WIW: catching up

I am still here and trying to check YLF from time to time when I surface for a gulp of fresh air :-) Here is a quick WIW post before I have to dive again :-(
pic #1
These jeans are full length with the scrunch so they are too long for these low ankle strap sandals but I ma not ready to hack at them: it is so hard to find full length jeans for me and full length is more useful for me in a cold season. So this is the "cropped" version with hems rolled under. I think I will pass on this Gap yellow blazer in the end of the season. It starting to look tired and fabric does not hold that well.  I need to find a new one in this color as it makes me happy.

pic #2
Trying to wear skirts with flat footwear - this time white loafers. Hopefully it was JFE. Not sure about the top tucked into this skirt though. I blousoned it out so the elastic waistband of the skirt does not show but still...I wish I had high-low top like Suz's CM tank: it looked awesome!

pic #3
Another thing which most likely is in its last season - this floral dress from LTS It is a bit too big on me now and I don't fancy how it fits. Was not really excited about this one.

pic #4
I am not very original in how I wear this BR vest and tunic - combine them together every time I think. Hopefully it does not look boring because it feels good :-)

pic #5
This was inspired by one of Angie's ensembles - white, black and light blue. Again - flat shoes with the skirt. I decided on the animal print loafers here just for fun! I really enjoy pairing this lace top with faded denim.

That was my week. Thanks for looking and as usual all comments and suggestions are appreciated!

    You are looking fabulous.
    1. That yellow jacket is a happy piece. I hope that you can find a replacement.
    2. The white loafers look great here.
    3. The formal dress is special but it is looking a little big now. Could your mother take it in?
    4. My favorite. A great outfit never gets old.
    5. Fun.

You rock the white and yellow and the white loafers, too.  #4 is a total WOW, and I gotta run and copy your #5 (with trous, though) right this minute...

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

Great looks.  My favourite is #4 - no wonder you repeat it - it's fab :)

Really great to see stylish you post!  I'm loving 5, 4 and 1.  Don't get rid of the yellow jacket in 1 until you find a replacement, it looks really good on you.  I agree with your dress verdict.

  • unfrumped replied 9 years ago

Wow, your stressed week is better than my regular.
The flats with skirts is working. And your repeat best outfit is fab, oxfords are super; I likd the more streamlined Oxford here.
Funny, I love the dress-- great colors and contrast and the sandals look perfect with it. I can understand if the fit is going off, though.

Looking great Sveta! It's soooo good to see your WIWs again!

I love all these ensembles. It's really hard to pick favourites, but I was especially floored by 3! I love 2 a lot, as well. Flats look great with skirts.

  • Style Fan replied 9 years ago

You look stylish in all of the ensembles but #4 steals my heart.  So Fab.

So good to see your week's worth of looks--they are all so varied, I love that about your style. Everything is clearly you, but you mix it up. My fave is also 4, with your height and poise, you really rock this look. I also love you in the Suz-twin skirt--especially with the pop of red in your bag. You do colour beautifully. The dress is fine, but I agree with Joy on sizing.

Hope you find a replacement for your yellow jacket. I can't see it looking tired or worn from the pic, but I do know what you mean. I had to make that painful decision with a couple of pieces this weekend. Not east to say 'goodbye!'

  • Windchime replied 9 years ago

Your style is looking terrific in spite of life stresses!
#4 looks so fab; why not keep repeating something that works so well?!
I notice each of the last four outfits features pastel blue; that color suits you incredibly well.
Thanks for posting during a busy time; I always love looking at your WIW's. :)

  • Ankita replied 9 years ago

You're an extremely stylish woman and I adore you WIWs!
All the looks are stunning, but if I had to pick any two it would be #1 & 2... I LOVE the yellow jacket on you and #2 is a stunner over all ☺

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

You are looking wonderful. I am sorry the stress is still so high!

Are you able still to go dancing during this, or does that get put on hold?

My favourite here is #5 -- fantastic pairing! I also love the grey shoes in #1.

I often wear a blousoned top with the tube skirt, too, sometime with semi tuck --blousoned in front and "out" in the back (to hide the bum a bit.) I think it works well here.

  • Janet replied 9 years ago

I love #4, and #5 is close behind. I hear you on the dress, and I also get what you mean about the jacket. That color really is nice for you though, and it's unusual enough that I suspect it may not be the easiest thing to replace, so I agree with Denise about hanging onto it.

  • Amy replied 9 years ago

You always look so chic! I really like #4 :)

  • Sara L. replied 9 years ago

These all look good.  Too bad the yellow blazer is getting worn.  I love all the outfits you've put together with it.  I hope you can find a suitable replacement.  I think your experiment with skirts and flats is working since these outfits look seamless to me.  I wouldn't have guessed it wasn't a normal look for you.

  • replied 9 years ago

I think the little jacket, open over the skirt and tucked blouse is helping the outfit work with flat shoes.

You're especially good at choosing the right jacket, cardigan, etc.

    And I like your lipsticks!

  • deb replied 9 years ago

    Love, love, love #4!

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

I vote killer all round - accept for #4 which is Killer to the power of Killer.

Thanks for posting despite your hectic life. Hope things are settling down and much love to you.

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Thank you so much for your lovely comments!  As usual they just make my day :-)
Joy, as usual your detailed remarks on each outfit are very touching - thank you.
Cerinda, I would love to see your "copy" :-)
Caro, Style Fan, Ankita, Amy, isabel, Deb - thanks!
Denise and Janet, I would love to hold onto this yellow jacket but the problem is that it begins to show wear beyond my toleration level which makes me feel not fab in it. I will be definitely on the lookout for another one in this color!
unfrumped, Maneera, Sara L. - thanks for endorsing the skirt-flats look.
Aliona - you do understand my pain with this yellow jacket! Hard to say good-bye but also hard to continue the relationship as it is not s fab as it was (hmm, this sounds like some dating story story...:-) )
Windchime, you are right about the light blue. It is funny to think now that 5 years ago I was sure that I don't look good in blues in general and look  outright awful in pastel blues! The secret ws finding the right tones and shades.
Suz - you BET the dancing is still on! It really helps me to cope with the stress and rewind. We are going dancing at least once a week and also practicing at home most nights. We also took 4 salsa dance lessons in August (sadly the last one was yesterday) - was a lot of fun!
As for the striped skirt - I am wearing exactly this today - silk blouse semitucked in front and loose in the back. High five! (but I really love your CM tank with this skirt - stunning!)
Angie - I was thinking of you when planning #4. I saw your collection with this tunic, white jeans and light blue denim jacket and just reversed it to white vest and light blue jeans :-) Thanks for K2K rating, there is nothing like this to make the girl's step lighter :-) Thanks for the kind words, you are a sweetheart and a TON of love if caming back to you so be careful :-)

I hope your stress goes down soon.  In the meantime you manage to look incredible in all of these pics!  I love the pop of yellow in #1.  Overall I love the use of light color shoes.  And number 4 is so modern and structural and amazing on you!!
