WIW - getting back to normal!

Our deck construction is still ongoing and my work is as crazy as ever but at least my house guests have departed and we have already moved our younger son to college so life is much less hectic now. Enough so that I can get back to taking outfit pictures on a daily basis and posting my weekly posts again!:-) Missed you all!!!
Sorry for not the best pictures: I am still trying to find a good spot for picture taking indoors when days are so much shorter now. I think my living room (3-4) is better than the office, don't you think? Or maybe orange color is more flattering for me than the pale blue? :-)

Tried to layer the mesh taupe sweater over a lavender shirt this time with white on the bottom. I think it looks better layered over a white shirt like here but oh well! Debut of my VC leo flats, hopefully it was not too much with the red bag here when the rest is neutral or pastel...

No rain in the forecast so tried to squeeze my wide leg white Editors in once more! Completely non-creative and simple outfit here but featuring my latest find - a silver leather belt with silver grommets from a discount store for $5!
              White Editors trousers - Express
Patterned silk blend shirt - Cleo
Nude cage sandals - Franco Sarto
              Silver tote - Danier

Skirt day! This striped tee becomes one of my favorites pretty fast! I even find that I can wear a couple of almost orphan blazers with it and like the look. You cannot see it well here but the stripes in the tee are silver and there are thin silver stripes I the skirt as well - and a silver tote to boot! :-)
It is also the first day I pulled my booties out because it was really chilly in the morning. I wanted to wear my new red Munro booties but somehow I did not feel them with the faded denim here so these went out instead.
Midi skirt - Spanners via consignment
Striped sweater tee - Brooks Brothers
               Denim moto jacket - Gap
Leo print booties - David Tate
               Silver tote - Danier

I wanted to wear my white cotton blazer while I can (this is a purely warm weather item for me due to the fabric weight) so I designed the rest of the outfit around it.
                White blazer - Melanie Lane
                Black sequin tee - Winners
Kut BF jeans - last year NAS
                Nude pumps - Fidji
                Red satchel - Chromia (Winners)

Thanks for looking and as always I appreciate any suggestions and feedback.
Have a great weekend!!!

What a lot you've had to do! At least you've looked fab throughout. I really like all these looks, and the striped tee with that great skirt is simply too much fun!

1 and 4 are quintessential Sveta style but 2 and 3 slay me!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Good to see you, Sveta!  You certainly have had a busy year!

Loving #1 and #2 particularly.  Your work in creating a real wardrobe really pays off when you're rushed for time. It all works.

I am excited that you will be back posting your weekly pics Sveta!
I prefer the orange background- no distractions from lovely you.

Welcome back, I'm happy you are posting WIWs again.  #1-The lilac and taupe is lovely paired together, and adding some animal print is very clever here.  I would prefer your toned down tote (MK I think, it's taupe print) here instead of the red one.

#2 is actually my favorite of the week, the wide leg trousers are lovely on you and I like the simplicity of this look-top, belt and trousers-but you have a fun print in the top here to add some interest, nice job!

#3-I'm glad you kept this top, it is superb with skirts.  I think the banded hem is refreshing for a change up.  I have banded hem tops on my shopping list for winter.  I think they will work well semi tucked for BF jeans.  Have you tried this top with your BF jeans yet?

#5-I really like the red bag here, it's a great pop of color against strong neutrals.  And pairing the sequin top with the white blazer is a great idea, I may have to try this myself!  My sequin tank is collecting dust right now.  Thanks for always inspiring me with your WIWs.

No 1 is my personal fav! Love how you layered the mesh top, cuffed the white jeans, and topped it off with the VC lep flats and a red handbag!

  • Ingunn replied 10 years ago

Wow, you've been busy for sure! My favorite is #2. The white trousers are gorgeous on your long legs, and fab with the shirt. I also adore your red bag!

  • Janet replied 10 years ago

I especially like #1 but you have one of the most beautifully consistent styles on YLF.

I need you to give me posing lessons. I have no patience to take enough different shots of myself to find decent but natural looking poses -- I just default to standing straight on to the camera.

Sveta the sensational, back in fine form! You know what? I might like #1 best of all! It's better than you feared for sure. That is a fantastic sweater. It really adds textural interest and verve.

#2 is my next best. Just love you in the pants. And you are getting good use from your Danier tote.

The trousers in 2 are so great on you. I love your layering in 1, and the leopard booties are so cute with the skirt!

Sveta, it's such a pleasure to see you posting your outfits again. You have had a lot going on. It's hard to pick a favorite outfit.
    1. If I can revive my Pinterest boards, this outfit is getting pinned for inspiration for when the weather gets cooler. Love! I would also like your silver tote with this combination.
    2. Those pants are so fab. They and the silk shirt give that gorgeous fluid look.
3/4: what a wonderful way to wear that great skirt! This looks fun and fashion forward.
    5. This take on black/white/faded denim is fun with the sequined tee. It looks effortless on you.

I hope you get some time to enjoy your deck before the snow flies!  I love #1 (oooh!  that sweater!), and #3.  Especially #3.  Ironic and retro and pretty.  Killer combination.

  • replied 10 years ago

Good to see you again Sveta. You style is fab as always! My fave is #1

  • rae replied 10 years ago

Ooh, 1 and 5 are really unexpected in the best way! Great to see your beautiful outfits again!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

You super hip and fashion forward '80s lady in #3. That's AMAZING. One for the YLF Hall of Fame:

Killer to the power of Killer.

And by comparison, #2 is my next fave. You wear simple modern classic elegance so well. xo

You look amazing, Sveta! Pictures 2 and 5 are my faves!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

    Ooh - I'm glad you're back to posting!  Love # 2 and #5!

  • velvetychocolate replied 10 years ago

Wow - love #3 and #4 - well, I love all of these, but 3 and 4 stand out. You look like a French model in these!

Just stunning, and very fashion-forward. Fun too because it looks slightly new-ish on you and you wear it *so well*.

Happy to see you posting again :)

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

    I adore #3. It's freaking fantastic.
Last one is super nice too.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

I love #1-3 but you are stunning throughout!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Thank you all for the lovely comments!

I was really surprised the mesh sweater outfit got so much love: I thought it was passable but nothing special...
I have also noticed that white trousers in #2 look like not PPL
     but they were, honest! :-)
Ingunn, it is not surprising you like my red bag - it is red after all!
Janet, I just find that I like my pictures better when my face is turned slightly to the side, that's it.
Nicole, if we get to finish the deck before the snow flies I would be more than happy.
Angie, thanks for K2K rating, wow! I did not really expect it.
