WIW: modern midi to brave the cold!

It does feel a bit weird to post WIW every day instead of once a week...but I am sticking to it for this week and you would need to bear with my onslaught of posts for a little longer :-)

Ever since Angie posted this ensemble in February I wanted to give it a go. Unfortunately my 2 midi flared skirts are pretty light in fabrication and not suited for winter at all - so I had to wait. At last today I decided that I am not going to wait anymore, that the spring is here (even though it has this personality disorder and thinks it is  winter) and here I come, ready or not!
Even though it was still cold ( -7C in the morning )  I decided that I have enough and braved the elements featuring a skirt and nude hose...although I have added a cashmere sweater to keep me warm. I also could not wear pumps so I hope my booties are refined enough for this formula.

Only Mine polka dot sweater
Spanners midi flared skirt
Munro booties
Danier silver tote

Now I think that a warmer winter weight midi flared skirt (or two)  must go on my shopping list so I don't have to deprive myself from wearing this ensemble when it is bitterly cold outside!

Fabulous. Good job braving the cold. xo

Oh, WOW! Now I just LOVE this one on you Sveta. So glad you braved the cold in it. It is simple so lovely and fashion forward! From the polka dots to the red booties. A real charm. And it drapes so perfectly on you, too.

Only hope you didn't freeze too much. Isn't this weather depressing (style wise)? For me too, today was the day I finally said "enough" and wore my white jeans for the first time.

You are one brave woman!! (Who looks amazing.) Love this on you.

Meanwhile, I am disappointed that I have missed this feast of daily posts! You picked the one week that I have been travelling for business! Not much computer time for me until the weekend, but I will play some catch-up then!

Dramatic and fabulous, Sveta! I love the sheer bits on that skirt.

Love the dotty top with the stripes of the midi - hope it wasn't too cold for you :)

Well done, bootie twin!  I'm with you on the flared skirt for winter -- I'd love a nice, soft wool midi for next year -- very 70's.

I'll happily bear an onslaught of your WIW's anytime, Sveta. What a beautiful skirt (do I remember your wearing it to a holiday party?) and the pattern mixing with your sweater is delightful.

Beautiful! I love the pop of color from the boots, and I adore that polka dot sweater. I'm happy to see you post every day!

    Elegant and interesting!

Oh!  Just perfect!  The red boots are so fun and unexpected!

  • Ingunn replied 10 years ago

Lovely pattern mixing, and the red booties are so fab, too.

Lovely! Yes, you need a winter weight flared midi.

    :-) @Angie
Krish, I have not seen you for a while! <waving> I want to see that white jeans WIW!:-)
Suz, I wondered where are you and why "my" taupe suit did not have its debut yet... Don't worry, business travel is not the best time for YLF, I know :-( You will catch up later for sure!
Aida, this skirt is much cooler in person with the combined textures: that black lace hem, velvet ribbon to trim it and shimmery silver stripes on the charcoal fabric. That skirt was one of the few consignment finds which I would not part with!
High five, Beth Ann and Joy - let's find that elusive warm flared midi for the next fall!
Windchime, you have good memory :-) I do war it to parties because it is quite festive with the subtle sparkle and lace at the hem.
MaryK, Ingunn - I knew you would appreciate the red booties :-)
lyn*, shevia and Karie - thank you!

Such a lovely outfit and I'm thrilled to see you in a cream sweater with black spots as I've coincidentally just ordered one very similar. Can't wait to try mine with a flared skirt!

  • Aida replied 10 years ago

That sounds enchanting! You can get all the textures you need just from the skirt :D
