WIW - last week before the NAS adventure

I have only 4 outfits for this week because Friday was so busy for me with wrapping the things at work before my vacation, meeting Suz and getting ready for NAS adventure that I forgot to take pictures!

pic 1 Blush khakis revisited
Starting point of the outfit was the blush khakis. It was a cool morning so I decided to wear a light sweater and grey and blush work really well together. I decided to stay tonal and added a faded denim biker as well.

Striped sweater - Banana Republic
Blush khakis - Gap
Denim biker - Gap
Silver tote - Danier
Bone slingbacks - Ros Hommerson

pic 2 Channeling Angie's Tin Tin outfit
Do I need to add anything else describing this outfit? :-)

Black / white silk shirt - Club Monaco
Micro-check long shorts - Winners
Black belt - Danier
Nude clutch from Portugal
Red Me Too pumps - Nordstrom

pic 3 What is yellow and striped but not  a bee?
I hope you are not tired of my yellow blazer yet because you are going to see quite a bit of it before the summer end! :-) Shannon, the sleeves were altered to fit slimmer from the elbows down.

Striped tank - H&M
Yellow academy blazer - Gap
White Kut  BF jeans - Nordstrom
Snake patterned belt
Python print tote
Gold Isaac Mizrahi slipper flats

pic 4 B&W pattern mix
I felt lady-like but adventurous that day so this is a result!

Striped b&w shirt - Suzy Shier
"Bottle bottoms" skirt - Winners
Red Chromia satchel - Winners
Bone slingbacks - Ros Hommerson

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

WOW!! You have amazing, amazing style. What a week!

(And, the rest of you, I can vouch for the fact that she looked just as amazing on Friday in her BF jeans, sepia/ brown photographic floral print top, white jacket and red bag with nude sandals.)

These are all spectacular, but 2 and 4 just stun me.

After our shopping adventures I am hoping some of your style savvy has worn off on me so I get to look 1/4 as fantastic as you.

Side note to other Fabbers. Having spent some time with Sveta going through her closet, I really, really have come to appreciate the brilliance of being able to sew or having a handy (and not too expensive) seamstress. Many of Sveta's items are just slightly tweaked so the proportions work right for her or so fiddly details do not become too annoying. This makes a huge difference to comfort, which in turn affects confidence.

Oh wow, what a wonderfully dressed week! I love #4 the most, but #3 is so angie-esque! :) And those pink pants in #1!!! *yay*

I had no idea you tailored so many of your things, no wonder you look so great!

  • ramya replied 10 years ago

Wow!! Just look at you Sveta! I want to dress like in 3 and 4

  • rae replied 10 years ago

    #2 is a serious plonk-o-matic!

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Wow Sveta, I always look forward to your outfits. Ou have totally nailed your style and what looks good on you. #2 and #4 have floored me they look SO fab!

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

Fabulous, I love your attention to detail. They are all great outfits but the tonal look in #1 really speaks to me :)

    YAlwaysLF!

  • replied 10 years ago

    I love 1-3. Wow!

  • Mona replied 10 years ago

Another great set of outfits! #1 takes the cake, though. It is a great tonal look and Suz, you are so right about little tweaks to the outfits. I also wish I knew a little bit of sewing.

  • Mona replied 10 years ago

Sveta, in #2 is the shirt fully tucked or only half?

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

#1-is lovely soft colors layered well.

#2-A fun outfit, I think grey and black will be my dominant color scheme for my fall wardrobe this year.

#3-I cannot wait to see that yellow blazer with your new striped skirt from NAS.

#4-A really fun pattern mix look here.

I really enjoy your WIW's, they are always so inspiring!

And it's interesting to hear how you have most items tweaked.  Usually if it's not an obvious fix (too long or waist too big) I forget about tailoring. Something for me to think about.

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

Sveta, I just love your style. Your clothes always fit you beautifully. I love the pattern mixing in the last outfit!

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Great set I especially love #2!

  • Ornella replied 10 years ago

Oh Sveta... Why would you think that tonal in #1 would work? And in fact, the top in #2 is so "nah" that I think you need to free the wardrobe space immediately by sending it to me. #3 I'm totally not digging those stripes and all those patterns. #4 I would never, ever think of copying... like never.

    Very, very disappointed.

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

Great looks.  And can I just say that number 4 is "stop right here and take it all in"!   Wow!

  • Jjsloane replied 10 years ago

Another great week for you and a new list of inspiring (ok downright copying) ideas for me.

  • unfrumped replied 10 years ago

Wow to the max. I am making plans to copycat # 2. YLF.

  • pil replied 10 years ago

Gosh, Sveta, I'm wowed as usual.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

You are probably sick of my saying how much I love your style.
    1. Of course I love this...the blush, soft colors..I must copy this look.
    2. I gasped when I saw your tintin version. How polished yet still summery with the long shorts. It doesn't need anything more.
    3. Another favorite color combo. Love that yellow jacket!
    4. Your pattern mixing in crisp black and white is very pleasing. I've been eyeing the bottle bottom dress, now on sale.
It looked like you found some great things ( iPad wants to make this "thongs"!) at NAS that I look forward to seeing in action.

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

Wow!  Love them all - completely amazing!

  • texstyle replied 10 years ago

Fantastic outfits - so stylish, can't choose a favorite!  Suz, I recently did two minor alterations to some things and I agree at what a huge difference it can make. All I did was reduce the strap size on a simple tank so it wasn't so low and didn't have such gaping arm holes and I tapered some cropped pants. Both looked SO much better and it only took minutes and very simple straight lines to sew. I'm no pro at it, but it was fun and with practice I might try something more difficult in the future.

Stunning Sveta. Your style is on fire at the moment. Love all iterations. *plonk*

  • chewyspaghetti replied 10 years ago

    Love these!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

You may have been very busy, but your creative energy was high in all that bustle!  I'm loving the soft colors on you in #1, the proportions of #2, the lemon slice of #3, and the expert pattern mixing in #4.

  • replied 10 years ago

I just love clicking through your WIW photos.  All very stunning, #4 makes my heart skip a beat so FAB!

  • Sara L. replied 10 years ago

Your outfits always look consistently great! I especially love #1 and #4.

  • Kyle replied 10 years ago

Fashionable Sveta, No. 2 and 4 knocked my socks off. The elegant, neutral simplicity of 2 is an extremely good look for you. Regal, if you will. And the pattern mixing in 4 is interesting and brilliantly executed.

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

Sveta, I am all over these outfits. I adore pink/grey and "bumble bee" always, you are a marvelous Tintin ;>, and the proportions/shapes in #4 are dead-on. So fantastic.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Sorry it took me so long to respond: My sister and niece from overseas are visiting us now and we had a day trip today so I just got home now.
Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot to me!
Suz, it is funny you remember what I wore on Friday because I completely forgot it! ;-) And please give yourself some credit too because I did not see any style issues whatsoever for these 3 days!
Mona, I cannot remember if the shirt in #2 was tucked or semi-tucked for the picture :-) I do remember that I started to wear it as a full tuck and then switched to semi-tuck during the day. Both seemed to work!
I do a lot of small alterations to my clothing. Of course I have it easy with my wonder mom! I cannot stop to be amazed at what the difference the small improvements can make...

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

I love them ALL! I am especially impressed with #1 because you have these soft dusty pastels that are neither sweet nor prim. The moto jacket certainly keeps the look from being too sweet but also the belt and accessories. I just love the contrast of sweet colors and edge. Very NICE!

  • Lantana replied 10 years ago

Sveta I also look forward to your WIWs and echo all the accolades from the other fabbers.
#1 speaks to my heart. Pink and grey is a beautiful combination and one I see here every day in our native bird, the galah, AKA a "pink and grey".
