WIW: the rest of the week

I don't know why I posted my WIW in the middle of the week...anyway this is the rest of it. I thought I will include the weekend casual wear too but we have a snow storm this weekend and it looks like I am not getting out of the house at all. Well, at least I am not working this weekend either so here is a silver lining!:-)

pic 1-2 Winter white
I am trying to find ways wearing this white and black colorblock sleeveless dress in winter. Here it is over the cream t-neck. I was going to wear my black opaque tights with it but then decided to try this new patterned hose. I am not sure I like this though: horizontal stripes on my legs are not my best friends. I think I will delegate this hose to wear with tall boots from now on. another bonus of my black coat - could not resist! :-)
I am getting to the conclusion that I am over this style in booties: they just do not sing to me at all. I thought this is because they are black but now I think it is really the style. I think I will hang on to them for now but will be looking for a replacement...:-(
Dress - Calvin Klein via Winners
Cream t-neck - BR
Clarks black booties
Red Chromia bag

My hubby picked this tunic for me in the boutique in Annapolis. It does not happen often as we don't really shop together (I pity him) so I had to get it, right? :-)
I was not also sure about the light python booties with this outfit but I liked them better than brown and purple and red booties were just the wrong shade.
Martin skinny rousers - BR
Sam Eldeman python booties
Danier leather tote

Thank you for looking. As usual any comments and suggestion are very much appreciated. Have a great weekend!

I love the colorblocking on your dress! It looks especially cool with the coat in picture two and looks really good on you. Also your dress in picture three is amazing - the pattern is really interesting.

Sveta - I really love that dress with the t-neck under it!! - and the red bag (swoon!!) but I think the horizontal hose are detracting from the sleekness of the dress with that fabulous black stripe!! I would go solid opaque black and booties with perhaps a slimmer heel and a bit more open at the ankle.

the tunic is gorgeous and really pops with your slim black pants. I'm thinking red wedges perhaps...  but maybe I'm just projecting my personal want list!!

I like the striped hose and color blocked dress. Beautiful. How fun that your husband helped you pick out the tunic. It looks great on you :)

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Wow, look at that amazing tunic! That is stunning. Mr. Sveta has good taste. Well, we already knew that, as he picked you. ;)

I actually like the striped hose. But I hear you on the booties. I have already lost love for my DV booties from last year. I did wear them to death then, so it's not so bad, but I have only worn them twice this season.

Eternity and Amy - thank you.
dustt, that was my feeling too about the hose. And I do need different black booties :-(
Suz, it was Janet who recommended this boutique to me. This tunic also came in black and white but my hubby liked the red better. As for my Clarks I have them for 4th year now and they did not wear out, I just overgrew them I guess...

Both the dress and tunic are gorgeous on you. The striped hose does not bother me but no need to wear it if you don't like it of course.

  • carambola replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous x3!! I think the striped hose look great and complement the black stripe nicely, but if you're not comfortable in them, you would be equally striking in sheer black hose or opaque tights. That coat and tunic are both stunning!

    thanks for the links, dustt. Here is the catch though: finding footwear for me is a real challenge;
    - I wear size 12 and selection in this size is really limited - quite pathetic really;
    - I need a heel under 2" - anything higher is not comfortable for me;
    - my toe box is wide so I often need W width when the toe is pointy or almond...
See? suddenly replacing my old black booties is not that simple:-(

  • dustt replied 10 years ago

argggh!! - I thought my size 11's were tough - and I try to stay under 3" myself - so I totally get it - I know you'll find a pair that sings to you!  My mum wore a 12AAAA - and I remember her struggles to find footwear.

The dress is gorgeous, and I like it with the hose. Mr. Sveta has good taste - the tunic is beautiful!

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

I think both the outfits are stunning! The patterned hose plays very well with the stripe on the dress. And the red lips and bag are the perfect touch of glamour! The red tunic is beautiful. Mr. Sveta has great taste :)

  • Gracie replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous outfits, the Martins fit you so well, I love the long straight leg line they create under the tunic.

  • karymk replied 10 years ago

Sveta I love you in red, white and black! It's so clean and goes so well with your coloring. I agree with you in pic 3 about the light boots.  I think a black pair would have been less distracting from that amazing, dramatic top. K

You chic chic lady! OMG I am fainting over here. I love them ALL!  (Marking as a favorite.)

  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago

Wow, red tunic outfit  is gorgeous, including booties. Killer Mr. Sveta"s taste!

Winter white dress also fab, but I hear you on that specific lace tights. I think attracts a bit too much attention, or so?  It's not the horizontal stripes but their unevenly width and placement and some other lacey  pattern included(?). I simple, thinner and completely evenly placed rhorzizontal striped one will work better IMHO.

  • Joyce B replied 10 years ago

    I love all the outfits.

  • kkards replied 10 years ago

That white dress is just fab. And that tunic is wonderful, red is a great color on you.

  • Runcarla replied 10 years ago

Model-esque! You are gorgeous in these outfits. The winter white is super fab, but I agree about the horizontal stripped tights. You've got great pins, so no problem with the pattern, but it detracts from the sleekness of the outfit.

Both outfits are definitively worth repeating.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Mr. Sveta has excellent taste. Tell him I think the tunic he picked out for you is absolutely sensational on his beautiful wife - who further styled it to perfection. xo

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Wow!  The balck and white dress is just divine and I love the t neck under it.  I particularly like the way the t neck is soft and 'slouchy', it just adds a special something.  I think I understand you on the booties.  IMHO the outfit calls for something a little more refined, maybe a patent and pointy toe??

Your DH has excellent taste and that dress is beautiful.  The footwear is unexpected but I think that is part of the appeal.  Totally Fab.

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous new red tunic.  That's a fun piece!  I also like the strong black and white look in #1.

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

    Sveta,
I hope you're getting some much-needed rest this weekend!
Your winter white dress is stunning on you! Those tights do not look bad, but I do think I'd prefer solid black. Good luck with the bootie search.

Kudos to your husband for his good taste and for knowing what to pick for his beautiful wife's striking style. That tunic looks wonderful on you.

You look great! I love the dress over turtleneck, it's looks so seamless.
Your husband chose a great tunic.

    YLF & have a clever husband :)

  • DonnaF replied 10 years ago

I love the refined elegance of the black & cream on you.  I like the idea of textured hosiery, but not necessarily the ones you wore.  I understand what you are saying about those booties; a more refined pair would be nicer, but, well, maybe they will pop up!  I also love Mr. Sveta's tunic on you.  Both outfits are hits IMHO.
