

All the looks are fabulous! Sorry to hear about work, but these pics show your strength!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

I'm sorry about your awful work schedule. 10 hours on a Sunday!
It's a treat to find one of your posts. I love both wide leg pant outfits and you look so glamorous in your black coat.

  • Gracie replied 10 years ago

I really like your hair fringe on 1, and love the elegance of 4 with the great coat and lovely scarf, and, that lipstick color looks lovely on you. Thank you for taking the time to post.

  • ManidipaM replied 10 years ago

You are my hero for looking so good ans so YOU over a gruelling few weeks! I especially love that last boldly colour-blocked outfit. Wish I could send some R&R your way.

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

    You are beautiful Sveta!

  • Alexandra replied 10 years ago

That sounds like a lot of stress wearing you down. I'm glad you're fighting back. Love that red skirt.

  • replied 10 years ago

Blech, sorry work has taken over :(

You look good -- I really like the polka dot outfit, and your new coat is gorgeous.

  • Lantana replied 10 years ago

Commiserations over your workload. Nevertheless, you are looking as stylish, beautiful and elegant as ever.

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

I am just echoing what everyone else has already said. There is definitely power in dressing for yourself -- you do it so beautifully. (#1 is particularly memorable) I just encourage you to remember to put yourself at the very top of your to-do list. If that means taking an extra 5-10 minutes to plan something fabulous to wear (as in #3 &4 -- that red skirt just fires up the whole look, pun intended) then so be it. With out you, and the essence that makes you excited to get out of bed in the morning there is no "your life". Be well. (Be Killer as always ;-))

  • rute replied 10 years ago

    well done! So gorgeous!
Hope the situation at work gets better

  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago

Pls. Sveta, don't let me/you down!:-) I have a rough day today, and came here now for a few minutes to lift my mood a bit, and your dots, red skirt, and new coat already did it! Thanx:-)

  • Aubergine replied 10 years ago

Stressed or not, you look great! I especially like #2 and that dramatic black coat.

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 10 years ago

Sveta, you look beautiful, as always.  A real glamazon :)

  • Liz A. replied 10 years ago

So photogenic!  I'm with whoever said that lipstick is putting in work for you!  My fave is #1 although I think I'd prefer black footwear with that outfit and swap the brown booties in outfit #2.

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

I was in your position over the summer. I lost half the summer because I worked 6 or 7 days a week for half of it.  It was a real challenge to get ANYTHING done outside of work.  Hopefully you won't have this pace for too long.  I think one of the best ways to cheer up when working lots of hours is to sport really bright and fun outfits.  At least when you look at yourself in the bathroom mirror you can smile about your outfit.  It's nice to see the polka dot top come out to play in #1.  As you are in #2, I am also reaching for bootcuts regularly right now until we get wet weather.  And #3 is heading into bright and fun color and pattern mixing, the perfect antidote for busy working schedules.

  • texstyle replied 10 years ago

Your style overshadows the stress and all these outfits look great Sveta. But I will say that you MUST take it easy. Even with vacation time, long and stressful work hours on a regular basis take their toll. Please put your health and well being as the #1 priority. We miss you when you're not posting.

  • Catnip replied 10 years ago

Paying extra attention to how you look is a big mood booster.  Have you noticed how you progressed from not smiling at all in picture #1 to a beautiful smile in picture #5?

I love all your outfits, and especially like your beautiful black coat.  Hopefully the situation at work will improve.

  • JAileen replied 10 years ago

They all look great, but #1 and #2 are especially appealing.

  • Carole replied 10 years ago

Well, if you have been disinterested in life you sure can't tell from your outfits, exceptional as always, every single one! Sometimes a little break from the routine is definitely a needed step to recharge. I hope work lightens up a little more so that you have the energy to show us the great outfits you create. Such a treat and so inspirational,

  • Elizabeth P replied 10 years ago

Welcome back!  I certainly understand how being tired and stressed makes you reach for the FFBO's.  You look great.

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

You look terrific, and I am especially partial to #1 sweater twin!

I hope work gets better soon. It is hard ot have life so out of balance for so long.

  • Marmee replied 10 years ago

You look terrific!  The dots are my favorite, especially with the pop of red in the handbag!

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

I'm glad you're being proactive about reclaiming a bit of yourself during this difficult time at work. That's so important (and so hard to do sometimes). You look great in all of these, but as a polka dot fan, I must say #1 is my favorite.

  • dianne replied 10 years ago

All of these outfits look amazing but the coat is my favourite....so chic!!!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Thank you all for you kind comments and therapy. It was a very gruelling year for me: hopefully it will get back to normal in the next year.
Catnip, pic 1 was taken on Monday night after another 10h day so it is surprising I am still holding together there at all: I felt really bad that night and I think I looked it too :-(
Liz, I don't care for black fotwear with those taupe trousers in #1: at least not those only black booties I have now. If I ever find a more refined pair it may be a different thing.
Lisa, I am sad to hear about your summer - I hope it is beter now.
I am so glad I have you, guys!

  • Jeanie replied 10 years ago

Too much work and not enough play...hope it gets better.  Love the red skirt with those leopard boots!

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

Sveta, I'm so sorry to hear that work has been so overwhelming lately. It hasn't stopped you for having your usual fabulous style, though.
It really is essential to take a little time for yourself, whether it's taking outfit pictures or having a nice warm bubble bath.
I hope things quiet down for you soon so you can regain some balance in your life.
    Hugs,
    Marcy

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Marcy - thank you, it is very important. I was going to spend some time with my mom last Sunday and instead had to work all day and did not see her. I am going to make sure it happens this weekend!

  • replied 10 years ago

Sorry work is stealing your life, at least your wardrobe is in fantastic shape.  You look fab as always.  Red,blue and leopard is just stunning with and without that amazing coat.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Hugs, and you crack me up. You are a fun person Sveta, although I do empathize with your hectic schedule. I hope things slow down so that you can breathe.

You look more than alive. You have killer style no matter what. Your verve and grace is innate.

And I have missed you on YLF. Thanks for the very sweet comment on my post this morning. I'm humbled. xo
