WIW: heading into winter...

I wish I could take outdoor pictures now. Alas: by the time I come home from work it is already dark and it is still dark when I am leaving - gotta love Canadian winter! :-(

pic 1  I really like tonal outfits lately. Here I paired my cream culottes with a blush tipped JCrew cashmere sweater and pinkish-taupe animal print booties to wear to the office.

pic 2 I had to leave very early that day for work so I grabbed FFBO: long gilet, white shirt and straight leg trousers with booties. I am including  a closer shot of shadow plaid pattern on the trousers together with the booties.

pic 3
Another early starting work day and another FFBO outfit without much planning: leather jacket, turtleneck and cream skinnies (which fit like BF jeans now).

pic 4 Ballroom dance practice that night. I prefer to dance in a twirling skirt - it is much more fun that way. This dress is perfect for dancing as well as these Fidji shoes.

pic 5
Saturday run to a farmer market. It was quite a grey and miserable November day but this flannel shirt, trench and booties kept me warm and dry.

Sorry my post is so brief today - I feel like a start of the cold and trying to get this post out before I completely collapse. Please wish me that this cold is gone by the morning!

Thank you for looking and have a nice week.

You look so fab in reds and burgundy! And cream! Those culottes are amazing on you.

We're having the same sort of gloomy and cold weekend weather here too .  I love the outfits in  pics 3 and 5 !

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

Love the culottes so much!  Where is my pair for shorties? :)  You are always an inspiration, Sveta.

  • Tania replied 9 years ago

You look great in all of them.  I particularly liked the vest photo.

  • ma replied 9 years ago

All are amazing outfits! The last, however, I want to copy!

  • Missey replied 9 years ago

You knocked every look out of the park!  You have really come into your own in regard to your style.  All looks are well crafted but look effortless and chic.  Fantastic!

  • L'Abeille replied 9 years ago

All inspiring, Sveta! Do your legs stay warm enough in the culottes? I got more wear from mine in the summer than I have this fall. Maybe they'll feel right with knee-high boots, but I'm not ready to go there yet...

You have inspired me to copy #2 your long gilet look tomorrow! Usually I am feeling the look with gentle flares or bootcuts when I wear a long topper, but your silhouette looks so perfect, I will try slouchy skinnies and booties on the bottom (if weather cooperates).

Your ballroom attire is so casually elegant!

Another wow week! I love the long gilet, the plaid flannel shirt with jeans, and of course the culottes. The proportions are fantastic with the turtleneck outfit and you made a lovely dancer twirling in you dress. Hope you got some sleep and your cold is history!

What a gorgeous set of outfits. I am completely in love with #2 (of course) but each one is terrific. I love that you tell us the purpose of each outfit, too.

Please, please, please may your cold be gone. I do not want you to have what I have had. Can I tell you that you were right and I should have listened to you? Well, you were. I should have listened. Because I was SO exhausted by my little trip, despite taking care not to do too much, and am still not well. Luckily I am home in bed again now.

It's always a pleasure and an inspiration to see your outfits, Sveta. I love your tonal outfit, and you look amazing in your burgundy shirt! What brand are your cream jeans?

Good luck knocking out your cold. I use elderberry(sambucus) syrup and massive doses of Vitamin C.

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

Sorry you are not feeling too well. Change of climates always brings in loads of sniffles. Anyways ... These are another fantastic set of outfits. I am inspired by your culottes outfit with booties and I might copy :)

The plaid shirt outfit reminds me of Angie's outfit and I am wearing something very similar (OK a lot similar ... Sans the trench!) today.

The long gilet amps up every outfit doesn't it? Fantastic buy! And how fun are you in the ballroom outfit! I have to tell DH to come dancing with me (nahh ... He won't) lol! Fantabulous week!

  • Debbie replied 9 years ago

You look beautiful as always. I love the culottes look.

  • Sharon replied 9 years ago

I love how you take menswear looks and make them look feminine! I especially adore #2. I don't think I have seen you in a dress before - I really like it. The colour is lovely and it looks like you have changed your hair and make-up to match. The overall look is very pretty.

Hope you are feeling better tomorrow and your immune system kicks in whilst you sleep

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

These are fab outfits, but 2 and 5 are really outstanding. Love the burgundy plaid and coat with striped scarf!

  • tulle replied 9 years ago

All the outfits are great, but I'm surprised how much I like #1!  Culottes of that length can be very difficult, I think, but you look perfectly graceful and elegant in them.

  • Style Fan replied 9 years ago

Love all your outfits but especially the plaid shirt and jeans.  You are an inspiration!  Hope you are feeling better.

  • Jjsloane replied 9 years ago

The last outfit is my personal favorite. You are such a great model and I always love seeing the combinations you come up with. I hope that cold passed you by. It's dark here too!

  • Lisa replied 9 years ago

#1-A lovely tonal look, I especially like that trim on the sweater.
#2-Every outfit with that gilet has been a hit.  And this one is another hit, fun print on the trousers too.
#3-What a great outfit idea, I may have to try this mix of black, brown and ivory myself, thanks for the idea!
#4-A fun twirly dress for dancing.
#5-My favorite of the week, because everything seems very on trend and oh so well executed here.  Rolled relaxed jeans, check, short booties, check, flannel check.  Great look!

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

You rock those culottes!!! Fab! Oh my goodness I gasped when I saw the plaid shirt look! Love it!! And your dancing outfit is twirly and perfect. YOu are so svelte :)

  • Elizabeth P replied 9 years ago

I don't think I can pick a fav here Sveta, they are all wonderful.  Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit under the weather, I hope it doesn't turn into anything.

  • Carole replied 9 years ago

Another fantastic round of outfits, Sveta! Just love them all, but favs are 1, 2, 3. It's so great to see you in your vest...your giving ideas and the courage to wear mine. It's still sitting in the closet with the tags on:(

    Hope you feel better soon!

  • Lyn D. replied 9 years ago

All fabtastic- you make that plaid shirt look really special :)

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Thank you all for your comments!
Una, just get a pair of culottes and chop them off like Aida did! :-)
L'Abeille, I wear knee high nude socks or hose with culottes - or tall boots with long socks inside. So far they were warm enough.
Carole, just get out that gilet, rip off the tags and wear it - I want to enjoy it through you if I did not get one myself :-)
I stayed and worked from home today (beause ,Suz, I do what I preach :-) )
It did not get worse at least so I hope I will feel OK tomorrow. Thank you all for your well wishes!
Sorry my replies are so pitiful today - by the end of the day I feel that this cold is getting the better from me after all and need to get to bed at last (was not able to do it all day but wanted so much!)

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

I hab a hed cod, too, Sbeta!  Couldn't go to yoga tonight --- downward dog would be seriously painful at the  moment!  Wishing  you a quick recovery!

Your outfits are stunning, of course.  My favorites are the second look, with the gillet, and the Farmer's Market look.  I love shiny burgundy, after all!  You FFBO are working for you!

  • deb replied 9 years ago

Sveta, beautiful, beautiful outfits. You look stunning!

  • Laurie replied 9 years ago

Lovely all.  Especially 1 (the sweater). And 3 (classy!) and 5 - just got my first checked shirt, bookmarking your look here!
