WIW: enjoying snow-free December so far (knock on wood!)

I am really scarce on the forum lately. The work is picking up ( no YLF time at work) and then dancing also takes a lot of time. Hopefully I can catch up during the holidays!
All outfits were worn to work except #2 which was worn to  dance practice.

I got this down vest from Lands End to layer under wool coats to extent their wear-ability in Canadian winter. However I really liked how it looks so I wore it to work on Friday. Accidentally my orchid BR t-neck is matching the vest color!

pic 2
Changed after work for a dance practice (turtleneck is too hot for dancing). I have not been wearing these plaid jeans much for the last months as I don't like how they look with black winter footwear so here I was taking advantage of mild(er) weather (for Canada).

Still trying to find ways to wear this JCrew sweater. This time layered it over a striped shirt with flared jeans.

pic 4
Nothing like a bit of lemon yellow color to cheer a winter day!  I like culottes equally with tall boots and with booties and yellow with grey is one of my favorite color combinations.

pic 5
De-bombshelling the pencil skirt with a navy boxy Club Monaco t-neck and boots. Maybe a bit dark outfit  - I think I need to wear white tomorrow!

This was my week - thanks for looking and have a happy Friday!

You're a long tall drink of water! Legs for days. Wow. I love #3. I have some berry color boogies that rarely get worn. Thanks for the inspiration!

These are all fantastic Sveta! The color of the turtleneck is wonderful on you and looks great with the cream trousers. I love the culottes with the bright yellow top also.

Another great week. #1 is my favorite - the orchid and white is so crisp and gorgeous, and it looks fantastic with the Munro booties. Are the booties also orchid? They play nicely with the orchid top anyway.

Faultless and fabulous Sveta....you've styled yourself perfectly. Love each of these looks on you. Well done!

Your co-workers are so lucky Sveta to see your fabulous style each day :) And girlfriend, you ROCK white jeans like nobody else! Another fabulous week in Sveta's style world :)

I canot see past the first one, and cannot believe color match on top  was an accident:-)! So cheery with the dots, and the bright whites for winter! Another fave is nr 2(dark red booties are giving this quite a rich vibe to all the outfit)and  nr. 5 because  I like to see my fave siloutte and color combo for winter modelled by  others. Nr 3 and 4 are also very stylish &Love that grey bag!

We are in the same boat - no real snow here yet, and I'm having fun dressing as I wish.  Love the culottes with yellow and am going to copy with citron/loden!  And the rest of your outfits are great too.  Would you have worn them in snow?

  • Thistle replied 9 years ago

We've already gotten snow, but it melted before the cold came roaring back. But, I would rather the snow hold off a bit. It makes driving such a pain!

You look amazing. Legs that go on for miles and miles!

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

You don't have snow? We have a ton of it! We had a little storm a few weeks ago; that melted pretty fast. But then we got a big dump two days ago. The ground is all slushy today because it is warmer. No bootcuts or even BFs here, alas...

Just LOOK at how stylish and elegant you make a puffer vest look! I absolutely love #1 on you. Fabulous. Do you find the layering under coats works? I had not thought about doing that! It would work with my red coat but probably not with my new grey Danier because that one is more tailored.

I hear you on the black footwear with the plaid pants. I am in agreement and am mourning because I have not been able to find the right taupe or grey booties. I do wear black booties with these Kuts anyway, and also my ink booties. But I'm not crazy about it.

We are sweater twins now with the J. Crew but I have yet to wear mine. It is a bit of a funny sweater but interesting enough for me to give it a bash. I like this combination on you very much.

As for #5 -- it is good to switch it up -- not too dark at all. As long as you go lighter another day!

    Enjoy your dance tomorrow!!

Love all your looks, Sveta. I am LOVING the first photo. You look so gorgeous in that berry colour with the sweater & vest together. And the culottes with the lemon yellow are cheery and bright. Everything else is fab too but those are my favs. Sounds like you are getting lots of dancing time. How fun :)

Thank you for your kind comments.
Karie, the booties in #1 are cognac - I have added them to finds. Our indoor lighting is very bad for pictures ;-(
lyn, it was an accident....or maybe not because this is the color I really like and get drawn too all the time :-)
Una, snow adds limitations on one's choices. I would definitely not wear #3 because wide hems and snow just do not work together (hate soggy hems!)
The rest of outfits would require different footwear - or I would need to change it at work. I have a very limited number of boots and booties which work well in snow and cold and they all black so that would definitely affect my dressing. So I enjoy snowless winter while I can!
Thistle, we also had snow already in November but it is all gone now and now new yet. Dusting of snow does not matter but I am talking feet of snow on the ground - don't have this yet! :-)
Suz, strangely out snow belt of Ontario is staying snowless amidst this winter blast around it. Usually we get snow when nobody else does but not this time. I think it is because it is coming not from the Northwest as usual (from lake Huron and Georgian Bay - our usual snow generators) but from the South - for a change we are not in the snow path! :-)
This down vest is pretty thin - this is what I was after - so it layers well, especially under my Danier man coat. I can layer it under my other wool coats but because of the belts it is a bit bulky. If they were tailored but not belted I thing it may have worked. And look at the color - fuchsia! or maybe radiant orchid? In any case I think it is an awesome color! ;-)
As for the plaid jeans: I am OK to put them away until the spring when snow comes: they will come out as a fresh spring start in April!

I hope your weather stays mild for as long as possible. #3 and #4 are standouts for me - my faves - and Killer. Very fun to see bootcuts and culottes. xo
