WIW: for a big birthday surprise for my Mom!

YLF is a unique community where we get support for hard moments in our lives but it is also a place where we share the happy moments as well. I would like to share such a moment with you today.
I have sponsored my parents to come to Canada 10 years ago. My mom's only  sister is living in Russia. Over these 10 years they met 4 times and the last one was 2 years ago.
My mom had her 70th birthday last Thursday and her sister decided to come for a surprise visit from Russia. I was in on the secret and convinced my mom to move the dinner party from Thursday to Saturday because "I am busy at work". In reality it was because my aunt was arriving on Saturday and we wanted to have a surprise.
I was able to keep the secret for months and my mom had no idea. This morning we drove to Toronto to pick up my aunt from the airport and then showed up in the restaurant. My mom had a shock - she could not believe her eyes! (pic 5) Then she found out that as my birthday gift for her I am sending her and my aunt for a week to a resort in Cuba! They both were very happy and excited (pic 6) - and I was happy and excited too! (if my aunt does not look very happy in the picture this is because she was up for 20+ hours and was very tired)
Now to the WIW part :-) :
Pics 1-3 were what I wore to the trip to the airport. BF jeans are ideal for this 6 hour trip. I am including pictures from the back and the side as well because I was not sure lately that these jeans still look good. Somehow they feel too big and baggy when I look in the mirror but looking at the pictures I think they look ok.

Aqua scarf - a recent b-day present from my friend. I was neglecting my scarves lately but somehow it felt right here.

    Sveta-- how incredibly exciting! You are a lovely daughter, and your mother is a beautiful stylish lady as well as a seamstress. No wonder you have it!

    You look beautiful. I love the BF jeans outfit. The teal is great on you and the scarf is a perfect touch and brings in the chesnut boots and your hair. You wear scarves tied like that so well (because of your height, neck and hair).

    You also look fab in the second outfit. I love that top on you.

    Both outfits are fantastic, but the outfit you wore to dinner is spectacular. The striped top, slacks, and shoes all look gorgeous together.

    What a priceless gift you gave to your beautiful mother and her sister! The joy of the moment shows in everyone's faces.
    The teal is a great color on you, and you wear the scarf very well. I also love the striped crossover blouse on you. I've tried a few of these and have yet to find one that fits as well as yours does.

    Thank you for sharing this beautiful story and the pictures to go with it.  You are such a wonderful daughter not only to arrange this surprise party but also to give your Mom and Aunt a week of vacation in warm weather.

    I hope bf jeans stick around for a while, they are so liberating.  Your event outfit tonight looks like a model's photo shoot.

    Sveta, what a wonderful story and what a generous gift. Not only to your mother and your aunt, but also to us here at YLF. Thank you for sharing this happy moment. 

    I really like both outfits. The celebration outfit is, as Denise said, runway worthy gorgeous. And the BFs look comfortable and not overly baggy to my eye. Gracefully oversized. I also like the way you tied your scarf there. Like you, I am not feeling the love for my scarves but I am also not ready to toss them. I need them for warmth when necklines are lower, and if I find ways of arranging them that feel simple and neat I often like the touch of pattern they provide. 

    By the way, your mother looks beautiful, and it is clear where you got your love of style!!

    Sveta you are so sweet for arranging this reunion.  I can't believe you drove 6 hours to the airport.

    I love your BFs.  Mine fit the same, with the slouchy butt.  That 's the price you pay for comfort, as well as fashion.  I have nooooo problem with that. (But my husband does...)

    Guess I am emotional today because this made me teary eyed seeing your mom and Aunt together. Your mom looks AMAZING, by the way. So do you. I love both of these outfits with a big <3. The scarf in one is the perfect touch with the boots somehow. I think the BFs look great on you. It is just hard as a member of team riveting-rearside to make peace with the baggy butt syndrome, but your figure still looks great. It just depends whether you can embrace the bagginess. Love the second outfit too. So graphic, sleek, striking, the perfect amount of drama for you. I love your mom's top. Tasteful yet alluring.

    You come from a very stylish family, Sveta, my word!! Both your Mum and her sister look marvelous, and I love both your outfits too. The jeans are a great fit, not overly baggy to my eye, and that teal jumper and scarf are beautiful on you. I am still so happy that you got the Pleione blouse in the red stripe, so flattering on you. The entire outfit is elegant and perfect for a celebratory dinner.

    What you did for your Mum and her sis is absolutely heartwarming, Sveta, it made me smile and a little teary-eyed at the same time (and just look at that last picture, beautiful!). Wishing the two sisters an absolutely brilliant time in Cuba!!

    Sveta - what a wonderful story and what a wonderful thing you did for your mom and your aunt!!  There are not enough happy occasions in the universe so we must enjoy and share each one!  I think it is so generous of you to send you mom and aunt on a vacation.  We did that for my parents and uncle years ago and it was marvelous.  I know they will cherish this time together and you will be constantly in their hearts.  What an amazing gift.  PS both of your outfits are so fab.  Elegant, warm, comfortable and chic at the airport and so stylish and gorgeous for the party!!  Man do you rock that pleione top.  Love the stiped bag with the top.  Just am amazing combo!!  Enjoy your precious time with your family!!

    That's such a sweet story and you're so thoughtful for arranging all of it!

    Love both outfits, especially the cognac/teal combination in the first and the way the clutch picks up the stripes of the top in the second.

    What a terrific story to read on a Sunday morning.  You are a wonderful daughter!  Your mother and your aunt are both very lucky to have you in the family.  What a generous birthday gift!

    Both outfits look great.  The jeans are not too big and are very flattering.  The restaurant outfit is a knockout!  You look very beautiful. and the source is obvious.

    You know they say that if you share your joy with others it will double ( or triple). This is what I feel right now!
    Thank you so much for sharing my joy: I was so happy for my mom and favorite aunt last night I just had to share with you! :-)
    My mom is my best friend ever and I am very close to her. I will alway jump on any chance to make her happy if it is in my power.
    My aunt is like another mother to me. When I was born she was not married yet and did not have her own children. She was also living together with my family and naturally she became my second mom. I remember when I was maybe 4 years old I was confessing to my mom that although I love her very much I love Tamara (my aunt) more! Sometimes children can say weird things, right? :-)
    It is I who is extremely lucky to have such wonderful and amazing women in my life and I am so happy I can do something for them to give some of the love back which I was showered with all my childhood and afterwards!
    Thank you for liking my outfits as well, they were secondary to the main topic of course but still important, right? :-)
