WIW - and look, I am Angie's shirt twin now!

We were again in the soaring 30s temps last week and this week does not look any better. I am a bit late to post my weekly outfits because we all our evenings were busy with visiting friends - this is what long summer weekend does to you! :-)
pic #1 - dressing down my polka dot dress with a denim vest
Jones New York dress via Macy's, thrifted denim vest, nude wedge sandals - Franco Sarto.

pic #2 - debut of my new BR shirt which Angie ordered me to get - and I did. I really like it, it looks a bit like chambray in texture and color but white collar and cuffs make it dressy.
Paige Hidden Hills bootcuts, TRouve flat oxfords, green riding jacket (my mom), BR shirt, Chromia red bag.

pic #3
It was a business casual day at work (step up from usual casual) and I decided to take advantage of not needing to dress down the pencil skirt for a change :-)
Both tie-neck blouse and lace teal skirt made by my mom. red Chromia satchel, Ros Hommerson open toe pumps.

pic #4
Hot, hot day! I decided to wear my breezy sleeveless sack dress to keep cool, adding a denim jacket for the office. I like how these color blocked oxfords play with the dress.
Dress (again my mom), Calvin Klein denim jacket, Hush Puppies white and yellow oxfords, cropped leggings from Costco.

pic #5
Another hotter! Wore this to work and then to a friend's backyard birthday party. Of course jacket was for the A/C office only :-) Teal with coral make me happy! With all Angie influence ai have not been wearing my neklaces as much lately but this time I decided to go for some vintage feel and wore my large faux pearls.
coral lace dress - BR, white denim jacket - ON, nude wedge sandals - Franco Sarto, teal tote - Winners.

Thanks for looking and have a great week!

You are looking HOT Sveta...hmmmm....maybe I shouldn't use the word HOT 'cause you're probably sick of it by now!

I love every single one of these outfits. I'm particularly drawn to #2 for it's "oh yeah...I'm just THAT cool and chic" vibe (the shirt and jeans fit you perfectly) and #5 for it's slightly retro Jackie O feel.

You are really in your style groove these days Sveta!

  • Sylvie replied 11 years ago

These are all beautiful outfits. When I saw the blouse in #3, I thought, "oh man, I missed out on buying that one - it must be sold out by now" and then I read further and realized your mom made it for you. It's so pretty!

Also, I admire that each of your looks is individual yet "you" as you vary silhouette, color, etc.

  • Vildy replied 11 years ago

You look so great in lace! I love how you're tall, strong, confident and make that lace bend to your will. :) Particularly love the two pieces your mom made where the patterned blouse and lace skirt play off each other.

  • Irene replied 11 years ago

Ok, I honestly thought it was Angie on the first photo before zooming in. You look great, Sveta, as always! I particularly love 1 and 5!

  • harmonica replied 11 years ago

great, great, great! I love all of these! Favorites are #5 and #1. The coral dress and those pearls are just gorgeous - just like out of a movie.

  • Jamie replied 11 years ago

You look spectacular and confident in each one of these. And how lucky that your mom sews some things for you. All of it is beautiful!

  • Kiwichik replied 11 years ago

I really don't know where to start each look is more fabulous than the next. Such interesting shapes & colours & mix of styles. You look perfect in every photo.

  • ManidipaM replied 11 years ago

Beautiful and strong and confident as always, Sveta. What a lovely week! I love your polka dots with denim (#1) and pearls and lace with denim (#5) oufits, and it is such a pleasure to see the subtle pattern-mixing of that gorgeous lace skirt and the ruffled blouse, but my favourite is the crisp, chic #2 --- pops of colour, simple and strong silhouette, a little bit of pattern for fun... so chic!

  • Vicki replied 11 years ago

You knocked my socks off; of course, who's wearing socks on days like today! I'm a bit like everyone else here, Sveta, because you have so many wonderful colors and styles.

You could be a Jones NY Model with that expert pose in #1 and the polka dot dress is a stunner on you. YES, you do look like Angie's twin down to the perfect animal print belt detail in #2 with that great BR shirt. Love your mother's teal hunting jacket, too. Every outfit is a winner and I'm particularly drawn to #4, which is the essence of "cool." Love that black CK denim jacket and now you make me want to score one for myself. Stay lovely, lovely!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Love it ALL. The new shirt is so fab, as are your jackets, of course. My fave has got to be #1 - can't get over the ladylike dots juxtapose agains the rugged denim vest!

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

I am impressed how you manage to look so good every. single.day. I mean, I can manage 1-2 a week, but not every day. Do you spend a lot of time planning out your week? What is your process? How long does it take you to get dressed. Inquiring minds want to know.

(And I LOVE the lady-like elegance of #5, I never thought of you as having a girly or lady-like style but this really works because the lines are simple and strong. It just shows you can enter into foreign style territory with success as long as you integrate other aspects of your signature look -- in your case, strong and minimal and classic.)

  • qfbrenda replied 11 years ago

Awesome week!!! It's hard to pick favorites, but I really love the coral and polka dot dresses on you.

  • sarah replied 11 years ago

Sveta, wow, I can't even pick a favorite. These are all smashing!

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

Thank you ladies, you know how to boost gal's confidence for sure! :-)
Shannon, I love that - "cool and chic", must remember to tel it myself next time when I feel uninspired.:-)
Sylvie, harmonica, Jamie, Kiwichik, Manidipa, Brenda, Sarah - thanks!
Vildy, that lace better behave, right?
Lemonade, this is the highest compliment!
Vicki - LOL! That CK denim jacket is not black - just very dark blue wash.
Rae, I also like lady-like dresses with denim for that juxtaposition effect.
Denise, sometimes I play with potential outfits in the evening but not every time. Usually I have a good mental picture what I want to wear and just have to work out the details. For example I may have 2 jackets in mind which may work so I try both of them to see which I like better. For this week I played a bit for #3: I wanted to wear this skirt and I was playing which 3 blouses to see which works better. The rest of them were 90% in my head without trying anything on and for #4 I cheated - I wore a similar one last summer :-)

  • Jem replied 11 years ago

Wow!! I love all of your outfits! I especially love your outfit with the leggings. I've been wishing I had a short dress to wear with some, and I hadn't thought of making one, maybe I will! (although I wish I could go down to the US to Ross and buy some--they always have a ton). Anyway, I love the one your mom made, especially with the jacket--(and your purse, too). Your coral dress is TDF, too! You looked so stylish everyday!

  • cciele replied 11 years ago

Oh my goodness, every one of those outfits is so fab! You wear denim in all its forms so well.

  • replied 11 years ago

    Gorgeous! I like photos 1, 3 and 5 the best. :)

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

You look magnificent in each and every pic, Sveta. My favorites are 1/3/5! I have a mom who used to sew a lot for me -- tell your Mom this is a gorgeous ensemble, beautifully crafted! Brava and pass the iced tea!

  • Inge replied 11 years ago

We are shirt triplets, Sveta, and you've described exactly why I love this shirt so much. It looks amazing on you, and I love how you've paired it with the green blazer, animal print belt and red bag here.

Such a fabulous week altogether! I love the denim vest over your polka dot dress, so playful and feminine. You also rock the pencil skirt + pussy bow blouse look. And I always feel dresses were made for you, love the last two outfits as well. You always look super stylish, no matter how high or low the temps!

  • Debbie replied 11 years ago

Ypou have defintely hit your stride. Love it all!

  • Lulu replied 11 years ago

Sveta--could not pick a favorite; all are simply fantastic! What i think i love the most is the variation; you run the gamut from polished professional to lady-like to playful/retro (at least my take on the pattern of your sack dress--very cool 60's vibe!) yet you wear each as if you OWN the look!

  • Meredith1953 replied 11 years ago

You look great in all these outfits! I especially love the new Angie shirt and that dress in #5! What a lovely color.

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

Jem, this was a very simple pattern from Fabricland for that sack dress: if you sew it should be a piece of cake. If you want I can get you the pattern number.
cciele, can you believe I did not own anything denim just 5 years ago?:-)
    Ruth, Debbie, Meredith - thanks!
Beth Ann, iced tea is just the right thing now: the heat is unbelievable!
Inge, how cool it is to be BR shirt triplets with you and Angie? I would love to see your version -pretty please?
Lulu, variety is the salt of my life: I get bored so quickly with everything it is ridiculous and have to change things to be happy. The thing which amazes me the most how did I managed to be married for the same guy for 24 years? :-)

  • Tanya replied 11 years ago

You look wonderful Sveta! Every outfit is a winner, and I can not pick a favorite.

Btw, I have the same BR shirt as well, so we are triplets :)

  • Ornella replied 11 years ago

Oh, wow, Sveta... woman... I have to comment every single photo here. You look nothing less than sensational in each and every outfit!

    1. I have not seen this dress before and all I can say is I can't wait to see other outfits with it. It is absolutely amazing and I particularly love the sleeve length. Great pairing with the denim vest and nude sandals.

    2. Here you look like dark-haired version of Angie. Enough said.

    3. Retro-glam-office-ready. I love your matching handbag and toenails.

    4. The dress you know I love and it's like seeing an old friend. I love the choice of footwear here, I think the dress and shoes are match made in heaven.

    5. You look so glamorous and it's the pearls that finish everything so beautifully. High 5 for your mum, I haven't seen this dress before either and she created another masterpiece which suits you perfectly.

All in all, every photo screams how much you enjoy getting dressed and I really enjoy seeing your lovely creations. Thanks for sharing.

  • marianna replied 11 years ago

Wow! All the outfits are solid 10s but I REALLY love the polka dot dress with denim vest! Fabulous! I really need to find a denim vest like that. What a great piece!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

These are fabulous outfits, Sveta! And what fun to be Angie's shirt twin. I am SOOOOO tempted by that one myself.

My favourites here are #1 and #5, but honestly, each and every one is K-worthy.

  • Kristin L replied 11 years ago

You look great in each outfit. I think #5 is my favorite because those colors look so bright and cheerful and great on you.

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Sveta, I so look forward to your weekly outfit post:). Another set of absolutely fab outfits. #1 is very striking. I love the fit of that dress and the denim best over it is clever styling.
#2 is jaut gorgeous and and so you! The button down is perfect and I can see you wearing this a lot.
#3 so devine. The close is beautiful. Such a professional but feminine look.
#4/5 are lovely. The sack dress is one of my favorites. And the white denim jacket looks great over 5.

You look lovely! Hope you are over your virus and feeling better.

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

Tanya, we are quadruplets - with Inge!
Ornella, I miss you, your posts and your wonderful comments! The coral dress in #5 is not made by my mom - it is from Banana Republic.
Marianna, I have thrifted this denim vest - you may try to check this route too. Other option is to get a cropped denim jacket and remove the sleeves. :-)
Suz, this is a nice shirt, you need it <wink>
Kristin, coral is one of my best colors.
Deborah, thanks! You know that I post my weekly WIW just for you, right? :-) Thanks for asking, I do feel better now.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    You rock my style world.

    You have NEVER looked better!

    Enough said :)

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

Oh Angie, thanks! You know that the credit for this goes to you, don't you? :-)

  • Jem replied 11 years ago

Thanks Sveta, I'd love to know the pattern number.

LOL on the husband comment. Yep, it's a good thing that we can change up our clothes, so we don't have to change up husbands. ;-)

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

You look fabulous! I'm surprising myself by saying this, because I've been so into pants lately, but I especially love #1 and #3--the Chicago polka dot dress looks so fab with the denim vest, and your lace pencil skirt was made to be paired with that dressy blouse!

  • Kyle replied 11 years ago

Well, what can I say that has not already been said? Sveta, that first outfit stopped me dead in my tracks. Let's see. I have a denim vest. I have a polka dot dress (but it is sleeveless, so I wonder if that will work...?) Sorry to get off track, but I want an outfit that looks just like yours! Wow. This could be my all-time favorite for you.

I swear, I do not know how you do it day after day and outfit after outfit. Everything is creative and very you and every ensemble works on every level. You often remix and wear the same items (like the coral dress, for example) but you make them look different every single time. Number 5 is my second favorite of the week, but honestly, I'd wear any of these in a heartbeat.

You are a style genius, and a gorgeous model.

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

An amazing week of superstar outfits. The BR shirt is perfect on you. The coral dress is always gorgeous and every outfit looked wonderful. You got it!

  • replied 11 years ago

Oh my! I love 1 and 5 the best! You look so amazing in dresses and that dotted one makes you look so French! The sandals are stunning as well!

Lol @ your comment about needing change but having the same DH for 24 years. You gave me something great the next time he says, "You're going shopping *again*?" I'll say, "I need a change! You don't want me to change YOU, do you?" Heh. They are lucky the only thing we change is our clothes!

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

Jem, I will try not to forget to get the pattern # for you on Wednesday from my mom.
Jonesy, I was itching to wear that polka dot dress with the denim vest for quite some time but weather did not want to cooperate. As soon as it cooled down for one day I jumped on it!
Kyle, I think sleeveless dress will look great with the denim vest: unfortunately I cannot wear this to the office because I would freeze without the sleeves! I am looking forward to see your version! :-)
    Shevia - thanks!
Claire, LOL - I am waiting to hear about his reaction! :-)

  • Lyn D. replied 11 years ago

Love everything this week Sveta. Like Jonesy I am very much a jeans preference person, but your dress outfits are amazing!

  • AJ replied 11 years ago

I can't get past outfit 1! That thrifted vest is FAB with the dotty dress! You look like a model!

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

I am smitten, yes smitten, with photo 1! stunning, gorgeous, fab!

and then again the last one! lovely color for you.

You must, must I say, wear more bodycon dresses. Knockout!

  • An replied 11 years ago

Sveta, I have't been on the forum much for months and I just looked at your post and thought WOW! What a lovely progression with your style journey! I've always enjoyed your WIW posts and I wouldn't really be able to put a finger on the difference but you just look so fab and like you have it all together!!

  • Janet replied 11 years ago

    I want to wear #1!

You look smashing in every single one of these.

  • Lisa replied 11 years ago

The oxford shirt in #2 is lovely on you, but that jacket is a jaw dropper. What a great color and shape on you! The polka dots and denim is a fun look too. You are quite stylish for dressing in the heat!

  • lyn67 replied 11 years ago

Geat week, but my faves are the first and the last one!
Will copycat your nr1 outfit when cools a bit here, I have a similar dress in chock brown and white dots, but a bit flared hem.-
(but Claire, you cracked me up,-AGAIN:-))

  • Jem replied 11 years ago

Thanks Sveta, meanwhile, I'm going to look through my pattern collection to see if I have something that will work. Thanks for the inspiration! :-)

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Late to the party but have to say WOW what a great week, heat and all! I am also a pant gal, but those dress outfits are just amazing (especially #1 with the denim vest). I am loving the darker hair, this is still darker than it used to be right? I am quite surprised that the mid-tone blue in #2 works so well for you since our coloring is similar and those shades usually don't work for me. (How naughty! Now I want to try that shirt, too!) Brave you for wearing a necklace with the heat in #5, I thought I was the only one ;) But #3 is my absolute favorite, it has a wonderful mix of 70s glam and romance to it.
