WIW: 3 days before Christmas...

Looking through Angie's post on the most popular ensembles of 2014  I realized that I have never attached my WIW post to my most favorite ensemble of all - Whiter White! I don't know how it happened so here is my attempt to fix this omission!

pic 1 - Winter White
I am afraid the picture is not the best as my usual photo shoot spot was occupied but I hope it gives you an idea. Volume on volume may be not the most flattering combination but sometimes I feel like breaking the rules! :-)
Grey boots and dove bag while not technically white keep the overall look light.

pic 2 - Relaxed Tuxedo
This is my attempt to casualize a slouchy tuxedo blazer with jeans and booties. I hope that red booties added some festive vibe to otherwise neutral outfit.

pic 3 - Playing with Plaid
Trying to get more outfits in which are not "skinny into boots" variety while the weather is still unseasonably mild. I thought that these plaid jeans are put to hibernate until spring but decided to wear them once more - maybe the last time this season! I don't like them tucked into tall boots (especially black boots and this is all I have in winter boots department now - black boots).
I usually like these jeans with tonal neutrals or pastels but I think this indigo tunic works pretty well too - maybe because there is some blue in the jeans pattern?

I fell behind on posting my WIWs (as well as commenting on the blog and forum) as life was pretty busy for the last month. Hopefully I can get back to normal now!
Happy New Year to all YLF!

These are all gorgeous, Sveta! I love the slouchiness of your white-out outfit, with the bag adding a little bit of structure to the look. The blue pullover is great with the plaid jeans, too, again with that great bag coordinating so nicely, too!

I just lost a long reply and will try again. These are all wonderful and inspiring outfits.
1: how fresh to do a winter whiteout with taupe and culottes! So elegant.
    2. My favorite of the bunch. You look so effortlessly cool and still festive with those red booties.
    3. The cobalt works to my eye. I keep considering these Kut jeans, now at my Rack, but have yet to buy them. Have you tried the with your red booties? Do they work with the SE Petties?

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

    Firecracker - thank you!
Joy - yes and yes to your question! These jeans work with red booties - I think because there is red in the pattern as well. They also work with Petties in putty color and even in Python - if you like the pattern mix of course!

You are absolutely stunning, Sveta. I can't pick a favorite. The winter white is just so elegant. I love the relaxed tuxedo - effortless chic. The plaid pants look great with your cobalt sweater. So happy you got to wear them one more time this season. It's always a treat to see your posts.

    Smiling because:

    1. I have the sweater you are wearing in #1 (and also wore it in a winter white outfit yesterday!)
    2. I have the booties you are wearing in #2 (and wore them today...)
    3. I have the sweater and the jeans you are wearing in #3.

Do you think we have similar style sensibility?  ;)

I am not yet hibernating my plaid pants and I think they look good with this blue sweater. Love all your outfits and say the volume on volume works great in #1.

Sveta, you look beautiful!   And I am kicking myself, because I have been meaning to show my mom some of your WIWs when I was home for Christmas.   She has the same coloring and delicate features as you, although her hair is light now. I really want her to see the color palettes you wear, because you just glow in them.

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 9 years ago

I think I need to do a white-out look as well sometime this week. Also, I was admiring those red boots in one of Suz's posts, and now again on you.

  • Sara L. replied 9 years ago

I think the volume on volume works in #1 because both pieces are fluid.  I love the red boots in #2 and the plaid pants look good with the sweater in #3.  The color of the booties looks great with both pieces.  I can see why black probably doesn't look good with those pants so it's too bad they don't work all winter.

Your winter white outfit is stunning. They are all gorgeous - I love those red booties in #2 and the plaid pants in #3.

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

Three terrific outfits - I have a soft spot for the culottes especially!

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

I'm loving it all. Especially #2. It's fun to see a Modern Classic like that worn so well. xo

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

AND OF COURSE, I have a soft spot for the white-out. People are sick of me saying that I bet. Gorgeous on you nonetheless. xo

Ooh, fab! I love the fashion forward slouchy whiteout, the modern classic and the plaid fabness. You stunning lady! Happy New Year!

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Debora, Karie, Diane - thank you.

    Suz
, no surprise here, right? Remember how funny it was that we picked the same items from NAS as well :-) I am going to wear plaid jeans IF I can wear my non-winter (aka non-black) booties with it - which can be very tricky now.
I should have gotten those UGG Chelsea booties in cognac as well as I can wear them in winter due to a thicker sole and sheepskin foot lining! Oh hindsight...:-(

LBD, I almost laughed on your comment of "delicate features" my features are anything but delicate really. However I am honored if I can serve as inspiration to your Mom...

UmmLila, go for a white out. I find it very liberating and uplifting in gloomy winter weater!

Sara, I definitely need to get non-black winter booties - why they are so hard to find?!

Shevia - did you get your version of culottes yet? You would rock them with your spunky style!

Angie, count on me to support you in any white out endevour - you shoed me the light...:-)

  • Ornella replied 9 years ago

I know you linked to Winter White blog post, but it took me a while to be able to focus on anything but those red booties and the supporting outfit. It's almost unfair to post anything else next to them. I have not seen them before, they not just up the style factor of the outfit, but elevate it by at least one order of magnitude.

I also love the lipstick, especially in #2 and #3!

Outfit #1 is of course fantastic - and who said rules must be followed. It's an unexpected combination, but does it work - it so does!

I also love the #3. The top, the boots and how the pants gel them, and that very bag which shifts the entire outfit into lighter spectrum, so perfect for you.

Honestly Sveta - I think 2014 has been your best fashion year EVER! I can't wait to see what you come up with for 2015 :)

  • Lyn D. replied 9 years ago

Happy New Year to you Sveta!
    You are always Fab :)

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Ornella, these red booties are Munro from 2013 NAS. They are gorgeous - I think you need red booties too as red is you signature color!
    Shannon, Lyn - thanks!
