WIW: seeing dots...

I gave up on taking outfit pictures until my sons go back to school next weekend: too many remarks and my picture taking spot is usually occupied. Hopefully I will be back to regular posting in the new year.
Here are 2 outfits I did managed to take pictures of and have not posted them yet.
#1 I wore it for my small informal birthday party with friends in our house. Maybe too somber for the occasion but I thought it was fun.

#2 Trying to get some variety for my tall boots and wear them with skirts. I found that I don't like midi skirts with flat boots at all but at the knee pencils are fine.

Thanks for looking and Happy New year!!!!

I love how you use white. You look wonderful.

I love polka dots! You look beautiful in both. #1 is stunning.

#1 is not somber, it is lovely! Reminds me of Minnie Mouse (only in a fab sort of way!)

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Wow. Sveta, #1 just makes me sigh with joy. That is STUNNING
I also really like #2. The double dots are super fun.

#1 is festive to me! And I love how you incorporate dots in #2 :)

#1 is one of your best ever!  You are the Dot Princess.  I love the way you wear them.

  • Runcarla replied 10 years ago

Wonderful, inspirational looks. #2 is providing an idea on how I can style MY tall boots! Thanks!

I really love both, but number one especially! Such an elegant way to do polka dots...not somber in the least! And since I'm tall like you, I really like to wear flat boots with pencil skirts too.  Totally works to my eye!

    Stunning no 1 :)

So pretty! Happy New Year to you, too.

Love both of these, especially 1!

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

They are both fantastic - different moods but equally sensational.

Help! I'm seeing spots - it's because I keep clicking on your outfit photos, I LOVE THOSE OUTFITS (I'm shouting with joy)! I adore that skirt, but even more than that, you look sensational wearing it. Both outfits are ultra-sensational-fabulous, and are my new favorites.

  • Emily replied 10 years ago

Both are great looks but #1 is sublime!  So chic.  The polka dot skirt is so playful that I doubt you could make a somber outfit with it :)

  • Sara L. replied 10 years ago

The colors in #1 might be somber but the polka dot print is super fun.  Also really like the polka dot tights with the dotted sweater.  Both are great outfits!

  • Peri replied 10 years ago

Oh wow, #1 might be my favorite outfit of yours EVER!!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Thank you all for the lovely comments. I am glad #1 was not completely inappropriate for a birthday party (because I did receive "somber" comment from one of my frientds...)
    parkmommychic, Minnie Mouse - lol!
I was not wearing this dotted skirt much lately because somehow it felt not  serious enough for work: I guess maybe wearing it with this shirt makes it more serious? ;-)

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

I'm with Suz! You are the picture of cool elegance!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Somber?  Not at all.  #1 has a bit of "Betty Draper" flair.  I see ladylike hostess with a modern twist.

And way to go making knee length pencils look so fresh and vibrant.

  • MsMary replied 10 years ago

Oh my gosh!  Those are both beyond fab!  I agree that the first one is Mad Men-tastic!!  LOVE!!!

  • pil replied 10 years ago

My goodness, Sveta, #1 is anything but somber! It is gorgeous!

  • Greyscale replied 10 years ago

The birthday outfit is amazing! I don't think it's somber at all. It's fun, polished, super flattering... love those shoes, too.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Sensational Spots on Sensational Sveta. You are stylish both inside and out. xo

  • Debra replied 10 years ago

You look great Sveta, I love all of those spots :)

  • Jjsloane replied 10 years ago

Nothing somber about that polkadot party skirt! You wear polkadots in such a great way!

  • karymk replied 10 years ago

You look like a princess in #1! what a look.  Love it with your J.Renee shoes especially.  Number two I love for its cheekiness--fun people dress like this!

  • Aquamarine replied 10 years ago

So pretty! Not somber at all! Boots look great with the pencil...I prefer a bit of leg to show between a skirt and the top of tall boots.

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

I simply love these dots - That skirt is absolutely gorgeous!

  • April replied 10 years ago

Oh, boys -- what can you do...

    Sveta, you look just radiant.

  • Summer replied 10 years ago

Lovely and FUN in dots! I love them and you look just perfect in both outfits.

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

Fun outfits, I like dots and stripes best as my go to prints to add to my own wardrobe.

  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago

Both are gorgeous!! I somehow distanced myself from (polka)dots as felt them lacking of enough edge on me for a while, but these are spectacular! It may be the bigger size of the dots?? Now, off to think deeper about!

  • sarah replied 10 years ago

Sveta, these dotty outfits are amazign on you. #1 is killing me! Happy New Year.

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

You look terrific in both!! I am especially smitten with #2, but then, I wore my dot sweater like yours with a red pencil skirt before the deep freeze set in  :) Great minds must think alike!

  • In My Joi replied 10 years ago

I too am a lover of all things polka dot, and that black & white polka dot skirt steals the show!!! Gorgeous!!!
