WIW: Puffer Be Gone!

The spring is here! We still have the mountains of snow laying around but they slowly melt down  - such  happy sign! The birds are singing, the sun is shining, the sky is blue and I ditched the puffer and winter boots - hopefully for good. As I said - the spring is here!
Now when I am not limited to black winter boots only I have been trying Angie's ensembles all week:

pic 1 Lemon, and Cognac
This is a variation with white substituting for the light blue. Also wearing (kind of) bandana here as per Inge's post.
Lisap, see - I also wore trench today! :-) It is more caramel than tan in color (and leather) but I think it fits the overall soft color palette.

pic 2 Ink Out
This is as maximal as I go with layering: a shirt, a turtleneck and a vest. I did a version of this outfit with the skirt before - this is more "inked" version. I know that a button down shirt layered under a turtleneck is not everybody's cup of tea but I like the unexpectedness of the collar peeping from under the roll neck.
I am SO ready for spring that I pulled out the flared jeans - even though the ground is quite messy in some places with the melting snow. Who cares! :-)
Added chestnut booties and cobalt  coat to break down all this ink...

pic 3
Grey, White and Citron
Technically this is the same sweater as in pic 1. I am not sure if it is more lemon-y or citron-y but because it is the only yellow sweater I have it has to work for both ensembles :-) I don't think I will layer this sweater over the shirt again: it is too thin AND too light-colored  - not the right combination as any fold on the shirt is visible through the sweater/. Too bad because I like this yellow color paired with white very much.

pic 4
Navy with Peach and Brown
I still love this peach tipped blouse from Ann Taylor I got almost a year ago and happily repeat almost the same outfit I wore last spring - why not!

Thank you for looking and have a wonderful weekend!

    1. First, your leather trench is gorgeous! If I were you i wouldn't want to take it off. Love the colors here.
    2. I find your layering here quite fresh and exciting. Navy is a great color on you.
    3. I think this is my favorite outfit of this grouping because of the wonderful colors and fit. I'm sorry that the shirt isn't working out under the pullover and can see a little of what you described looking at the photo, but I hope that you wear it anyway. So fab.
    4. This is my second favorite, again loving this color combination on you. The leopard belt is fun and those boots look like a beautiful soft leather.

    No puffer be gone here...
Took this screen shot earlier because we fly out in the morning. Thank goodness!!

Another fab week for you Sveta. Hard to pick a fav. I see what you mean about the sweater showing the white in #3, but I'm not sure that bothers me. I love the proportions in this outfit.

Ok I was reading your post wanting to comment how cool you looked in the bandana and cullotes ... I got a bit distracted and started looking at Inge's post and thinking where my bandanas were. Oh boy! I am sooo copying this :D

#2 is simply sophisticated! Love it.

Love the color combo in #3 and you layer like a pro :-)

Love the casual cool vibe #4 gives. You have them all nailed :-)

Isn't it wonderful to see the sun and blue skies at last, and hear the birds singing :)

What I noticed most about your fab outfits (after my initial "wow") was that your fit and proportions are absolutely perfect. I can't pick a favourite - they're all great.

#1 The soft colour palette is gorgeous on you. Great bag, and I love the bandana-style scarf.

#2 I love a shirt collar under a turtleneck - and look at the perfect hem length of your flares! So refreshing to see this silhouette. Love this colour palette too.

#3 Shirt folds showing under a sweater is a problem I have too - but I was blaming the stiffness of my shirts, whereas it can also be about the thinness of the sweater. Thank you for this aha moment :) GORGEOUS colour palette and accessories for Spring.

#4 Elegantly casual - you look great.

Wow, a leather trench! How fab is that? Love the colour scheme too. The proportions of the layers is genius in #2 and I love the cobalt trench-type coat. #3 is so spring-like and I like the fluid fits. #4 is so streamlined and polished.

    You are looking fabulous Sveta!

  • replied 9 years ago

All three are super! You are looking really well, Sveta.

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

Oh, is that leather(the trench)! Love your  takes on springy looks, all 4 are amazingly fresh and well put together! Esp love the peachy blouse in  the last  one! Great week! I had to dig out my peacoat and long boots again as our spring headed back for a few days, again:-(.

  • kkards replied 9 years ago

oh, the leather trench is TDF. and my gosh, you layer so well…..love them all, but #2, the ink out, is my fav.

  • Summer replied 9 years ago

May I borrow your puffer, Sveta?  Our spring has turned back to winter today.

These are all beautiful outfits, and I can't pick a favourite from them - lovely outfits for spring weather.

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

So how come you live further north than me and you get to take off your puffer now? Not fair! It's an ice/snow forecast for us this weekend and this is the 7th or 8th weekend in a row of nasty weather. I don't even have time to pop my puffer into the wash and wait for it to dry, I'm wearing it so much :(

But back to the more important stuff - your outfits! Gorgeous all around. My favorite is #2. I adore ink and a good button down shirt! I do like that outfit best without the vest, though. I think it's because the blue in the shirt matches perfectly with the blue of your sweater, and you can see more of the button down without the vest on.

The citron top is so fresh and springy; I really want to add something in that color to my closet this season. I know what you mean about the button down shirt underneath, though. It's always annoying to me when that happens.

That leather trench is absolutely divine!

Amazing outfits!  I especially like the ink-out and the lemon-cognac combo.  That leather trench is stunning.  Hope the weather stays good.

Happy Spring!  I love all three outfits - and , you look so gorgeous in yellow - lucky you :)

  • replied 9 years ago

Great looks, every one! All so different, yet each is strongly your style. I love the idea of crop pants with high boots for Spring--perfect for slushy pavements yet not all bundled up looking. You look fantastic in citron/yellow.

  • AM replied 9 years ago

Wow. These are great. My two favs:
I'm loving the ink out and the white highlights in the shirt are very inspiring. I'm going to relook at some of my ink outs... Thanks!

The gray and lemon is striking. This look has a great balance of classic and modern. Very appealing.

  • Runcarla replied 9 years ago

Fantastic week, Sveta. Love the ink out. You inspire me!

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

WOOHOOO. GOOD BYE PUFFER. DO NOT COMEBACK.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Killer week - as usual. Do you get sick of me saying that, Sensational Sveta?

I particularly LOVE the outfits in #2. You ROCK bootcuts. WOW. You are very elegant - and aren't you glad you kept both black and grey handbags. They work brilliantly with your outfits.

I also love the citron with the white and grey. the pullover looks great in the pic - but I get what you mean if you feel it's too thin to layer over a shirt.

Your hair is looking extra fab too. Much love to you.

  • jenanded replied 9 years ago

These are just fantastic outfits! Love them all..,

Thank you Joy - your comments are always a joy to read! :-)
Elizabeth, this is too bad - I hope you are flying away where it is warm now.
Neel - LOL. I find I get distracted like this all the time!
Ruth, I also thought before that the stiffer shirt is the problem but this tunic is soft and not stiff at all. I think it is a combination of the light color and thin fabric - the same sweater in ink blue layers much better over the shirt.
Diane, Ceit, kkards, Tanya, AM, Carla, jenanded - thank you!
lyn67 and Summer - I hope your spring will come back soon! I am refusing to go back to the puffer if it is above -7C at daytime!
Karie, it is a common mistake  thinking that all Canada is that far north :-)! My London is pretty much on the same latitude as Buffalo NY and not that much more North that Albany NY. I think it is West vs East which makes a difference now  for the weather.
Lisa, maybe it is just a matter of finding the right yellow for you? I also always thought I cannot wear yellow but found some shades which are just right. Actually I bought this yellow Tippi sweater form JCrew online, without seeing the color IRL AND on final sale. It was a gamble with the color but a lucky one for me.
Aliona, my 2 pairs of culottes were very useful this winter  - gave me variety from skinnies and were safe from snow on the pavement. Brilliant idea for winter weather!
Angie - as usual you are too sweet and kind! This is what my Mom says - that she likes the bootcuts and flares on me the best - but she is not fashion forward...:-) Your comment on the hair is interesting because I just was looking at the pictures thinking how dismal my hair looks in them and how due I am for a haircut (still another week to wait for it) :-)
