WIW: Angie's bootcuts ensemble and others

I wanted to try Angie's bootcut ensemble right last Friday but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate so I had to postpone it for Monday to the office instead (pic #1)
This is my only pair of wide leg trousers other than jeans. Not having black bootcuts like in the post I opted for a soft edge here. Also on Team Wear  - debuting my new JCrew pointelle sweater which arrived late last Friday. It is not really cropped but short enough and fluid enough to work with fluid bottoms I think. It runs big so size down or get your smaller size if you want to try it - I recommend!

This is what I wore to work on Friday. I think I am a bit over this sweater because this outfit does not feel that  fab to me from the picture; it felt good enough during the day though. Also wearing my new dressy Blondo boots here. Does something feel off to you here as well?

pic#3 I blame Suz! She modeled this toile sweatshirt from JCrew and I HAD to get it too! This was really Team Wear: came from work on Friday night to find a parcel from JCrew - and promptly wore it the same evening to a friends' house. Love it and it is cropped enough for me to play with! I hope it was not too busy with the plaid jeans - this is definitely not a minimalist look.

Wore to work and to the quiet evening at home to celebrate my hubby's birthday today. What do you think on wearing this gilet with the dress? Does it look current? Bonus picture of my red cape for Angie :-)

As usual any comments and suggestions are very welcome!
Enjoy the first week of November!!!

I love each and every outfit on you!
Oops, submitted before I was done. The first is so fluid and The colors are so lovely.
The second outfit is fun and different for you. Fab boots
#3 is not too much. The white shirt keeps it under control. So fab!
The last outfit again has wonderful colors on you. Love the gillet with the dress. The red cape is beautiful.

Sveta, you are amazing! I would never, ever in a million years have thought to wear the toile sweatshirt with "our" plaid pants. You are a genius. What a fun look. So glad you like the top; it was a good buy on sale -- as cheap as a sweatshirt from K-Mart, really -- and nice quality for that price, plus a fun statement. It looks great on you. I think it will pair nicely with pencil skirts. I am also going to wear mine with my grey striped Halogen skirt like your brown one.

#1 absolutely defines "soft edge" if anyone needs an illustration. The pointelle sweater is beautiful. Like a baby blanket! :) I hope to get one eventually.

#2 looks very fab to me, but I do understand your feeling about the sweater. I have kept mine...on probation. And have worn it once so far this year. The quality is not as high as the J. Crew knits and you can feel it if not see it.

#4 just knocks it out of the park. Absolutely stunning on you. What a gorgeous dress. Looks fun with the vest -- unique! And together with the cape? Perfection. So elegant.

Sveta, I am in awe of your fabulousness! All four outfits are amazing. Love the soft edge of #1. The new sweater is so pretty on you. Outfit #2 makes me smile - it's fun and playful. Fun, too, your toile and plaid! Your last outfit just bowls me over. Wow!

  • Carole replied 9 years ago

You've done it again, Sveta! Fabulous X 4! Your outfits always seem to have that extra creative touch that make them outstanding. I especially love how you have mixed patterns in 3. And the colors and textures in all 4 are just stunning!

  • jenanded replied 9 years ago

I love them all but the toile top outfit and the red coat are amazing!

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Sveta at the fear of sounding like a broken record (remember them lol) you just look fabulous.  To my eye everything works beautifully.  I am besotted with your blush coat and blush is just so your tone.  You carry yourself with such elegance, it would be hard not too look fab :)

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

Oh I am soooo tempted to order that sweatshirt! Small or medium is my dilemma and it's final sale so I can't guess wrong on the size :( I love how you've paired it with your plaid pants.

I don't think anything looks off in #2, in fact I love that dotty sweater (but I can't imagine not loving any dotty sweater).

#1 is fluid and gorgeous, and #4 is my favorite of the group.

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

Another terrific round of outfits - #4 is my favorite, both with and without your red coat!

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

    Thank you ladies!
Joy, I am glad you like the gilt with the dress.
Suz, thank you for making me to buy the sweatshirt. It is such a fun piece! I think I am going to enjoy wearing it very much. I have tried it with bootcuts, BFs, pencil and flared skirts, culottes  and trousers and it seems to work with everything. I hope you get a pointelle sweater too.It is quite warm and in a thicker knit though so I suggest sizing down. As for the dotty sweater - I am OK with the quality so far but it is the overall look I am not sure about.
Debora, Carole, Jenanded - thank you!
Deborah, it is interesting that you like the blush color on me. When I considered the purchase Angie was not sure about the color but I liked it so much that I kept it anyway. Mind you, it was BEFORE blush became all the rage so I guess I was ahead of the curve :-)
Karie, this toile sweatshirt is size L. It runs quite roomy but it is soft and drapes well. I would say order the bigger of your 2 sizes if you want it to be oversized or smaller if you prefer a less oversized look. Suz got hers in her smaller size.

You have had a print mixing heaven week ^_^

My favorite outfit is #2 .. Which you don't quite like for some reason! But I don't see it and it is beautiful!

Plaid and that toile sweatshirt are amazing together. Who would have thought?!! Fun combination.

The dress is elegant and beautiful. Fantastic set of outfits!

  • marianna replied 9 years ago

I actually really like #2! Nothing looks off about it to me. :) #3 is super creative and works surprisingly well! You have a good eye. And #4… wow! That dress and cape are soooo glamourous.

  • Missey replied 9 years ago

I love the toile sweatshirt with the plaid pants!  By far my favorite!  It's busy but not overwhelming.  The blush coat in 1 makes your skin tone look "peaches and cream"; so lovely!

  • Meredith replied 9 years ago

Color! Print! The toile sweatshirt! You know I am loving these. Honestly, I think all of these looks are great and I would have to nitpick to find anything wrong.

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

    Outstanding, Sveta! Go Team Wear!!

Those plaid pants continue to amaze me on everyone on the forum!!! They are beyond versatile. I wish I could be a lemming. Love the toile on both you and Suz!! Great purchase! I love the pointelle sweater as well. Those soft colours look lovely on you.

I see what you mean about the dot sweater, but I think it works really well. Nothing looks off to me. It's just not as new and fresh as your other stuff since it's older, but I quite like the pattern mix and the look.

Outstanding - all outfits. I just need to take notes. So great.

  • kellygirl replied 9 years ago

Sveta, your style quotient is through the roof. You put together the most interesting and flattering outfits! Love them all but especially love the skirt outfit in 2 and the plaid pants/toile sweater in 3. Super fun and stylish. YLF!

  • Lisa replied 9 years ago

#1-a lovely soft palette with bootcuts.  I really like how the jumper bookends the booties so well.
#2-I'm not a fan of bare legs with tall boots and a skirt, I would have added some colored hose to this look, even if it was a fun diamond print in black or something else subtle but to bring color to the bare skin between boot and skirt hem.
#3-What a fun mixed print look.  It's nice to see those plaid trousers are already workhorses, they are a fun item in your wardrobe right now.
#4-This is my favorite out of this week.  I really like the color blocking of the vest with the dress and the red cape adds some lovely color to an otherwise dark look.

  • Tanya replied 9 years ago

Simply love all of these!  The beautiful color palette of #1, fun patterns of #2,  clever pattern mix of #3 and sophistication of #4 - all work so well.  I think you can do no wrong, Sveta,

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

    1. is pastel heaven,

     2. is ladylike with a twist(still love the sweater on you!)

    3. is pattern mixing high, and FUN

    4. is an interesting classic beauty.

All very well done, YLF no matter whta, Sveta! Love them all!:-)

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Neel, I did not realize it but you are right - 3 out of 4 outfits were print mixings.
Marianna - no surprise you like the sweater in #2 - polka dots and you are long standing firends!
Missey, thank you for loving mu blush coat - this color always makes me happy for some reason (like after having a nice poryion of Italian latte gelato) and it is reassuring to know that it also looks good on me :-)
Meredith, Kelly, Tanya, lyn67 - thank you!
Jackie, those plaid pants are truly amazing. I ordered them being 90% sure they will go back - until I put them on. I guess I was lucky with this wildcard!
Lisa - thank you for your detailed comments, I really appreciate them. it is an interesting point about nude hose with these tall boots. i would need to experiment to see if this is what really puts me of  a bit here...

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

Suz said it all. You are a knockout in every one of these. The cape!

  • ElleH replied 9 years ago

I love number 1, especially with the coat. Nothing off with number 2. I like it. Is it too much pattern mixing & high contrast as well for you? Number 4 I love with the red cape!

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

THAT RED CAPE rocks my world.

I hereby crown you Queen Pattern Mixer. Looking more sensational than ever this year, Sveta. You must be sick of me saying your looks are killer. xo

  • Lynne replied 9 years ago

Beautiful, Sveta!  These are all so elegant and feminine.  The cream sweater with wide leg pants has my neutral-loving heart pounding; to my eye the proportions of this are just fab.  Happy birthday to your hubby, too!

  • Debbie replied 9 years ago

You look great. I love your pattern missing and that red cape is fabulous.
