WIW after a long absence...

I am so sorry I have been very scarce on he forum lately. My work is getting crazier than ever and my energy levels run lower and lower. Last week I could not even bother to take pictures at all coming home around 8PM every night and the getting up for work before 7AM...
...but this week I decided that I cannot let this craziness to weight me down so here I am again, taking pictures and trying to enjoy dressing all over again.

After a long weekend of glorious weather I decided to debut my Cleo shirt. I returned the longer one and kept this one because the color an pattern make me feel better. This is my attempt to de-bombshell a pencil skirt with a blousy top (I tied the ends in the front to make the button down into a high-low top) and slipper flats

Another hot day called for a floral dress and denim jacket - high five Shannon who were a very similar outfit that day as well. I got this faded denim jacket from my mom because the sleeves were too long for her. My only complaint about it that the sleeves cut too wide but it is not visible when they are scrunched.
I was looking for pointy toe flats or low heels and could not find anything comfortable - and then I suddenly remembered that I have these in my closet, pre-YLF purchase which survived all purges so far. I cannot walk for hours in them but I can wear them in the office if I drive to work. I think they will do for me for this season.
Floral dress - Long Tall Sally, shoes - Ros Hommerson (old)

Weather was cooling down so it was time for jeans again. Here is my column of color with a yellow jacket. I realized that I don't have enough white tops for summer. This old Zara shirt is getting too long in the tooth and I think it is its last season. I cannot wear t-shirs as they make me feel un-fab but I have hard time finding other simple white tops to wear on their own and under jackets...

After all this heat we woke up to 3 C this morning. Some people would be devastated that summer went away but me? I was gleefully pulling out my white leather jacket from the closet as I did not have any chance to wear it for the last 2 weeks! I was not sure if this gold and black silk scarf works with navy and cream sweater but I felt like wearing a scraf today...
Express trousers, BR striped sweater, Danier leather jacket, SE suede booties.

Thanks for looking and not allowing me to succumb into a frumpville! I think I will be still very sporadic on the forum for a while due to work and other things but I will try to keep up with my weekly WIW.
Have a nice weekend!

So sorry life as gotten so frazzled and hectic. But at least you look good. The column of white is great. And the floral dress really says spring.
    Hope next week is better

Sveta, what a treat! I am so sorry that work has been so crazy for you...any sense that it will calm down soon?

I love the white and yellow outfit, and the Cleo blouse colours with the skirt is great!

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

Love them all - that dress is amazing.  Your hair is looking particularly good :)

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Great to see you, Sveta, and as always, you grace us with your brilliant and original style.

What a great idea to tie the front of your top to make a hi-lo effect! I was hoping you would pair this with your yellow skirt!

LOVE the "new" shoes in #2 -- they are perfect!

Predicting a fainting fit when Angie sees #3!

And waving at my jacket and sweater twin in #4!

  • hedgiehog replied 10 years ago

Nice to see you again! I love all the outfits, Sveta. I particularly love 1 and 2. The dress print is lovely. And I see you're wearing your new shoes. Very pretty!

  • MNsara replied 10 years ago

Looking great in all, my fave being #3 - you were just made to rock those sassy rolled jeans!

Wise move to keep only the one Cleo shirt you feel sure about.  It looks wonderful on and is a perfect shirt for your yellow, or white bottoms, or those blush pants you got too!

Sorry to hear work has not yet slowed down.  I hope you can catch your breathe soon.  I know what you mean about it wearing you down :-(

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

Glad to see you back, Sveta! Even though work gets frantic sometimes, it's a good thing to take care of ourselves too. I love the Catherine jeans in #3, I am thinking about getting a pair for myself. How does the fit run, is it true to size, big, small?

  • DeclawedJaguar replied 10 years ago

Sveta, how great that you are not letting the craziness at work get you down. I hope it calms down soon. All the outfits looks great, but the dress is my favorite. You are a vision in it! And yes, I thought the hair was looking great too!

  • Adelfa replied 10 years ago

Wow, all the outfits display your typical sophistication but let me say quickly that the floral dress one sends me through the roof!!!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Beating stress with style!  Good to see you, Sveta.  I'm loving the yellow jacket.   Such a stunning burst of color!  All the looks are great, but that one and the last (with the Danier) are my faves.  I can't be sure about the blue/black mix in the pic -- sometimes this works, and sometimes it doesn't, imho.  I'd have to see it closer up.  From the distance, I like the burst of yellow.  I also think the pointy shoes with the dress are a great back-of-the closet find.

    Take care of yourself, Sveta!

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

All great looks- in the midst of chaos your impeccable style carries you forward. Love the colors and combinations. Those IM slipper shoes are powerful. Love them and the white denim on you.

Here's to a few less things on your plate.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Despite the long hours, you look wonderful!  Your WIW posts are always an inspiration to me, and we are skirt and slipper flat twins (#1).  I can't pick a favorite, because each look is is special.  Yay for cool spring days when a favorite jacket can be enjoyed.

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

Sveta I LOVE #3, and I think you may have saved me from selling a similar pair of silver flats on Ebay!
Should have thought I could wear them with white jeans so they aren't so 'in your face'!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Thank you all for your kind comments.

Ceit, unfortunately my crazy work will continue until at least September :-(

Caro, thanks for loving my hair because we have a strained relationship at the moment. I am not sure if I should let it grow longer or keep it this short...
KArie, I sized up one size in Catherines, but I think I could have go with my size and they would be still good. I guess it all depends on how slouchy you want to go. Size up has a lot of ease in the hip and thigh area.
Lyn D., let's see those silver flats in action!

Joy, Eliza, Beth Ann, Adelfa, DJ, kkards, Sara, Suz, hedgiehog - thank you!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

So fun to see you in skirts again, Sveta! And I have MISSED you. (You had me in stitches with your imminent NAS induced diet terminology btw). :)

You have pointy toe shoes!!! Wooohoooo!!! #2 takes the cake and is my fave. Although I do have to put #3 on the same pedestal, you gorgeous stylish creature.

  • Carole replied 10 years ago

These are all fantastic outfits, Sveta! Especially love 2 and 3-so fresh and bright for summer! I love the silver metallic slipper flats and you are making me sad I didn't spring for those...Hope things improve and life gets back to a less hectic pace. In the meantime, having such a fabulous wardrobe to get dressed with everyday has got to help, right?

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

    I really like #3 and #4.

  • Isis replied 10 years ago

Welcome back!  I'm really liking all, but especially #3!  I have just about all the pieces of #4, and will have to do a copycat when the weather cools!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Sorry to hear that work has been so crazy for you Sveta - that sounds positively exhausting. Please take care of yourself, ok?

And your outfits and pics do not show you looking tired at all. In fact - you look amazing!

Love the Cleo shirt with your yellow pencil skirt - cheery and perfectly debomshelled.

High five right back at you with your floral frock and denim jacket. Don't you just love that formula? This looks great.

And #3 takes my breath away - I have got to find the perfect white slouchy tee so I can duplicate this. How are you able to keep the sleeves of the Academy blazer scrunched? Mine won't stay so I ended up having to cuff the sleeves instead. And I'm crazy about those silver slipper flats. Would love something like those myself.

And EVERYTHING about outfit #4 works - beautiful!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Angie, yes, I do have a pair of pointy toe shoes after all - and in a shade of white at that! I only wish they were more comfortable to be at least 4-hour shoes for me but it was a miracle to find any pointy toe working for my wider feet at all!
Carole, it does help. I was so down in spirits a week before I could not be even bothered to think what to wear so it helped that I could just grab something from my closet and it worked.
Anna, thanks. You have such an amazing style so it really tickles my toes when you like some of my outfits.
    Isis - thank you.
Shannon, I wish a I had more white tops for summer, they work so well with white bottoms and bright colors! This white Zara tee is not the best at all, so if you find good white tops in natural fibers let me know! As for the sleeves they are too wide from the elbow down and it makes them hard to stay up. I have to scrunch mine pass the elbows so they stay better. I think I will ask my mom to narrow them down if possible.

    Love the softness of 1-3.

  • MsMary replied 10 years ago

Sveta!  So great to see you posting again!  You look as stylish, chic, elegant, and effortless as always!  I am a HUGE believer in the power of style to help us get through stressful times, and I see you are a great example of that principle in action!

  • Mona replied 10 years ago

So nice to see you, again! #3 is absolutely delicious and fabulous.

  • Nicole D replied 10 years ago

Yay!  Missed you!  You really rock that LTS dress and make me want to try Express trousers.  #2 is my fave, no #4, no...jut can't call it!  Need a bag credit on #4 - love the shape and colour.  Hope life calms down for you soon but don't you find wearing fab items gives you energy in those crazy busy times?  Keep calm and wear great clothes!
The Ros H Annette is a fab pointy toed sling back by the way.  Tremendously comfy!  I have them in black kid and navy patent croc.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

It is great to see you again, Sveta! You look perfectly collected and fab in each and every one of these - sorry the job is not as easy as dressing these days. *big hugs* MAN, do I ever love that yellow on you...

  • goldenpig replied 10 years ago

Wow, these are all so fab it's hard to pick a favorite! I think the dress in #2 is so fab with the pointy shoes, but the blue printed blouse in #1, citron, white and red color combo in #3 and white leather jacket in #4 all take my breath away! Hope things settle down at work and you can get some rest soon Sveta!

  • carolbee replied 10 years ago

Glad you see that long busy days are not affecting your style talent. All these outfits look great, but especially love 2 and 3. So far I haven't been a fan of the slipper look, but the silver slippers and that outfit could help change my mind.

  • krishnidoux replied 10 years ago

Your outfits are stunning, as usual. I am so sorry you feel this tired these days. Rest! Rest! It's the best beauty trick. Not that you don't look beautiful here... but I so understand being too tired even to take pics. I am looking forward to see more of your warm weather style. I very much like pic 1.
