WIW - debut of my yellow blazer

This week was a bit challenging to dress because of the weather. How would you dress if it is 8C in the morning and 24C in the afternoon? BUT it is nice to be in positive temps and feel like spring has come after all.

pic 1 After cold and rainy (with wet snow) weekend I was ready to bust out my new yellow blazer. Got a few comments at work - from "you look like spring" to " whoa, this is really bright" :-)  I really hope this blazer does not wash me out...
- yellow pique academy blazer from Gap;
- silver lurex shell from Laura 9thrifted);
- cream Monogram trousers from BR;
- SE python booties
- snake wide belt - discount store

pic 2  These trousers and shirt were with me in Portugal and I did not feel like wearing any of my vacation clothes until now. I guess I need 1 month to recover :-) Did i go overboard with a cat theme here? :-)
- white moto jacket - Danier;
- navy and white cat shirt - Gap;
- slouchy micro check trousers - Long Tall Sally;
- David Tate animal print booties
- black belt - Danier

pic 3 I had an inspiration from this pin but I am afraid my version does not look as cool. I decided that I want some white to break all these dark colors
- Striped sweater - BR;
- Paige Hidden Hills bootcuts;
- Monogram tux blazer - BR;
-  grey Trouve flat oxfords

pic 4 I wanted to break the week of jeans and pants with a skirt - and this was the day of 24C so I decided that my polka dot skirt is called for. I did not wear it at all in winter, I guess it feels woo warm weather to me.
That was an interesting morning. I planned to wear my striped black and white  short sweater with it but when I put it on I realized that the neckline has stretched and hangs out unattractively in the back. With my hubby waiting in the car impatiently I tried to decide what to wear instead quickly. White shirt was the simplest solution so I went with it. I wore the leather jacket outside and planned to remove it indoors...until I realized that while I switched from sweater to a white shirt I did not switch from a black bra to a nude one...so I had to leave the jacket on in the office.  Accidently it worked out OK in the end because they were testing out cooling system that day so the office was freezing cold! :-)
- polka dot skirt - thrifted;
- white Tahari shirt;
- brown leather Danier blaer;
- nude Fidji pumps

pic 5 I felt like a casual Friday to day - or at least my version of it. I really struggle to style this sleeveless jacket because of it length - I feel it is too short for me. So this time I decided to try it with low contrast top and bottoms. I will leave to you to decide if proportions work here...
I don't wear scarves too often but all these darker colors just begged for some white so I went for my silk scarf from Paris. I also used my red satchel but forgot to take a picture with it! :-)
- striped tee - Gap;
- black sleeveless jacket - thrifted;
- Paige skyline straight leg jeans;
- black belt from Danier;
- black shooties - Clarks

As usual comments and suggestions are very welcome. Have a great weekend!!!!!

    Great week!

    Wow, what a stylish week you had. Did you remove the lining from the blazer? I love the yellow on you and the cat shirt just makes me smile. :-) the short sleeved jacket doesn't seem too short to me. You styled it well and it works!

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago
    Thanks Anna!
    Hedgehog - no, I did not remove the lining yet. I can wear it like this in the spring but I am considering the lining removal very hard before summer comes!

    Everything is classic Sveta! The yellow and white is my fave, though - would totally copy if I had the items.

    Gorgeous yellow blazer!  Love this look and, while I think a little lippy is good to  keep the drama in your face to match the blazer, I love it on you!

    Love the mix of black and earth tones in the last pic, and the look in #3 is different from the Pinterest, but cool isn't everything.  This look is kind of Emanuelle Alt to me.

    Love you new Danier.  I think I'd like it even better with a simpler blouse, or a print with a different neckline.  I'm being exceedingly picky here, but I think the jacket's detailing can carry an outfit.

    Sounds like it was warmer in your neck of the woods than in Chicago this week!

    Sveta, what a fabulous week! I don't know which one I adore more. You look incredibly fresh in the yellow - it does not wash you out at all, to my eye. I think perhaps your darkened hair helps a little with this, providing the necessary contrast?

    I also love #2 and can't wait to copy in my own fashion!!

    #3 is classic and perfect (and also something I will eagerly copy if the ground ever dries around these parts).

    #4 is so much fun -- and what a funny story about the heat.

    #5 is great, too. I have decided that I definitely need a sleeveless jacket or vest for summer. I just need to figure out what kind and where to look for it.

    Great week, and your hair looks amazing! A little bit messy/ wispy and feminine. #4 is my favourite.

    You had a great week! I would copy each of these outfits if I had the pieces.
    1. My favorite and one I want to try with my orange blazer as i have what comes close to the other pieces. I love yellow on you. Maybe it is your darker hair, but you don't look at all washed out.
    2. All the pattern mixing and it still looks like a simple elegant outfit on you.
    3. A classic updated with booties and tuxedo jacket. What's not to love?
    4. I want to copy this polka dot skirt outfit too. I d never thought of using a brown leather jacket and can t wait to try. My skirt has small dots and I wish they were larger like yours
    5. I think the proportions work and again I hope to copy with different pieces.
    Thank you for all the inspiration. Have a great weekend!

    Love the yellow blazer! My absolute favorite of them all. ( I like the rest but #1 is my absolute favorite! )

    LOVE the yellow blazer!!! I also love the dotty skirt and am very sad that it was thrifted (which means I can't get one!!!!!)
  • Caro in Oz replied 11 years ago
    All great looks imo. #1 is my favourite too - so fresh. Love the scarf.
  • Gabrielle replied 11 years ago
    OMG.  That yellow blazer and white jeans combination is gorgeous.  You actually took my breath away.

    I always love seeing your weeks, Sveta!  These looks are all stellar, but 1, 2, and 3 are my favorites.  LOVE the yellow blazer, so fab!
  • Mona replied 11 years ago
    Great to see your week's outfit! I am so glad you got the yellow blazer. It is such a lovely colour on you and I love the bright lipstick with it.
  • Sveta replied 11 years ago
    Ah, what a relieve, looks like the yellow blazer is a hit! I still had my doubts about the color on me but it made me sooo happy I decided to keep it!
    Rae, you are one of my inspirations for citron, you wear it so well.
    Beth Ann, I am afraid #2 did not photograph well because you cannot see the collar of the shirt. I think it looked better IRL. And it was one day only with 24C - went back to 5C next day :-(
    Suz, sleeveless jacket for summer is a very good idea. I was eyeing this BR one.
    Runcarla, this is funny you say that about my hair about my hair: "A little bit messy/ wispy and feminine" as 4 out of these pictures taken after I returned from gym so it was quite messy :-)
    Joy, cannot wait to see the orange blazer in action! Also smaller polka dot is more versatile and easy to pair - this one is so much of a statement in itself it is hard to find partners for it.
    Day Vies, yellow rocks!:-)
    Lyn, I would send this skirt to you but I am afraid you would drawn in it :-)
    Ali, Gabrielle, Caro - thanks!

    Great great week! I need to get a few more vests. I love this sleeveless blazer you found!

  • carolbee replied 11 years ago
    I have trouble looking at multiple photos on my tablet so only looked at the first one - love, love, love it, YLF.
  • Diana replied 11 years ago
    What a great week, Sveta! My favorites are 1 and 4.  I love that polka dot skirt on you.
  • Ingunn replied 11 years ago
    My favorites are #1 and #4, too! The yellow blazer and the fantastic polka dot skirts are beautiful.
  • Nicole D replied 11 years ago
    Yellow blazer outfit is swoonworthy!  Especially with the red lipstick.
    I love the double shot of feline fabness in your white leather jacket ensemble.  PLayful and stylish.  Paige denim looks great on you - that is my sister's fave brand and your pics make me want to explore them a bit more.
    That skirt is amazing!  What if you wore the blazer with it?  May be too fab for mere mortals.  I just love it and I love how you styled it.
    This week is a good example of your ability to dress up or down with style and chicness!

    KILLER gorgeous all round!

    But #1, Sveta is:

    KILLER to the power of KILLER :)

    I've fainted.
  • Sveta replied 11 years ago
    Ceit, vests should be on your hunting list now!
    carolbee, Diana, Ingunn - thank you!
    Nicole, Paige is the only premium brand I tried which fits me perfectly. I guess it is good for curvier bottoms.
    Angie, K2K rating - whoot! I don't get many of those so I am going to cherish this one - especially from such a citron expert as you!
  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago
    I am sooooooo copying your first outfit next week!!! Gorgeous. Don't you just love that yellow blazer?

    Angie - I hope you had your citron crash helmut on.

    You really have your style down Sveta - each outfit is absolutely perfect.
  • sarah replied 11 years ago
    Fabulous outfits all around, Sveta- I love every one of them!
  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

    1, 2 and 5 are super super looks, like out of In Style magazine!

  • Lyn D. replied 11 years ago
    Always fantabulous , but #1 is one of my favourites ever!
    Not washed out but rather sunshine dressed as Sveta.
