WIW - the rest of my week

Here are 3 more outfits from last week which I wanted to post separately:
pic#1
How do you dress for those days when it is 5C in the morning and 26C during the day - and you walk to work? I find this weather really challenging in this regard.
Gap striped boatneck top
Express Editor trousers
Danier leather jacket
Chromia red satchel
black and golden-yellow silk scarf from Paris street vendor
David Tate animal print booties
pic #2
Another work day - trying to give my charcoal sheath a couple of more outings before I retire it:
Jessica charcoal sheath - thrifted
White/black striped sweater and white/black polka dot scarf - Winners
Hue leggings - The Bay
Hush Puppies yellow / white oxfords

pic #3
I wore this on Sunday to see Cirque du Soleil. It was very hot when we walked there but cooled down in the evening:
Ellen Tracy silk sequin dress - via consignment
ON white denim jacket
Clarks raspberry gladiators
Black and white striped patent clutch - small boutique find

I hoped for either relaxing or productive in household chores day off today but there was another emergency at work and I had to work from home last night and this morning..so no outfits for today! :-(

More great looks from you! I love to see how you put things together.

Your outfits just keep getting better and better! I think your solution for weather is a good one - it always comes back to layers doesn't it?
But I really LOVE the dress and jean jacket - such a timeless look with the spin of the denim.

Sorry your day off got interrupted!

The gray and yellow theme is so gorgeous!
I love the punch that the scarf and those booties add to an already fab oufit in #1

What a lovely scarf in #2 to go wit the gray A-line. I also love the color the booties provide and the pattern mixing!

Beautiful dress. It was thrifted? Amazing and the denim jacket looks lovely with it.

I think you look great in all outfits but my absolute favorite is number 1! I love the pop of color with your bag

  • Kirti replied 11 years ago

These are all great but I love #3! I often go to college when temps are low and leave when it is warm. I just rely on layers, usually a jacket and a scarf. :-)

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

    Vildy, Victoria, Kirti - thanks!
Christieanne - yep, layers are to the rescue! It also helps that my office has A/C so I need layers there as well. Still 20 degrees difference in 8h is pretty crazy.
Meredith, this dress was consigned, not thrifted. Its price was $50 but it was new with tags from a local boutique (price on the tag was $380) and silk.

WOW! I can't stop staring at you in the dress and jacket combo in #3! OUTSTANDING Sveta!

I never would have thought of pairing that bright yellow-orange scarf with the soft striped top and bright red handbag in outfit #1 but it works brilliantly all together.

  • Inge replied 11 years ago

Sveta, you simply look stunning every time you post!
The temperature difference sure is challenging, I agree, layering is the way to go.

You look gorgeous in those dressy trousers and you look gorgeous in that dress. I love it all!

  • Ginny replied 11 years ago

You look great in trousers!! Love the dress in #3,

  • rae replied 11 years ago

I see a theme here in soft neutrals punctuated by fresh brights - love! Very springy and a nice alternative to head-to-toe color. I know what you mean about the difference in temps throughout the day, and I don't even walk to work. I will shiver in my trench walking from the parking structure and then sweat walking out to get lunch!

  • Makrame replied 11 years ago

Gorgeous outfits! The dress in #3 is amazing on you, and I like how your scarf and bag in #1 brighten up the neutrals-based outfit.

Which show did you see? We have Cirque du Soleil coming to town and I am wondering if it is worth seeing.

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

    Shannon, Inge, Ginny - thanks!
Rae, that is an interesting observation! I have not thought about it but now I see it.
Makrame, we saw Dralion. It was good but we liked previous performances better. If you have not been to this cirque before it is really worth seeing!

Hello, Beautiful! You look stunning in every photo and I add my voice with the others in saying how much I love the way you put your outfits together. I adore the great pop of color with your yellow scarf and the gorgeous handbag that matches the color of your pretty lipstick! The layered sheath in #2 is perfect for the weather you describe and reminds me to try this, as I haven't yet. I'm in jaw-dropping awe of #3 and you look fantastic in that dress with the little white jacket and raspberry gladiators, all which add up to why I love looking at your WIWs. Even if it ended with work, this was a stellar week for you!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Nodding along with Shannon. What I admire most about your style, Sveta, is the way you fearlessly attempt colour combinations that would never occur to me, and make them work brilliantly! By doing so, you expand the reach of your closet immeasurably. I'm always so impressed and inspired by this.

  • Lyn D. replied 11 years ago

I agree with everyone! I am learning lots from your outfits Sveta.
Question if you have a chance- How have you tied the yellow scarf ? Is it a reasonably short one or looped around? Thanks again for the inspiration!

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

Sveta, you look lovely and chic, as always! My fave is #3 but you are looking good each day! Love the clean, sharp color palette.

  • celia replied 11 years ago

I really like the way you added yellow to your grey outfits, especially the first one.
Your outfit to cirque du soleilis truly amazing , you look fabulous.

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

    Vicky, Jonesy - thanks!
Suz, I don't overthink which color goes with which - I just try them out and see what I like. I am afraid I don't have a very scientific approach about it :-)
Lyn, I bought this scarf because I like the color combination but it was hard to style: it was very wide and not long enough. I asked my mom to make it narrower and stitch the ends together so I got an infinity scarf from it. Now it is a snap to style :-)
Celia, yellow and grey is one of my very favorite color combinations!

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    SO FAB!

#1 is my best. I'm pinning it. I adore you in those trousers.
