WIW - almost neutral inspirations

This was a week of outfits inspired by my Pinterest boards. It all started last weekend when I discovered my new style crush on Sarah Pacini site:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ban-prince
Here is the rest of my week: black Blondo waterproof boots came to pay almost every day because of the cold and snow.

Pic 1
VERY cold day so chunky Gap sweater was just the right thing. You can see my another Sarah Pacini inspiration in the corner - boots, leggings and chunky sweater.
I got these ponte leggings last weekend as I am looking for a more relaxed replacement for my tight Gap jeggings. They are comfortable and I wore them that day. However I am afraid they bag too much after a day of wear. Too bad, I planned to take them with me to my Europe vacation next month :-(

My version of almost white outfit. Winter white trousers really surprised me. I though it is hard to wear them in winter. Well I have to tell you that they get dirty much less than my white trousers in summer when I have to wash them after 1-2 wears. The winter ones I wore 3 times already and they are still clean. Of course I don't trapeze in them outside too much but still: I guess there is less dust in winter! I wore this almost white outfit on the day of Angie white trouser outfit post - we must be connected somewhere in cyberspace!

Pic 3
Another inspiration from Sarah Pacini - almost literal copycat. I find that thin turtlenecks are not easy to layer over a shirt, a thicker sweater would work much better.

Pic 4
I bought this cashmere striped sweater last weekend because I liked the cheerful orange color and high - low hem. I had this pin on my Pinterest for quite some time but nothing orange so I was happy to do the copycat now. It is a very loose interpretation though :-) I am not sure these burgundy booties are the best footwear choice here but they were the only ones I could wear in cold and snow today. I want to replicate this again with my 'putty' suede booties as indoor shoes.

As usual any comments and suggestions are welcome - and have a great weekend!

You are on fire! So chic and rich. Inspiration indeed! It's hard to pick a favorite, but the winter white really makes you glow.

BTW -- where did you find the white trousers, and did you size up?

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

Thanks Beth Ann. These are Monogram wide legs from Banana Republic. I went with my size but they fit large so there is some slouch. I had the legs tapered.

  • deb replied 11 years ago

So elegant and #2 looks wonderful on you. All of them are very well done.

  • Caro in Oz replied 11 years ago

Love all of these. You bring such an elegance to all your outfits.

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

    Three is really good.

  • RunnerChick replied 11 years ago

I love them all, but #1 and #3 are especially cool! We're boot twins - I love the Blondos. Aren't they great!

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

1 and 3 are so fab! You make it look easy to dress for work (and I know it's not).

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

Wow, you nailed those outfits! And I am so in love with the winter white...which slacks are those, they are perfect on you?

  • Ingunn replied 11 years ago

I can't choose a favorite. I've been looking over and over at your photos, and what I see is pure elegance. Well done! The neutrals are great on you, and I love the classic modern silhouettes.

  • Atlantia replied 11 years ago

    Sveta, YLF!
I love #2, and usually I'm not a winter white kind of gal. I love how you chose the burgundy flats...totally works. I used to think you had to have Angie's blond 'do to make winter white work, but I'm happy to be proved wrong.

  • replied 11 years ago

What fabulous outfits! I don't think I can choose a favourite either. You look great.

  • Inge replied 11 years ago

You really have an innate sense of style Sveta, and I always admire your elegance and poise. Also, can I just say I am ever so glad you decided to keep the GAP sweater, it looks so amazing on you.
All four outfits are fabulous (sorry about the ponte knit pants bagging out-(, and I always love you in a crisp white shirt. The Winter white outfit is divine and the new striped sweater is fun (adore the colour combo in the Pinterest photo, and yours is just as lovely). Oh: I actually really like the burgundy booties with this, I think it works really well with the orange and the colour of your trousers.

    Another brilliant set of outfits!

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

Wow! you bring the neutral colours out of boring category and make them so much fun. I just love #2. You look so radiant in white and this lip colour looks so good on you.

  • replied 11 years ago

All are fantastic. My favorites are 2 and 4..WOW!

  • Thistle replied 11 years ago

All are really nice, but I am particularly fond of #2. How do you find wearing winter white? Is it hard to keep clean with all the salt, snow and slush?

  • krishnidoux replied 11 years ago

Yay for winter white! Lovely on you! Just can't get over pic 2.

PS thanks for the info on winter white pants, very useful, as myself have been weary of wearing them for the dirtying factor.

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

Love them all but I think #2 is my favorite. I love the leopard belt and the faux tuck with the slouchy trousers. The red shoes just send me right over the edge -- so chic.

  • catherine replied 11 years ago

Wow, you really make all of your clothes look great. The winter white is especially exquisite on you.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

Of course we are connected. That's why you're an Urban Prince :)

Sveta, your style gets more and more killer. What else can I say? :) You have honed, focused, evolved and are having fun - despite fidget temperatures! You are an inspiration to us all. xo

The WW outfit steals the show!! Of course it does.

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

Thanks, Sveta. I could taper pants myself, and am looking for a little slouch, but I want my understated and drapey.

  • lynn replied 11 years ago

Wow Sveta! I checked out your inspiration site and found the outfits beautiful but I never would have thought they could be replicated the way you did it! You are amazing and you look so wonderful in each picture. Way to go!

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Sveta, I can't choose a favorite. You are so chic! Love the new sweater too. The burgundy booties work great with it.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

    Sveta, you look sensational!!!

I love each and every one of these outfits. I can't say more than you are Soft Dramatic personified and a true prince of the realm of high style!

I'm in awe. You totally rock these looks!

  • Alecia replied 11 years ago

I love your style. LOVE, love, LoVe.

  • Sarah A replied 11 years ago

Amazing! I love your weekly posts and the pinterest inspirations are great. Like how you have not just copied but evolved the look to your taste.

  • Freckles replied 11 years ago

I really love how you are exploring this new style direction. Each of these outfits is stunning on you and has such a perfect amount of impact. I could be looking at a magazine layout and not a wiw post. Stunning.

  • Kyle replied 11 years ago

Gosh, you look fab across the board. I'm very drawn to No. 3. Simple, but interesting. Somehow when I try to wear a button down under a T-neck I look like a dork -- you look like a cool model. Great looks, as always.

Thank you ladies for your kind comments, they made my day!
RunnerChick, I also like Blondo boots, quite comfortable, waterproof and stylish.
Jayne, these white trousers are Monogram wide legs from Banana Republic:
    http://bananarepublic.gapcanad.....=429109003
I got them tapered. They are my regular size but run big so I have some slouch there as well.
Atlantia, I remember Angie saying that all white look is easier for dark haired gals because there is already some contrast built in.
Inge, of course you like my inspiration photo for orange sweater: I got it from your Pinterest board! Actually I notices that her jeans are purplish burgundy - just like my booties :-)
Thistle, I did not wear these white trousers outside that much, just to work with a bit of walking. I was surprised that after 3 wears they still do not require washing. Mind you that having legs tapered helps a lot too as it keeps the hems off the grouns and snow. I also find that white tops and jackets get dirty much faster than bottoms.
Angie, thanks, I hoped you will like WW outfit even if it is not as stellar as yours - but then this cream leather jacket of yours makes my heart melt every time I see it. You are so lucky it is too small for me or I would definitely come and steal it!
lynn, the main challenge in working with inspiration pictures that you don't have all the right pieces and have to improvise :-)

  • bj1111 replied 11 years ago

#3 is my fave....strong, simple, stylish. Color me inspired.

  • Lyn D. replied 11 years ago

Just have to say that the striped sweater is gorgeous, and lovely layered over the turtle neck.
    Inspirational as always!

  • texstyle replied 11 years ago

OH MY these are all so incredible! I don't know what to say. I'm on my way downstairs to pull out my leopard belt to copy your inspiration in white. All of these are Gorgeous!

  • Ornella replied 11 years ago

I die over that all white outfit.

    But - what a round!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

I don't know how you do it day after day Sveta - your style is simply amazing and I look forward to every single outfit you show us. You have such a quiet elegance about you and everything fits and drapes just "ever so". You have got it figured out gorgeous lady!

And the all white outfit? STELLAR!

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago
