WIW: enjoying the mild fall weather while I can!

#1 Blue and orange
This outfit was inspired by Angie's post on trends for the spring 2015 and in particular on blue and orange being The Colors. Here is my orange silk shirt from Costco paired with Madewell straight leg jeans and Gap navy moto.

#2 Culottes are  out again!
This time I have styled my new cream culottes very differently from their first outfit last week. Instead of heeled almond toe booties and tucked in shirt I went with a boxy turtleneck and tall cognac wedge boots. What do you think of this one? JFE to pass YLF filter? I am usually off necklaces right now but for some reason I wanted to wear my amber tie-like necklace here to lighten the ink sweater and tie in with the boot color. Here is also a picture of this outfit without the necklace - which do you like better?

#3-4 Gilet magic
I LOVE this gilet! Every time I put it on I feel a burst of self-confidence and I think I even walk differently in it - strutting most likely! ;-) Last time I wore it with BF jeans and t-neck in a more casual outfit - this time with a white BB shirt and Paige denim flares. I wore the shirt untucked like in pic 3but for a picture tried with the shirt tucked in (#4). Do you have any preference for a shirt worn tucked or untucked here?

#5 Red tunic for "Wear Red" day

Today was "Wear Red" day in memory of Canadian soldiers recently killed in Ottawa and Quebec. Such a tragic and senseless loss!
This outfit was along the lines of Angie's today ensemble but with a statement tunic instead of a statement sweater. I had a hard time wearing these grey skinny Martin pants with Ugg Chelsea booties. I wore the pants untucked and full length but because they are on the short side they kept getting caught on the top of the booties when I was sitting. I tried to roll them above the booties but it felt too "busy" somehow - and I definitely don't feel them tucked in (all examples are in the picture). What do you think? How would you wear them?
Thank you for looking and usual all comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.
Have a lovely weekend!

You can do no wrong. Several of these outfits have a slight 70s feel to them. Such relaxed elegance. And do I get to say "I told you so" about the gilet?? Because I did....

#2 is so fun -- very different from the first iteration. Reminds me of gaucho pants.

I like the top in or out in #3. Either way is fab.

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

#1 is absolutely gorgeous! Love the colors and the proportions.

#2 - Plonkworthy! You wear those culottes really well! I adore the *without necklace* version. Just clean and simple :)

#3 - This vest is the best piece of your recent shopping! I have slight preference for the untucked version. Lengthens the torso with that vertical line of the shirt IMO.

#4 - I like the unrolled untucked version the best with the tunic. Sory it isnt long enough to feel comfortable that way though :( But with a shorter top / tucked top you could do the roll and still be proportionate outfit wise. Fun tunic!

    Another fantastic week!

You really must tire of looking like an off duty model Sveta, seriously! I'm bookmarking this so I can come back and gush at length about these outfits tomorrow!

#1 is outstanding.  Outstanding is my version of killer.  :)

#2 I have a slight preference for this version of the first version of the culottes outfit.  Perhaps it is the 70s vibe that resonates with me but whatever it is, to my eye it really works.  I also have a slight preference for it with the necklace.  I am really feeling accessories these days and I like to break up the black.  I know your style can lean more towards simple and elegant though so you may prefer it without.  Both are extremely stylish

#3 I have a slight preference for the tucked version.  You have legs that go on forever so why not play them up a bit.  I find the vertical stripe on the shirt is also elongating so it doesn't seem disproportional to me.

#4 I have the same issue with pants that are ankle length with boots and just let them catch on the back of the booties.  It gives a bit of scrunch from the back and they still seem to lay nicely in the front.  I prefer the full length for proportions.

Your style has shifted ever so slightly and is even more glamorous and polished than it was before.  You look fabulous in everything.

Sigh...you can do no fashion-wrong, Sveta. I love each outfit. The long vest is so dramatic on you...I remember I thought it was too long when you were considering it, but I absolutely love the way it looks with the shirt untucked.

I have the same problem with booties and pants catching...no help here.

Such stylish outfits - fantastic (again) Sveta!  I can see the attention to detail in your choices, fit and colors here and all are really beautiful on you.

In 2 I think the necklace really ties the whole outfit together. Great instincts!

  • Lucy replied 9 years ago

Amazing! You look gorgeous in each one - one breath-taking look to another!

I love no 1, the colours are fab. What a great wear anywhere, anytime outfit.

No 2 - wow. You rock culottes.

No 3. I've never been a fan of the long line vest, I've never really seen the point. And you have SO changed my mind. Fabulous.

No 4. It might not be your favourite, but really, you look great. I think you can get away with whichever one is most comfortable!

    Fainting!

    You've never looked better.

Week after week I am blown away by your WIW posts! You have such a fantastic way of putting together outfits that suit you perfectly, are so flattering and on trend: JUST SO FAB!

You are killing me!  Love love love #1.  Heck, I love them all.  You really do have a great sense of style Sveta.

Shirt... I think looks good either tucked or untucked.  I vote necklace on.  And I think I prefer the jeans unrolled, the roll just looks a bit thick or heavy.

And I hadn't heard of red day :(.

I keep losing my posts with wonky Internet connection. We are signed up for Google Fiber. I can't wait to get connected.
To keep it shorter, you look fabulous in every outfit. Your attention to detail is inspiring.
1: You glow in the Orange and it is enhanced by being paired with navy. Love.
2: the culottes look great with your boots. I like the look slightly better with the necklace to bring the eye up to your face...more like tearing them away from the amazing culottes.
3/4: Can any piece be more perfect on you than that gilet? It is magic.
5: I like the length of 1 and 3 best. So far I've been doing something more like #3 for the mild weather.

Your orange silk shirt is gorgeous on you! (supressing twinge of envy; it's a wonderful color but doesn't work on me.)

I had a slight preference for your BB shirt untucked--it so elegantly elongates the outfit, but then read Dianthus' comment and also agreed with her point about the tucked shirt emphasizing your long legs. So I'm going to have to sit this one out on the bench.

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

#1 is gorgeous - I love the color of your shirt and those booties make me swoon every time I see them.

#2 is very different from the way you wore it last, but I like it equally as much. I prefer it with the necklace as it adds interest and lightens up the top a bit.

That gillet is stunning! I like the shirt worn both ways. Untucked has a more relaxed, casual vibe, and tucked shows off that beautiful belt and looks a bit more structured.

The recent events in Canada have been very tragic. It is nice that you honored your fallen soldiers. Although I do prefer your pants unrolled and untucked, I also have troubles with pants that hit at that spot - they always get caught in my booties and I hate that. I usually just wear them with flats.

  • marianna replied 9 years ago

Yes, the weather has been perfect here too… we must take advantage while we can!

All of your outfits are fab (as usual). I must note how amazing those Madewell jeans look on you… wow! Perfect fit.

WW! Killer x 5, Sveta. You have what it takes to make everything look amazing. If things don't work out in your present job, you could always be a model:)

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Simply Killer Stunning all round. xo

  • Tanya replied 9 years ago

Stunning set of outfit Sveta!  I have a huge crush on #3/4, that long gilet was made for you!

  • replied 9 years ago

'Swoon!' Wonderful outfits all of them!

  • Peri replied 9 years ago

Sveta, I think you are just stunning! I love all of these...you are amazing.

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

These are all stunning.  The vest is so elegant and dramatic on you - on me it would be laughable.  And the culottes are making me want a pair to wear with my tall boots!

  • krishnidoux replied 9 years ago

OMG all your looks are so inspiring! I want to go play in my own closet. Aren't we lucky to finally have a real Fall, after a few years of immediate cold and dreary weather?
Red tunic is a dream. But white culottes' ensembles steal my heart.

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Oh, thank you so much for you comments, you know how to make a girl feel good, don't you? :-)
Suz, I acknowledge - you told me so and together with Angie pushed me over a brink of he decision :-)
Neel - I concur: this gilet was one of my best purchases!
Dianthus, I will try your trick of scrunching the pants on the back.
Lucy and Aquamarine, I am so glad I changed your mind about the long gilet! :-)
Elizabeth, we were asked at work to wear red that day - otherwise I would not know as well.
Joy, here is hoping you get your good Internet connection soon!
Karie, for some reason I do not care much for short pant with flats: I prefer the look with the booties in this case. For flats I would want either scrunch or roll.
Marianna, you should give Madewell jeans a try.
Carole, I think it is a bit too late for that :-)
Una, get the culottes. You can get the ones Mary got - burgundy from Club Monaco which are shorter - or shorten others as Aida does. You would rock them!

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

The vest/gilet and culottes are just the most amazing pieces on you Sveta! You look more stunning every time.
