WIW: sweltering outdoors, freezing office...

Last weekend weather was pretty cool but then it changed to the muggy, hot and humid practically overnight.  However I still need a topper every single day - it is freezing in the office and I get so cold during the day that wearing a blazer outside in 28C feels nice for the first 15 min because I finally can get warm!

pic 1 Navy and orange
You can see how cool was Saturday morning if I wore my cotton sweater and moto jacket! Worn to strawberry farm / nursery and farmer's market:

  • Gap tweed moto;
  • Paige "BF" jeans;
  • Gap marled sweater;
  • Hush Puppies two-tone oxfords.
  • Tignanello crossbody bag.

pic 2  Faded denim, silk and window pane
Wore to work in the freezing office. I am really glad I got this denim biker last year because I really enjoy wearing it. Please excuse my closed eyes, have no idea what happened there :-)

  • Gap denim baker jacket;
  • Long TallSally mini-window pane tuxedo pants;
  • J.Renee pumps;
  • Le Chateau silk sweatshirt
  • Danier silver tote.

pic 3 Citron and sequins
Another work outfit where I risked to wear cropped pants to the Arctic.
They look olive in the pictures but really they are micro-houndtooth in black and white. I am afraid they are not "the fashionable" cropped length so I consider them to be my long shorts.

  • Gap academy blazer;
  • Lord&Taylor sequin tee;
  • Cropped pants from Winners;
  • Trotters mini-wedges
  • Danier silver tote

pic 4 Sleeveless dress with topper
Pretty much per Angie's post this week I am wearing a sleeveless dress and a denim jacket because there is no way I can wear that dress on its own in that cold office! Like Shannon's this outfit contains all old items but it does not make it any worse, right? Sorry for the indoor shot but it was pouring when I got home!

  •  floral sheath - Long Tall Sally;
  • white denim jacket - Old Navy;
  • Ros Hommerson pointy toe slingbacks;
  • red chromia satchel

pic 5/6 White and swirling stripes
The first 3 outfits were from the mix of old and new items, outfit #4 was all old but this one is from items less than 1 year old - pretty rare case for me and it was not intentional. There are 2 debuts here - Zara jacket and swirly top from Winners. I decided to keep the Zara jacket and tags came off today. I am still trying to figure out what is the best way to use it in outfits but decided that slim bottoms - long top like in Angie's outfit should definitely work.
This black and blue was a find at Winners but it was hanging in my closet until now for some reason. Do you think it works with this jacket? I am including all angle shots of both jacket and top to give you better idea how they fit.

  • Zara jacket;
  • Top from Winners;
  • Danier dove satchel;
  • Banana Republic cream jeans;
  • JCrew oxfords.

As usual nay suggestions and comments are appreciated.
Thank you for looking!

    Wow Sveta, these are all gorgeous!  Can not pick a favorite, but the color combo in #2 really speaks to mw.  Awesome week.  And I hear you on the temperatures, I am suffering from the same thing.

    #1-This is my favorite of the week, I like the yellow and pink colors here with that blue moto.

    #2-I was just looking at this outfit and thinking is this the length cropped trousers should be?  I like this length a lot.

    #4-I never tire of this dress, it's such a happy print.

    #5-I don't mind the new top with this jacket, but I'd like to see a bold color top so that the jacket details stand out more in an outfit remix.  With this bold print, it's less contrast and the jacket details blend a bit with the top.  That's a fun top, I bet it pairs well with the yellow shoes from #1.

    Spectacular as usual! And look at you -- yet another new item hiding in the closet....I do not know what we are going to do with you, Madam. Your shopping bug has taken completely over!

    #1 is just gorgeous -- simple, sleek, and a little tomboy. You make GAP clothes look like a million dollars. Ditto for the jacket in #2. And the one in #3.

    I still love that floral dress, although I am sorry you cannot wear it without the topper. However, since that jacket looks great with it, you are set.

    I really love the new top from Winners (cool enough for the heat! long enough for your desire!) and I do like it with the new jacket, although I think the easiest way to wear would be with lower contrast throughout -- as in Angie's outfit.

    I had to come see for the tips re. hot outdoors, arctic indoors. Was not disappointed! Love the cropped pants and the sleeveless geometric top. You know, I don't think I have any uncuffed cropped pants... hmmm!

    All fabulous outfits. This is refined casual dressing at its best. I love the blue top with the new Zara jacket. They both have such interesting sharp lines, but the rounded hem and neck of the top soften the overall look just a bit.

    Love all of these! Sveta you are a star. I have been dealing with the same at work and I hate it! I love getting into my car at the end of the day when it is an oven, because I don't get warm until I am almost home.

  • Day Vies replied 9 years ago

    WOW just wow. #1 is my favorite I also love #2. Clearly I need to get a moto jacket so that I can copy.
    I definitely understand the need to build a fire indoors when it's sweltering outside and trying to dress for both extremes. I think all of these outfits finesse that chasm beautifully.

    I find them all PERFECT, Sveta! You have a beautiful wardrobe, your  items match and corelate so well! Trully like to see your weeks of outfits, such a great inspiration! Thanx for posting! (and, I like the length of the cropped pants in 3)

    These are great!  I hadn't seen your denim moto before and love the color and shape.  The new blue/white top looks perfect for summer - loose and drapey with an interesting pattern.

    You look fantastic in every single outfit Sveta. And like you, toppers are essential in my A/C office. In fact when my husband picks me up at the end of the work day, I always turn off the A/C in the car and just absorb the heat for a while.

    I recently purged my yellow Academy blazer - I just didn't feel any love for it any longer. But it looks fantastic on you.

    And your new Winners top is stunning.

    Whoo hoo for older items coming out to play :) This outfit is still current and oh so flattering.

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

    Well, done, Sveta!  Your toppers are all adding interest, structure and texture to you outfits.  Love the fit and wash of the jeans in #1, the sheer pretty frehsness of #4, and the fab combo of the graphic top and white jacket in #5.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

    Beautifully stylish all round - as always, Darling Sveta. (((HUGS))).

    I LOVE that sleeveless swirly blouse on you. Good grief.  And YES. The jacket works from all angles. You look stunning. xo

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

    Thank you ladies.
    Ceit and Shannon, what is with those A/C settings, right? We do not want to suffocate from extreme heat of course but can they set them to 25C or so? I find that 21C in AC is much-much colder than 21C outdoors...
    Lisa and Suz, this was an experiment in #5. I knew that low contrast is a slam dunk (as proved by Angie) but somehow this top was calling for this jacket IYKWIM...
    Suz, ahem, it is the only one, I promise! And I did "one in - one out" for it! :-)
    Rachy, these cropped pants are more like long shorts, not ankle pants for sure.
    DV, you need to reward yourself with amoto jacket after the baby is born and you are back to your normal shape!
    Angie, I was agonizing how to wear this white Zara blazer and risked it with this swirly top. I think I don't like it much over welted tops, somehow the welt competes with the jacket line. What about button down shirts - do you plan to wear yours over them of will it be all colarless tops for you?

  • Alana in Canada replied 9 years ago

    Your outfits are fabulous--and so instructive to one just starting out--such as me. I love #1 and #2 --and that dress is so pretty. I think your "long shorts" in #3 are lovely, too. Thanks for posting.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

    Sveta, I wear that jacket over welted tops. See exact outfit combination below:

    I wear the welted top much boxier than on the model, and faux tuck. Perhaps the jacket is longer on me though.

  • Cindy Fontan replied 9 years ago

    All of the looks you've put together are fab!

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

    Angie, maybe I should try it  and take pictures for you? I think it was teh back and side view I was not sure about for welted tops.
    Love the booties - are they new?

  • Annie replied 9 years ago

    Outfit #1 is fabulous. Such clean and strong silhouette. The individual pieces are great together and on their own. Love the oxfords!

  • Eliza replied 9 years ago

    Sveta- your are an inspiration.  Love number one.  How you put elegance in casual is a lesson to be learned.

     I am also stunned by the solo beauty of the Winners black and white top. Love it on you. There are times when graphic contrast must be embraced.

    Think you will put that jacket through its paces with no problem at all. Great choice.

  • MsMaven replied 9 years ago

    I love you in the dress.  You look great in every photo--very smooth and cool for indoors or out.

    I hate the cold air conditioning and the dress problems it creates as well.  Just think of all the energy the North American continent would save by just turning up the A/C two or three degrees!

  • annagybe replied 9 years ago

    #5 is great, truly great.

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

    Thank you!
    Eliza, the Winners top is navy and white, not black :-)
    MsMaven, indeed - I think i should suggest to lower the temperature at work and  savings with the company!
    Anna, every time you compliment my outfits I am thrilled beyond belief that this is coming from somebody as trend and fashion attuned as you are. The best compliment ever!

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

    Every outfit is stellar on you.  Highlights: I love the pants in 2 with the soft blue jacket.  The citron, white and grey of 3 are so fab.  Love 5 and 6 and wonder if you have tried that stunning Zara jacket with the floral sheath.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

    Please take pics, Sveta. (And yes - new booties. Lucky me).
