Gap marled sweater: which size and color?

One of the spring / summer trends on Angie's list was pastels.Usually pastels do not love me back and tend to wash me out so I was very excited when I saw these marled sweaters on Gap website. Because pastels here are the result of mixing color and white threads together they have depth to them which make them more wearable for me.
I went to the store but could not make up my mind about the size so I ordered 3 different sizes and 3 different colors to try at home. Result: I cannot decide and need your help!
From left to right:
a) neon lemon yellow in L Tall - actually it i closer to lime than to lemon IRL - lime milkshake anyone? :-)

b) bright guava (pink) XL Regular

c) orange peel (coral pink) L Regular

pic 4 - a better view of the width between L and XL
pic. 5 - how they look with my blush trousers
pic. 6 - how they look with a flared midi skirt length wise: I really want to wear this sweater with skirts so it should work

Please help me out: L or XL? Regular or Tall? neon lemon yellow, orange peel or bright guava?

Thank you!

P.S. XL is boxy enough and thick enough to be layered over a shirt!!! :-)

ETA: I think I created a bit of confusion here because I mislabeled the guava and orange in the beginning. Guava (pink) is in the middle in XL and orange peel (coral pink) is on the right in L. :-)

I like the yellow the best. My monitor is not really showing the difference in the pinks. But then, I just really like you in yellow :)

From there, in pic#1, I like the way the yellow lays best. I think that is the large tall.

In picture #4, I like the first shot better.

I like all the colors with your blush trousers on my screen.

The back view makes me pause with the skirt as it is quite a bit longer in the back than in the front and seems to be bunching a bit. Still, I think the length works for a skirt in the front.

OK -- I'll go first!  I like the Guava in the large regular best.  I know, it's more of a fluid classic than fluid slouchy fit, but I think it still have a skimming look that's modern and it flatters the torso with the skirts best of all of them.

The orange is great too, but I like my neon un-marled, so I'm not digging the yellow.

    I'm SO ready for spring!

Wow, lots of choices! I will say that the orange and the pink look almost identical on my monitor, so I don't know if I'm able to judge the color accurately. But my preference is actually for the bright guava in the L regular or L tall size, depending on whether you want to wear it more with pants or skirts. I thought that the XL looked like it had a lot of excess fabric when viewed from the back and side. It seemed to me that the guava color had a warmth to it that complemented your skin tone; the orange seemed to be cooler than the guava and less flattering (though not bad by any means; it was pretty subtle).

    You look great in this!

I love the yellow (lime) L tall best. To my eye, it looks perfect in every picture. I admit to being partial to that color, though. The orange and pink look about the same on my screen.

Sveta, I like the color of C (guava) best on you. The size is harder, but I like the tall L best for most outfits. Please realize though that I'm looking at the photos on a mini pad.

I am confused as to what is what, but I like the yellow one best!

I'd go with the L in the tall or the XL in the regular. The L in the regular looks a bit skimpy to me if you are looking for a drapey look as opposed to a classic fit. All the colours look good, but it's hard to judge pastels on a monitor.

Ok well just to be different, I prefer the L tall in every pic except the skirts. And I prefer the orange over the pink on you color wise, so therefore you should keep both the yellow and orange, one for pants and one for skirts. Boom. Problem solved.

All kidding aside you look so slim in those large sweaters... Incredibly flattering.

I like the orange one! Size-wise, there isn't a ton of difference between them visually until the backview.

  • Jeanie replied 10 years ago

I like 'b' - the pink one.  I am not sure about sizing but I just love you in this light shade of pink with you dark hair....lovely.

I like the colors of 1 and 2. I like the fit of the L Tall best, but with skirts I think the XL regular for length. I say keep 1 and 2 :)
Off to pop one in my cart

I think the L tall fits the best.  The others look short with pants.  If I wore it with a skirt, I think I would tuck; it seems to interfere with the volume of the skirt.  All colors look good but I don't think I would duplicate, just pick my favorite color and wear it a lot!

  • El Cee replied 10 years ago

I think that the Tall Large is the best fit, especially if you plan on wearing it primarily with pants. (XL Regular seems best with skirts.) I like all three colors on you, but the bright guava is definitely my favorite.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Ah, no wonder I cannot decide!
For this particular sweater I would prefer a shorter length on the back..oh, this is really hard!
For colors I will look in the natural sunlight over the weekend to see which one I like better on me.

    Thank you for your help!

I think I like the Guava best in the L.

  • carter replied 10 years ago

I like the fit best of the guava XL (middle pic), but I like ALL the colors on you. Good luck deciding!

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

I like the pink best, it creates a lovely column of color with your pink trousers.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

    Pink. xo

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

    Thank you again!
Angie, you mean the middle one, right? Do you have size and length preference - this is where I am really stuck!:-)

  • suzanne replied 10 years ago

I like the fit of the the yellow/lime the best and although all of the colors look very good on you, I also like the yellow/lime color the best for you. The two others are hard to tell apart but honestly, I'm not sure why you have thought pastels haven't looked good on you in the past. The fun about the yellow/lime is that it is citron; a color that is trendy and novel.

I can't comment on colour, as I'm not calibrated here at work, and they all look nice.  But I will say that I like the L tall's fit the best.  But I personally don't care for this particular sweater shape with that skirt - it bunches too much at the back.

  • Jules replied 10 years ago

I can't pick! But must chime in to agree that these really do highlight your tiny ribcage, and as a fellow pastel-phobe I totally agree about the colour effect. I saw something similar at H&M today but v-neck, crew neck feels more current of course.
