WIW - white and bright

I am going to apologize for too many pictures: after our computer's hard drive died I have lost the Photoshop so I cannot collage pictures until it is installed again :-(
I wore white every single day this week because it feels so spring-like!
pic 1-2 To theater on Saturday. Do you think my cape works with the slouchy trousers here?
White Danier jacket, red Charles Gray London cape, BR striped sweater, SE python booties, Long Tall sally trousers.

pic 3 No rain so I wanted to wear wide leg trousers and decided to use an on trend  pastel shirt.  I had hard time wearing this shirt in a way which feels like me but I quite liked this one.
Lilac shirt - BR, Danier jacket, Express trousers, SE taupe booties.

pic 4 Trying to wear my midi dress more often. this time I was battling the too low neckline by layering a white shirt under the dress.
Donna Morgan dress, white Tahari shirt, David Tate animal booties - and nude hose!

pic 5-6
This one was a homage to Angie's almost white outfit. Now looking at the pictures I am not sure the white t-neck really works here. Also - do you think white and red are too much with the cape?
White monogram trousers, BR t-neck, Danier taupe jacket, SE python booties.

pic 7-9
I stole this inspiration pin from Aida and wanted to wear it as the day was pretty cold for a chunky sweater. I was deciding between my grey wide leg and black straight leg trousers and went with the black ones: I think they are slouchy enough for this look. I think it was my favorite outfit for the week!
Gap chunky sweater, BR Martin straight leg trousers, Clarks black booties.

pic 10-11
I decided to go casual and wear my BF light wash jeans. It felt fine but looking at the pictures I am not sure anymore...maybe I should have left the jeans unrolled?
Danier tan leather trench, BR striped sweater, Kut Catherine BF jeans, Trouve flat oxfords.

Whew, this is a lot of pictures - and you are a trooper if you were not scared away by their number! :-)
Have a great weekend!

The only problem with so many pictures is I lose track of which is my favorite - they are all so fantastic. I loved the button down under the dress, the white under the leather jacket, the white leather jacket is gorgeous and I love the trousers with the Gap sweater. And the striped shirt - see what I mean!
  • Suz replied 10 years ago
These are all fantastic, Sveta! I love to see your new white jacket getting so many outings, and I definitely think the cape works with the slouchy trousers.

I can't believe you could tolerate wearing the slouchy sweater. I wonder if the different colours are even different weights. I would broil in that sweater at this time of year. For me, it is strictly a winter item and only on a really cold day. I love the way the outfit looks on you, though!

    LOVE #4!!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago
Shevia, LOL. Thanks for enduring them anyway!
Suz, I really have to restrain myself to wear the white jacket once a week only so my other clothes have a chance too. As for the sweater - it was a really cold morning, around 0C and I was walking to work so I felt cozy in this sweater and the cape. I also scrunch the sleeves in the office so it is not that hot - and I get cold sitting at the desk all day. However I am afraid it was the last time I wore it before the next winter.

You have the most amazingly well curated closet Sveta. For someone who has a fairly small sized wardrobe, it never ceases to amaze me how many fantastic outfits you can put together. This is a true testament to your killer style and savvy purchases.

Like Suz, I'm in awe of outfit #4 in particular.

Not scared by the number of pics at all, Sveta.
I pore over your posts because I so much admire your style and ingenuity.
All look fab to me; #4 takes my breath away and the lavender and taupe in #3 is one of my favourite colour pairings.

Fabulous outfits - my favourite is #6:)
  • Angie replied 10 years ago
Another set of AMAZING outfits as always :)

#5 and #6 work beautifully! T-neck is fab. I'm going with #4 and #6 as my faves. But they are all an 11 out of 10 Sveta because you have KILLER style!

Wowzers, Sveta!  You are so elegant and beautiful it just takes my breath away!!  I love them all!!!

Not too many pictures at all! I'm so glad to hear you got a break from the weather and could have fun wearing white and wide-legs. You look so elegant and dramatic Sveta. I cannot pick a favorite!

Super week, Sveta! I esp love 3,4 and 6 from the dressier ones, and an absolutely fave is nr 10!
  • Janet replied 10 years ago

All outstanding. Your wardrobe really works so well for you. I love how skillfully you mix and match.

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago
Love they way your working and reworking your wardrobe for a cold spring.  #1 -- and then covered with the red topper -- amazing.  #6 is stunning, too.  I have a very similar dress -- with a bateau neckline from WHBM, that I love. You have layered this one beautifully, and the booties are unexpected and fab.

Shannon, I am afraid it is still growing in size, need to take it under control!
Lantana, thank you so much for your kind words. I also liked light taupe and lavender a lot, especially with the addition of white.
Caro, Mary K, Claire, Janet - thanks!
lyn, it is interesting, #10 was the one I was not really sure about...
Beth Ann, the credit for layering a button down under a dress goes to Angie, she showed me how and I am just following in her footsteps.:-)
Angie, thank you, my style is inspired by you to a very high degree!
  • rae replied 10 years ago
You look SO fab in white - no wonder you wore it every day! I think #6 is my fave.
  • Kiwichik replied 10 years ago

You are definitely the slouchy pants queen. You look fab in all these photos I love the red cape & the gap sweater.

  • replied 10 years ago

You do look great in white. I love seeing how you remix your wardrobe elements.

  • Karie replied 10 years ago
I love it when you post lots of pictures - it means lots of fabulous outfits! My fav is number 4. I also think your bf's look fine rolled to the length you have them. I like the striped top paired with the polka dot scarf - brilliant!

You have amazing style Sveta. I love all the pics and I think maybe 4 and 6 are my faves, though it's very hard to choose between them.
  • Carole replied 10 years ago

WOW, stunning and gorgeous, Sveta! You look like you are a model, no joke! Each outfit is just perfect; I love that red cape coat! Fav's are 2, 3, 4, 6! You have a fabulous shoe collection, too!

  • pil replied 10 years ago

    Sveta, you are a goddess : )

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago
I really love the additions of colour, the red and blush.
  • Sveta replied 10 years ago
Rae, Ceit, Diane, pil, Rachy - thanks!
Kiwichik, thanks for loving my Gap sweater and trousers! As for the slouchy pants  - oh yes, I SO LOVE this trend!
Karie, I am not very pattern savvy so most of the ones I have are classic ones - stripes and polka dots - but they are easier to wear together. I don't really feel a patter mix for non-geometric patterns.
Carole, so sweet of you! My shoe collection is pretty small because I have a heck of a time finding anything good in my size...which may be not  a bad thing, otherwise I would go completely off the carts with shoes!:-)

The thing that always impresses me about your wardrobe is the fit. I know your Mom is an excellent seamstress an this makes all the difference. Your wardrobe is Tailored to a 'T'
You project elegance and fabulous sartorial style always.. Elegant in an Audrey Hepburn kind of way.
  • Joy replied 10 years ago

You can do no wrong. I love everything in every outfit. Your white jacket looks so soft and drapes well. The red cape is fabulous with its architectural style. The leather trench is amazing.

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

How do you look so fab every single day?!? These are all amazing, Sveta. They are all fab, but #6 is my favorite.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago
Thanks Sona, my mom is a treasure for sure! However it is interesting that in these outfits the only items she altered for me were taupe and cream slouchy trousers where she tapered the legs. Everything else was "off the rack"  - but you are right, I never feel fab in anything if it does not fit well. Good fit is a part of my style for sure.
Joy- thank you. I also like this leather trench, especially the color. My only regret is that I don't have many opportunities to wear it in my climate because we often go from 'too cold' to 'too warm' for trench in a span of a few days.
  • Debora replied 10 years ago

You are absolutely stunning in each and every outfit!

  • Sarah S replied 10 years ago

I am in awe of the variety in your outfits. You seem to have a creativity that allows you to use so many different silhouettes and combinations of colours. I'm really impressed. Putting you on my 'watch list' Sveta!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago
    Debora - thanks!
Sarah, I got easily bored with repetitions - in everything, not just dressing - so I need to have variety. On the other hand it pains me if I have too many things in my closet and they go unworn because there are not enough days in the year to wear them all - so I prefer to have a smaller wardrobe where I can wear everything on a regular basis. When one craves variety and has a smaller closet ones creativity is really fueled! :-)
  • Sarah S replied 10 years ago

I see. Thank you for the insight. I think I need to do a serious wardrobe edit if this is the result of disciplined clothes collection. Cheers!

  • Vicki replied 10 years ago

Yippee, Sweater Twin! You look so much more elegant in your GAP sweater and I love that pose. :) In fact, whatever you put on, from casual to business to social, you set a style standard that deserves notice. Of course, I'm loving the Danier white jacket and you know why! Hehe. Thanks for so many styling ideas, Sveta.

  • texstyle replied 10 years ago
Every outfit is so lovely but I'm really happy to see you wearing some red again because I think it looks so great on you in addition to white. Can't really pic favs right now - too much fabness.
  • Sveta replied 10 years ago
Vicki - actually we are double twins now <winking> This sweater is going into storage now, that was its last outing until the next fall.
texstyle, thanks! I really like this red color but I don't have anything else in this shade. It is so hard to find the right color in the right fabrication and  style and fit...
  • Sarah A replied 10 years ago
Your style never fails to amaze. I particularly like 3, 10, 1 and 6. Wonderful week!
