What do we think of this metallic peplum blazer?

Monogram collection in Banana Republic. Does it look interesting or like a knight armor?

I think it'd depend on who was wearing it. I'd love to see it on you!

    Both!

My issue would be the neckline. Also the risk that the fabric would FEEL like knight-in-shining-armour.

But hey, if you are ordering anyway, what is the risk? You can quickly return in-store in London, correct?

It is too girly for Ceit or she would be all over it!

I also also say both!  Where the peplum hits is a biggie for the overall look. (says the short waisted girl with fit issues lol)

    Ceit needs this!!!

Honestly, I think you would need to feel the fabric and try it on. I love the idea of it, but then I love the knightly looks Ceit regularly puts together, and I think this could play well with the right pieces, assuming it is comfy.

I think its cool - kind of knightly, and kind of futuristic too.  It would all depend on the feel of that fabric and the location of the peplum for me - also, that neckline is iffy on me - but, I'd love to see you try it - I'm sure you could easily pull this look off!

It does have a future-knight feel and I love it for that! I think with sleek basics for the rest of the outfit, it would be a good idea to let this piece shine. I vote try too!

I vote to try it! The neckline would put it out for me, but I love the peplum.

It is stunning! I think it is beautiful.

It looks amazing. I notice the fiber content is  polyester, cotton & metallic my only concern would be how the polyester felt :)

I think it looks like a scuba suit. But that's in, right?

I WANT to look like a knight in armour...Try please!

  • replied 10 years ago

Ha! You say it like that is a bad thing :) I was actually considering trying this...I think I might just for fun!

  • Mona replied 10 years ago

Only one way to find out, Sveta. You have to try it. I am not crazy about the neckline but with your short hair, it will look good.

  • Vildy replied 10 years ago

oh my gosh! It looks interesting because it looks like a knight's armor! :D
    I love this.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Heh-heh, so many enablers! ;-) I was not even considering it, just caught my eye and I was curious.
You know, if not for the neckline I would give it a try buy I find them very hard to style. Ceit, please try it on, I want to see how it looks on Sir Knight!:-)

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Ceit, I thought it might be too girly for you, but now that I look at it again, I say get on the order bandwagon!

I think it is really cool in a very highly structured way. In a way, Sveta, it is a version of that Tahari jacket we tried. Completely different style but the sense of strict structure is similar. And the nipped in waist of course.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

I think you are right, Suz. If only neckline was different...

  • replied 10 years ago

Well, I bit, so I'll post photos when it arrives!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

    Woo-hoo!

I like it, in theory. I think you could do a lot with it -- the color functions as a neutral. But it doesn't look very comfortable to me.
