JCrew order #2 is here!

You may recall the JCrew order I posted about last week? My second order came today and here is the report!

  • I have risked to order eyelet front linen tees on final sale and happy to report that they are keepers! I got blush pink and white. The front is embroidered silk and the back is linen. It is a bit see-through on the silk front but works with nude bra and pant grinning can be fixed with a tuck or semi-tuck if I am not in a mood to wear a cami. Both colors should work in my wardrobe. pic 1-2 is blush tee and pic 3 is white tee.
  • linen swing tank (it is gone from the site so I cannot link it in finds) - pic 4.  My first reactions was that I like it and it is a keeper. However it is pretty thin and see through and unlike the tee looks best untucked - which means it would require a cami and this just does not make sense for a tank. Also I think I don't use tanks as much as sleeved tops and shirts: I am getting cold easily and having my shoulders covered makes me more comfortable in A/C. So while I like it it goes back.
  • Boatneck linen tee in azalea (pic 5 - on the right). This is a size up from the navy one I got before but I think it fits nicely. However I think it goes back as I like the amethyst pink of the sweater better for me (pic 5 on the left)  and I don't need one more pink top right now.
So this order is 50% - 50% which is OK with me because I began to worry i have ordered too much! I already purged 2 older shirts to make room for these 2 tees which stay!

I really like the two tees that you are keeping!  ( I have the same one in colbalt, he he).  I like the other two as well, but I totally get your reasoning on why they are going back.

I love the blush tee on you - beautiful! I think the new pink is gorgeous on you and may prefer is to the old pink, but I am sure it is better to judge in person. You look stunning Sveta!

    Good job!

    Love those tees!

Wow, the eyelet tees are lovely on you, Sveta! Really glad you are keeping.

I agree 100% about the pinks -- the cooler toned one works better. Though linen boatneck style looks good in this size as well and that pink is also nice on you. Just not as nice.

I like the swing tank but I see the issue with air conditioning. It could be nice for layering under a solid topper, but if you will not wear it that way, back it goes!

My J. Crew orders are taking forever. I am hoping they get here tomorrow.

I have also done a big edit for all the new things coming into my closet.  :) Let go of three sweaters, a tee, a couple of toppers, some sandals, and five summer tops well past their prime.

Great picks, Sveta. I like the swing tank but your reasoning is sound.

The eyelet tees are beautiful on you, Sveta, glad that you are keeping both colours. I also really like the swing tank on you, but if you think it's not going to be all that versatile, you're right in sending it back. And I agree with your fit and colour assessment of the boatneck azalea tee.
You've definitely found some great stuff at J.Crew this year!-)

You definitely rock the look...I had to look and smile at each style...The JCrew tops that you selected really work with your look...Happy wearing....

The eyelet tees are wonderful, they hang much better than I was expecting.  Which of course has my lemming senses tingling... is this sized up?  When my order FINALLY arrives, I should have some items to make a good comparison.

I also like the linen tank, but don't love it.  Although, it doesn't look too thin in the photos.  But maybe it shows more IRL.

And I actually quite like the pink top on you.  the lines of it are super flattering, and the colour seem so "happy".  But again, you know it looks (and more importantly how it makes you feel) IRL.

Wow! All your finds are gorgeous on you, including the embroidered tank and the azalea top. I depend on your personal needs what will you keep. I can relate to not using that much of sleeveless tops, but  I would still consider  keeping the azalea top as it's a great color and fit on you!

I think you've done brilliantly with your selections and choices on what you're keeping Sveta. I absolutely adore those eyelet tees on you.

  • Gracie replied 9 years ago

Very glad that you took a chance with the eyelet tees, they both look fresh and pretty on you. I like the way you, like Suz, always style the new arrivals. It really helps to see the full effect of potential combinations. It seems all items fit well but the issues are with other attributes, good calls on the returns (for myself I like the new pink better or, something in between).

Love the blush and white eyelet Tees. I agree that those are the best of the lot. Perfect partially tucked on gorgeous you - who is sooooo tanned. xo

(MUCH prefer the amethyst on your colouring).

so glad that you found something that worked for you, Sveta. those eyelet tops are gorgeous on you.

  • Sara L. replied 9 years ago

Great finds!  I really like the blue/white tank but agree that the back especially looks very sheer.

  • Ledonna N. replied 9 years ago

My you wear everything well but, my favorite is pic 2 those pants are everything.

  • Lisa replied 9 years ago

I agree with everything here.  The two new tops look great, a fun twist on a basic piece.  I also don't undersatnd why there are sheer tops for summer clothes, it's hot, who wants to layer because it's sheer?  And I also prefer the purple color vs the pink on you.

Tanya, I know you have that tee because I saw it in one of your posts day after I ordered mine and thought:"Good! If Tanya got it it must be worth it!" :-)
I am glad everybody approves of the tees! :-) It was a risk with blush color without seeing it in person but I think it works for me.
Inge, I am JCrew addict from your (and Gaylene) light hand :-0
Suz, I saw that your loot has arrived! :-)
Elizabeth, these linen tees are size up for me (a least - they are XL) They are oversized on me but I like the fit.
Such division on the pink top for me...maybe it means they both work?:-) I am ordering amethyst sweater in size down and then I will compare befoer sending something back.
Thank you all for your help and opinions, you make online shopping fun!

  • Inge replied 9 years ago

LOL, Sveta, I really don't feel an ounce of guilt about getting you hooked ;-) Not when you look this good in all their stuff.

  • rachylou replied 9 years ago

Solid decisions, but I do like how they all look on you!
