WIW - not so many silhouettes after all...

I like to vary the silhouettes I wear to work through the week as it is more interesting for me. However looking back at this set of WIW pictures it seems that 3 out of 5 were skinnies tucked into tall boots...must be the seasonal thing for me! :-) Hopefully different colors and top styles made them less uniform-like.

pic 1
BCBG long blazer from consignment with striped blouse. I think I may prefer this blazer with a turtleneck more than with a colored shirt. I was not sure about this look - what do you think?

pic 2
Yellow turtleneck, shadow plaid trousers and red booties. I like how the bootie color matches the red in the trousers. I have included the close up picture to show the colors better.

pic 3
I wore this long gilet with t-neck and with a button down shirt before. This time I wore it with a crewneck tunic and ponte pants from NYDJ. I love this vest - so happy that Suz, Angie and Inge basically made me get it!

pic 4
I guess I was craving lighter colors that day :-) I wore the Gap shirt layered under the sweater. I like the extra definition the shirt cuffs and collar add to the look but shirt bunhcing under the sweater bothered me. I will try different shirts with this sweater, maybe this Gap one is to stiff for layering here?

pic 5
Very simple - dress and black flat Chelsea booties. Hopefully it was not too stumpefying :-) Added my tomato red Chromia bag for a punch of color.

This was my week at a glance. Thanks for looking and as usual all suggestions and comments are very much appreciated.
Enjoy your Sunday!

That was your gorgeous week at a glance! You look wonderful in all of these, but as usual, I'm very taken by the combination I might not have thought of myself -- the lilac with the white jeans and brown boots. Such an interesting mix of different sporty vibes.

You were made to wear the gorgeous dress in 5 and it is absolutely not stumpifying on statuesque you. Beautiful!!

  • thimblelina replied 9 years ago

Yes, that dress is divine on you!

  • frannieb replied 9 years ago

It doesn't look the same to me because you played around with color and pattern. . As always great outfits.

  • Aubergine replied 9 years ago

Definitely plenty of variety, and great-looking outfits all around! My favorites are the vest and the dress (which doesn't look remotely stumpifying with the booties).

Wow You are just gorgeous Sveta !

My favorite in the vest outfit. I love the long line on you with your vest. I think this is such a great item as it is so straight and vertical and matches up with your body and super long legs. It is something that requires height and straight quality that is rare to see. It does not try to turn you classic but emphasizes your dramatic.

My second favorite is the dress. The dress silhouette is very good - fit is good. Again... the long line is here in the length of the dress. Nothing about it looks cut horizontal. This suits you.  I like the bright purse with it and my eye looks for a light contrast item here as well.

What a great week, my favorite ones are 3, 4 and 5. No. 3 is Sublime.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

I see a LOT of variety in what you wear daily, Sveta. Probably more than anyone else on this forum. You manage to create incredible variety with few silhouettes and a small-ish wardrobe. It's a skill that you have mastered.

All you outfits are an 11 out of 10. But #3 and #4 hit it out of the ballpark and are absolutely killer deluxe. You in that grey gillet is a MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN (wave to Inge). So elegant and fashionable. And #4 has a fun Equestrian Jockey vibe to it, that pulls at my heart strings.

(I was also touched by your blog post on my holiday outfit post last week. Thanks so much, almost birthday girl). xo

Wow, you had a great week. I don't see you in a dress often, but I always love it when I do-you always look so elegant and sophisticated. I'm sure the reason you default to skinnies is because it is such a great look for you. I love #1 and #3. I would like to see the jacket in 1 with a turtleneck just for my own education! It looks good with the shirt you are wearing, but I can imagine a turtleneck would possibly give a more casual vibe. Please post a picture if you wear that combination in the future. :)

Great outfits as always :) If I had to pick a favourite it would be #3 but YLF in all of them.

stumpefying, stumpefying? Omg, you look FAB! I'm not sure many others could carry off that dress as well as you do, and the booties just make it look so modern.
Oh, and btw, the rest of the week was pretty fab as well.

I love 3 and 5, the jacket in 1 I preffer with a turtle to emphasize the jacket details. Two has a lot of elements going on, but still looks good. I'd love to see the top in 4 with a dark scarf.

Thank you for your kind comments.
Sharon, I wore this long blazer with a t-neck a couple of weeks ago here - #3.
Elly, I almost don't wear scarves lately, somehow they feel like too much for me.
Sheila, this long vest is my favorite purchase this year. Every time I wear it I feel  like a super woman! :-)
Angie, thanks a lot for your sweet comment. The interesting thing that I felt having a lot of variety in my outfits all week and hence was surprised to see that 3 out of 5 were basically skinnies tucked into tall boots. This was the main reason I allowed myself to get this long gilet - to get more variety to skinnies+tall boots formula and I was right! :-) It WAS a match made in heaven - and I hope Inge enjoys it as much as I do!
I am really glad you liked #4 as I was not sure about this one but I think the main reason was the bunching shirt under it. I will try it with AT tunic next time and hopefully it will work better.

A great variety of silhouettes.. I too like a variety.

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

Oh gosh these are all so fab I cannot stand it! My fav is the outfit with the gilet, but I don't want to do the other outfits a disservice by even picking a favourite! I agree with Suz - you are SO good at picking unexpected combinations that work SO well.

  • ElleH replied 9 years ago

I love all the outfits. Your outfits lately are killer. You are lucky to have the height to be able to wear tall boots with high contrast to your jeans/trousers. Gorgeous!

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 9 years ago

Sveta, the concept behind the 5 silhouettes is to stave off boredom.  Your outfits have so much variety and interest that I don't seen a lot of potential for boredom.    Why mess with success?

  • Debora replied 9 years ago

Sveta, you never make a fashion misstep. Each and every outfit is beautiful. My favorite of all has to be #3, though. There is something about the sleek lines and color blocking that speaks to me. LOVE!

  • Lisa replied 9 years ago

#4 is my favorite of the group, because white jeans is always so unexpected in the winter months.  And like Angie I like the equestrian vibe.

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

I see a lot of variety!  The skinnies are only one element, but your topper combos make them look entirely different.  You are the poster child for my silhouette challenge!

  • Inge replied 9 years ago

I echo what Angie said about variety in your outfits, Sveta, and this really was another splendid week. My favourites are also #3 and #4. I think it's safe to say that I'm tempted to copy every single outfit you put together with that gilet (still haven't recovered from the gorgeousness of the gilet + plaid shirt + white jeans from last week). (*waving back* to Angie).

I really love the first look too. The graphic black and white stripe ties in perfectly with the black boots and blazer. The plaid trousers are extra fun with the red booties. And I'm still so thrilled that we convinced you to take home that fab dress with you. Looks wonderful with the booties!
