My dress is here - keep?

Sorry I am flooding the forum with my posts today but I just need to share this!
I have asked you about some possible additions to my dance capsule some time ago. In the end I decided to order one dress only - and it arrived last night.
It is so different from any dress I have now. I was  afraid of the V neck and wrap but the wrap is false (there is a zipper on the side) and the V neck is narrow and can be stitched a bit so it stays in place. I decided to size down  and this is size 8  - I think it is the right size. It does not need any alterations in the top which is a rare case for me in a dress - but do you think the skirt is not fluid enough? It looks more fluid on the mannequin. Should I try a size up?
What do you think? My hubby liked it but said it is a busy pattern. I don't mind it though. The floral print is abstract and large scaled but the colors are a bit muted so it does not feel too much for me.
And yes, I would need a different bra for this dress if I keep it :-)
I am very tempted to keep it  - what do you think?

My first reaction was, "WOW"! That looks great! I say keep!

  • Karin L H replied 8 years ago

I think the dress fits you great and I really like the colours! I can see what you mean by thinking about the skirt's fluidity - if you intend to wear it for dancing I guess you'd like it to have that fluid motion... Could you try a quick dance at home and see what it feels like? If you feel good in it while dancing I say keep it, you look great!

  • Mona replied 8 years ago

Keep, of course, keep. You look lovely in this.

  • Daria replied 8 years ago

It fits you great as is! Next size up will potentially give more fluidity in the skirt, but won't it be too big in the waist and chest?

  • MTBGirl replied 8 years ago

It fits you perfectly and is lovely. I vote yay. Did you try some moves in it? It seems like it would swish around pretty well!

  • Tanya replied 8 years ago

Love! Your waist looks so tiny. Please keep it.  Try some usual dance moves around the house to see if you can move in the skirt properly.  If yes, then no need to size up.

  • Diana replied 8 years ago

    WOW. You look amazing. Keepkeepkeep!!!!!!

Your arms and shoulders look amazing and so toned by the way.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 8 years ago

    YES!

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 8 years ago

    Keep it!

  • Joyce B replied 8 years ago

The dress fits you beautifully but if you have a question about fluidity maybe you should try one size up to compare and keep the size that works best for you. This way you will not have any doubts about the dress that you keep. I hope you can get it with free shipping and free returns.

Gorgeous!! KEEP!!! I think it will feel plenty fluid in motion. Try dancing around the room in it. Absolutely gorgeous dress on you -- I love this neckline, actually.  A SMALL V is SUPER flattering to small bust, square shoulders, short hair. Just has to be small enough like this.

  • replied 8 years ago

I'm joining the chorus :) My thoughts before I even read any replies were that the dress is fab! You look amazing in it. Definitely keep!

  • Inge replied 8 years ago

Oh yes. This is a keeper for sure. Stunning colours, gorgeous cut and silhouette and you. What a find!

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

This looks like an ideal addition to your dance capsule. Have you tried dancing in it to see if it moves in the way you want it to? The pattern is large and busy but the bare arms, your height and the muted pattern make it work to my eye. Keep.

  • Keturah replied 8 years ago

Oh you must keep!! It's stunning on you!

  • carter replied 8 years ago

Definitely keep! This size looks perfect to me. It's more fluid on the mannequin because, well, she doesn't have a bottom. Totally beautiful dress on you!

  • jackiec replied 8 years ago

    Keep:)

  • texstyle replied 8 years ago

Wow Sveta - you look beautiful in this dress!  I don't know what to say about fit but in these pics it looks truly great. If it feels at all fitted on top, then just maybe try the other size just to see - sometimes they aren't all that different.  But total gorgeousness, really.

  • Elizabeth P replied 8 years ago

Oh yes, love it.  I would  think that the cut of the front would help give it the ease of movement you'd need for dancing.  And of course... the bra.  Finding one that fits with the right strap line could be trickier than it sounds...

Heck, I think you should keep it as a summer dress, even it it does't work for dancing!

  • Janet replied 8 years ago

I can't believe there is even a question -- this is gorgeous and you look fantastic!

If I needed a dress like this, I'd be all over it myself.

  • Windchime replied 8 years ago

The dress looks amazing on you! The vee neck is extremely flattering, I think.

Your arms are looking great for summer.

  • Susie replied 8 years ago

My first reaction was also "wow!" This looks fantastic on you....please keep!

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

    WOW.

Killer Stunnung Beautiful. There will be hell to pay if you return that dress.

Now I want the frock too.

  • AM replied 8 years ago

No question. Keep. Simply stunning. It has wonderful lines and is so flattering around your neck and shoulders...down to your waist. Perfect.

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 8 years ago

Sveta, this fits you beautifully!   But you should try a dance in it and make sure it's what you need.

  • Peri replied 8 years ago

Wow, keep! Even if it isn't perfect for dance, keep anyway! Perfect summer everything dress!

  • MsMaven replied 8 years ago

Keep! Keep! Gorgeous dress on you. The skirt looks like it has plenty of room to float around you as you twirl.

  • milehighstyle (Linda) replied 8 years ago

Yes!!!!   Keep and wear it a lot.  Stunning.

  • dashielle (Ann) replied 8 years ago

A resounding YES Sveta! You look like $1M in that fantastic dress!

  • amiable replied 8 years ago

Wow - incredible dress!  Please do keep - it's gorgeous on you!

  • merwoman replied 8 years ago

    KEEP!!!
Have I made myself clear :-)

  • AviaMariah replied 8 years ago

STUNNING on you.  You must keep!!

  • lyn67 replied 8 years ago

Dress worth 1 million bucks, pls keep! Wow, you look stunning in it!

  • old chic replied 8 years ago

Definitely a keeper. We will all be upset if you let this stunner go!

  • Gennifyr replied 8 years ago

Keep, it's looks perfect for dancing. Not too busy at all.

  • columbine(erin) replied 8 years ago

Wow. You're going to be so beautiful in motion in this dress.

  • Deb replied 8 years ago

It looks lovely on you Sveta and fits perfectly on top, so sizing up wouldn't be a wise option. By now, I imagine you have done a little tango or whatever to test its practicality. If it passes the dance test, it is a keeper for you. Admittedly the pattern is quite bold, but it is nice to have a change and something quite different in our closets, and since you are tall, you can carry the large pattern well. Now to sort out the right bra.....

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

How could you NOT keep this?  It's perfect on you!

  • DonnaF replied 8 years ago

Yowza!  I don't think you should even try a size up; this looks perfect.

  • Olivegreen replied 8 years ago

Perfect. Clearly a lynch mobbing of you return this one.

  • replied 8 years ago

KEEP This dress is made for you. No need to size up, I think the top would be too big.

  • Sveta replied 8 years ago

Wow! No wonder  felt so happy when I put that dress on last night! Such a united approval - thank you!
Carter - LOL about no bottom on the mannequin, you may be right.
There is nothing snug about this dress. The bottom part skimming my hips nicely without being too loose or too snug. The upper part is a wee bit on the big side but if I sew the end of the V together it should be fine. I did not feel it is not big enough until I looked at the online picture and compared it to my picture - but Carter may be up to something here :-)
I did not do a little tango (this is by far the most difficult dance for me and I am giving up on it for now) but I did a bit of rhumba (could not resist) and it moves very nicely. I think it is going to be perfect for the our Spring Gala, right?
Thank you all again so-so much.
Now if anybody wants to help in the hunt for the perfect bra for this neckline in 34C which is available in Canada I would be all ears! :-)

  • rachylou replied 8 years ago

    No question. KEEP.

  • Gail replied 8 years ago

It looks fabulous you MUST keep it !

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 8 years ago

OMG Sveta I saw the pic at work and didn't have time to respond.  Even though there are dozens of responses and I suspect all say versions of the same thing, I felt compelled to add to the chorus.

Amazing, outstanding, and utterly gorgeous!!!  KEEP, please.

  • Jeanie replied 8 years ago

    KEEP!  It's stunning on you!

  • retailgirl replied 8 years ago

    Wow! Looks great!

  • Jaime replied 8 years ago

Surely there is no room for debate. YOU MUST KEEP!

  • jenanded replied 8 years ago

    Love it on you!
btw did you get the pale blue cullottes from LTS?

  • AJ replied 8 years ago

Sounds like you are keeping it. Yay! It is gorgeously sexy on you!

  • Sara L. replied 8 years ago

The dress looks fantastic on you.  I'm glad you decided to keep it.  Have you tried bra clips - something like these: http://www.amazon.com/piece-Ad.....&qid=?  They work with your existing bras and you can move them up and down to shift the straps where you need them.  I wear them a lot in the summer with racer back tanks and I bought mine at Target.

  • Sveta replied 8 years ago

Thank you ladies. Your enthusiastic approval is very appreciated! :-)
jenanded - not yet, I did not have time to get into the store yet. After my vacation!
Sara - great idea! I think I have a package of those somewhere around the house )my Mom got it for me but I never used it). Thanks for the tip!

  • Elizabeth Katherine replied 8 years ago

Definitely keep! It's beautiful on you. May I also ask where you got your shoes? I love them!

  • Sveta replied 8 years ago

These are JRenee Tomlin  pumps from 2 years ago, they are not available anymore :-(
    They were in Angie's finds!

  • Debbie replied 8 years ago

Amazing dress on you! You look so beautiful. Keep!

  • abc replied 8 years ago

we've been away and yours was the first post I clicked on :) - so I am late to the party, but WOW, I just have to say, that dress is amazing on you.  So glad you're keeping it.  Here's to a lot of fun nights dancing in it.

  • CocoLion replied 8 years ago

Another yes vote!  The bigger size may have more folds in the front but it's no guarantee.  Then you will have to make alterations to the upper part, so new problems are created.  No it doesn't look the same on you as the in-human mannequin it actually looks better!

  • Elvia Luna replied 8 years ago

Like everyone else on this post, I say keep!!! The dress is absolutely gorgeous. My mom would love this
